This has been asked and discussed previously. That island is a volcanic island with the mountain in the middle the now inactive volcano, the yellow strip with burnt trees lining it is an old lava flow from a lava vent (hole in the ground).

And again the age old argument of what country's MBT is the best bears its ugly head. An argument which has been drug out to the point of being moronic. Its easy to look at WW2 and say the Tiger was better than the Sherman or the T-34 was better than the Panzers. Because these vehicles and their crews actually fought each other. And even then the Sherman's use in WW2 shows that superior numbers, crews, and tactics can defeat a superior design. However, the Leclerc, Challenger, Merkava, T-80/90 whatever have never fought each other, all they have ever engaged is inferior antiquated MBTs with the usual advantage of numbers and tactics. Each MBT excells at what it was designed for. MBTs like the Abrams are designed to be fast moving hard hitters for assaults, Merkava's are designed for Defense and Offense in a man-portable AT filled enviroment. Any comparison that is made will be biased towards ones weakness and another's strength. Until the dreadfull day these machines of war are actually used against each other we will never know which is the better, and even then superior tactics, numbers, and training may bring the underdog out on top.

And it would be an air unit at that.... Something that I find is beginning to be excessive, but hey what can you do. What I've been waiting to see is a Mi-2 Hoplite for the East. These where in production until 1985 and just as commonly used as the Mi-8 and Mi-17. The main reason is the stripped loadout for a Mi-2 is simply a gun on the side door much like the UH-60MG in OFP right now. Also it would help alliviate the UH-60 being put in CTF missions for the East because there is no light armed helo, that isn't a sitting duck in the air to hit for the east. Not only does the Blackhawks being put available for East kinda ruin the continuity of the game, its as confusing as hell trying to figure out what chopper is friendly and what chopper isn't when you've got a big game going. And it would be a real plus for Russian specialop insertions and light deployments. Instead of using the Big Bertha of a Mi-17.

The national debt is meaningless. As its already been noted the majority of the debt is money the goverment owes itself thru government intrests. The debt will never be called to be repaid, eventually the Congress and House will get the balls to just write it off.

Ah but then you would have had to found something else to fill that 1 min gap in your life answering an ignorant question.

Every time I try to run the 1.55test patch I get the following. Verifying Operation Flashpoint, version 1.46... Warning: No CRC information about version 1.46. Operation Flashpoint: Updating version 1.46 to version 1.55... Operation Flashpoint patch 1.55 has been applied successfully. But when I go into OFP the version is still 1.46, nothing has changed in the multiplayer menus at all. So either this CRC warning means something and the patcher just doesn't realize its failed or I don't have a clue as to what is going on.

I wouldn't know as I would never sell mine.

Deterance still has its place in world affairs Especto. I would never expect nor want the United States to destroy all its nuclear weapons. That would be an open invitation for some country or lunatic fanatic to use one. The US will always have them or the next step up. Even if they could design a 100% effective missile shield I would expect some ICBMs and tactical nuclear weapons to be fielded, as nothing is 100%.

The ROF is deliberately lowered so it does not lag the game. Each and every round is tracked in OFP, a tracer made for it (usually) and then OFPs lag intensive smoke made on impact. All this information must be sent to the client to the server then back to the clients. If it was 1 A10 it may not be horrible, but if it where several then it would be bad.

But you will have to pay for the new island, vehicles, campaign, and most likey the improved textures in an expansion called Resistance. To simply give all that work and cost away in a patch is moronic and at a negative profit to their company.

The Bradley Commander has 3 periscopes to look out of 1 forward, one 45 degrees to the right and 1 90 degrees to the right. Unfortunately the only one you can actually look out of well is the forward scope using the V key. The M2A2 is realistic and proper, unfortunately a game limitation prevents the proper use of the other periscopes.

Working as designed however does not mean it is a good implimentation of the idea. implications was suppose to be implementation in the above post also.

Some look at it as a bug, others look at it as a feature like avon. If I where to apply avons line of thought to it, I would have to say that this is perhaps one of the worst implications of richoette or fragmentation I have ever seen. Since when did the eleventh bullet shot at your feet from a crouch kill you every time. It spawns from the bullet impact is actually a small explosion, and this explosion will hurt you if in close proximity. Eleven of these minature explosions and you die. Perhaps its a limitation of OFP's engine. I however find it ridiculous to die from a dozen but clean miss shots from a sniper. Because if you've ever noticed, when you shoot the ground you tend to make a tiny hole in it. Soil = the best bullet stop ever.

Foreign software, films, books, etc and many other easily copiable products are not worth marketing in mainland China. Due to the lack of meaningfull copyright laws and the fact that those that do exist aren't enforced, means millions if not billions in losses to foreign industries to China. Of course do you really think the Chinese government would care if foreign industries where being hurt. One of the biggest if not the biggest difficulties facing U.S. technology industry is industrial espionage by Chinese industries. I forgot the number but it was somewhere in the billion dollar region in losses due to Chinese theft of finished R&D products by U.S. companies. Which the Chinese then produce at prices that U.S. companies can't compete with because they must pay off their reasearch and development. Which these Chinese companies do not have to do because they stole the product and research.

All I want to see is a Mi-2 Hoplite so mission designers can have a comparable helicopter for the russians to the UH60MG, and don't put blackhawks in for the russians. BTW what is up with the warped rotor modeling on the UH60?

Your going to have to give alot more information if you want people to be able to offer solutions. What is your operating system? What version of directx do you have installed? How long has your operating system been used without a fresh install, or more importantly a hard drive deframentation? What version of drivers are you using for your soundcard, videocard, and motherboard. Do any other online games near bandwidth intensive as ofp "lag" like this? Have you overclocked your video card or your CPU, motherboard? Have you changed (if possible) any voltage levels on your motherboard? Have you tried (with win2k/xp/ME) turning off Vsync and prerendered frames with a tool like Rivatuner? Have you tried some of the tools and tests available at www.dslreports.com to diagnose your connection? You have to give alot more info, almost anything you can think of if you want people to give helpful advice, otherwise its mearly a shot in the dark.

Holding Alt is a bug, and technically an exploit when used in multiplayer. And at range your sight will "float" heatbeat, respiration, various muscle movements thru the body, wind many things will continue to cause the rifle's aim to change. It is physically impossible to hold a rifle dead on target without the sight moving the slightest amount.

The guy can't even keep a straight face for Christ's sake. Â I mean you look at Kennedy, Nixon, or even Clinton, and you knew you wouldn't wanna fuck with them. Â But Bush is like a little Texas hillbilly redneck with a shotgun in his mouth, speaking with a foul slacked jaw yokel accent, guarding his cows in a ranch. Â And this is the guy the much praised (?) American public voted for. Â I think he should leave such important matters to those who have been propertly educated.<span id='postcolor'> So being a hillbilly is a bad thing? And putting redneck and hillbilly in the same sentence shows your understanding of culture, as they are slangs for two quite different groups of people. If you would attempt to read American history you would note alot of notable people have orginated from the area of "speaking with a foul slacked jaw yokel accent". And to Hardliner; Much like true communsim, true democracy does not exist. Its called humanity- greed, vanity, and our thirst for power will forever prevent this.

So by that definition - When I go hunting I am therefore a terrorist because I'm a armed human in civilian clothing...... that makes a whole hell of alot of sense......not.

While the pixel shading for Night with Geforce3/4 owners is nice when your out in the middle of a field or forest, it looks very odd when you put the light of a vehicle on anything. The trees are grey/white, the ground is white etc. etc. Vehicle lights/flares need to do what static lights in towns do and actually show color. I've spent many many weekends and weeks in the woods where I grew up and everytime I use a flashlight in the dead of night you do see color where the light is shining.
