Visible and invisible light spectrums
Ruskiesrule replied to Uziyahu--IDF's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
If they decide to have thermal they could do it the same way they do in AvP, they have a totaly different set of textures for the player models with the bright reds and yellows, they also add an ora around the men. Scenary textures are darkened and given a very strong blue tint. I know the Challanger tank has thermal imaging, it isn't 70's era gear but its just a thourght! -
The current aiming system isn't very good for combat inside a building. I do love the aiming system, being able to aim your gun without moving your whole person. But if they are to make combat inside more frequent maby they should make a toggle from the current open field aiming, and the old-school style system for indoors (the usual system, like in half-life, and mohaa).

i'd like a big field full of tall grass, so you can only see other people when your standing up. That would be fun, you could stick it in clearings in the jungle.
-
Yeah, thats becoming an anoying habit for me, whenever theirs fog i always end up stabbing sombody!....... ........well come on!!! They're in fog, they're asking for it! Great idea, i wanna see more weather effects too

Would be good if your could tell the AI to follow the team leader in like a stream/line, somthing like in Rainbow6 cuz this would make it interesting. Maby to save hassel with the AI recognising an urban or rural/open area, you could maby make area classes when you make the original maps. Also, how about some animations when the soldiers are safe but don't have their weapons holsterd. They either look to comfortable, or like they're shitting them selves!
-
that mite be good for WW2 missions, can't call in airsupport without the Phone.
-
yeah, and wade(sp?) through shallow water.
-
tank commanders mg Also, different animations for the people in cargo, i swear those guys look like they're looking at my man just dreaming of what they'd like to do to him.
-
Well, i still think this should be implimented a little, i don't like the way they move through villages. Would also make it look/play better when they all hide behind the side of a building from a tank or some infantry.

Is there anyone making new grenade?
Ruskiesrule replied to CuteQA's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
i made a real cool mission where the island was under chemical attack, so the player had the binoculars overveiw things on all of the time to look like a gas mask. One problem is that all of the binoculars are more prominant than the players HUD display, making it harder to see things such as squad status, and the command menu. Although these things would be harder in real life if you're wearing a gas mask. -

Also 'Real shilka', and 'real vulcan'. And a nice Cessna Resistance with a machine gun and bombs. I cant remember who made the whole pack, its sombody who is well known among the community, erm!

Getting m2 machineguns
Ruskiesrule replied to Hit_Sqd_Maximus's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
try the ofp cookbook at the CIA, they have a real good one that i can think of a hundered of uses for. http://www.ciahome.net/modules....e=index I beleave that is correct Its in the scripts section, its called M2 supporting fire or somthing alone those lines. -
I think it would look ok if they just made a forward walking animation. In ofp the soldiers have turning animations, but i use the mouse to turn corners so i don't see them, he just looks like he's on a turn table.

At the end of the war, in my home city of Sunderland, all the warships fired off some round in celibration, but sombody forgot to tell the magazine men to send up blankes. Well, the shells came down in the middle of the city and killed some people. Can you imagen surviving the blitz, and the whole war for 6 years, and then being killed like that?

The first doodle bug had a pilot, but those were the proto types.

Cant see through sand, only thing that can see through sand i'm told is thermal vision, the Challanger2 has this but its still hard to tell what type of tank it is through the sand.

Safe is better, Careless is when you want them to ignore everything around them, so they won't be bothed by the squad of 30men standing on the road armed with AT rockets!

Simple rules that almost everybody over the age of 13 knows are keep low, hold your fire unless you really need to (Try watching episodes of star trek when they're in the borg ships) cuz once you fire you've just set off a signal. in large groups, try flanking alot. If its just you and your friend, you mite like to try a sniper team, one guy sniping, and the other with his assault rifle looking around for targets. Make your first shot count, even more so with weapons with high return fire, such as the resistance sniper rifle and weapons with high recoil (S&W). Avoid tunnel vision, when you spot a target, take note where he is, look around, find him again and advance, stop, take note, look around, find him again and advance. Take things slowly in urban areas like towns, press F, your moving nice and slowly, lots of time to spot and enemy, and harder for the enemy to spot you. Also, keep in mind where the nearest ally, doorway or shrub is, if you spot sombody pointing his gun at you don't stop and thing "Is he pointing that at me to kill me, or is it just a coincident?", cuz you'll be dead, just run for the nearest cover. Pistols are good for urban combat, the low range means nothing now, and they have almost no recoil (I find that stupid but it there and you should use it to your advantage) so you can pump anything with 14rounds (Depends on the weapon) in a flash or muzzel flare.

can you edit the mission file to turn a unit into a seagul?
