  2. AZURE BANNER is the code name to a series of missions that will take place along the Iraqi-Syrian border. This is the first of a series and there will be an ACE/ACRE compatible version soon. Uprisings in Syria have begun to destabilize the government's hold on critical systems, including WMD. The National Command Authority has authorized US JSOF to interdict WMD components and related intel within Syria on a highly covert and selective basis. Your first objective is the recovery of intelligence items. These will enable us to interdict an impending WMD transit across the border into Iraq. This is a dead of night mission. Get in, get the stuff and get out. Hopefully nothing will go wrong. Hope you all enjoy this mission!   6. Do you have a helipad set on the ground? Is the landing waypoint set to GET OUT or TRANSPORT UNLOAD? Do you have the _helicopter land "LAND" command anywhere?

A renegade general is meeting a prominent UK militant and MI-6 believe that the transaction is happening now. Prevent the sale and the escape of the principals from the meeting site. We'll be dropping you from 28,000 feet about a mile offshore. Don't bring your issue kit, as we must have political deniability on this op. Once you make your drop zone, meet up with one of our agents who brought some clean weapons. Load up, move out and assault the objective. You'll need to secure your own means of extraction. We're sure you'll manage. Well, that's you off then. (Notes: There is the possibility that any or all of the personnel attending the meeting may surrender. Do not expect it.     Just a thought, real Eotechs and Aimpoints have an intensity control, where the user dials down the brightness when using NVGs. Don't know if the game even allow for that but if you could put that functionality in this mod, Lennard.. you would be a jedi master.

    COL Stagler, thanks for the tip! What a nice weapon pack! Variable, thanks for your comments.. I wanted to make a vanilla version, but the available weapons didn't quite "fit" to me.. I still might, so that more players can enjoy this mission. My next missions will have less and less mods. I'm not a believer in having to download for an hour to play one mission.
  10. Finally a REAL airport runway! I can't wait to start flying the pattern in this. One note.. The diagram indicates the runway is 09/24 not 27. I'm sure that was just a boo boo.

    As a long time ArmA pilot, also using other flying sims (MS flightsim, IL2, Falcon 4.0, etc.) I would LOVE to have airspeed given in KNOTS indicated (kias) rather than KPH. That's a ground speed number. It makes it so much easier to think, plan approaches and land when you have a real world number for your airspeed. And also, to have Altitude given that's ASL rather than AGL. I know that exists now, but it's not displayed on any HUD that I know of. But with ASL altitude, it's easier to maintain a level flight path, both for human and AI. Also I know that A2/OA simulates wind direction for smoke etc. don't know if it affects aircraft. But it should. I should have to deal with xwinds on approach. Just sayin!

  14. Hey guys, I LOVE I44 and have spent WAY too much time enjoying it. I also was inspired to make a mission for the excellent Normandy map, and here it is. It's my first major ArmA 2 mission and I hope you all enjoy it. 2nd Platoon, F Company, 506th PIR is undertaking a special assignment separate from the rest of the Regiment. You are tasked with the securing of a road leading from the eastern causeway, and reducing of German defenses in that area. As your plane approaches the drop zone, it shudders from intense ground fire. The Lieutenant and most of 1st Squad are killed, and the plane is starting to burn. Along with a few other troopers, you push to the door and bail out. Hopefully you will survive the short trip to the ground. Welcome to France.     Apaches, if present, would likely have been at a higher altitude and moving a bit faster than hovering MH-60s, who were rolling to a hover for fastrope insertion. Did this helo nick a power line? Did the pilot experience loss of a/c control? Was there groundfire? We may never know for a while. Frankly the only thing that would completely satisfy me would be to read the entire AAR. Probably won't be made public until I'm a very old man.

    Hey fellow addicts, this is my first full mission for ArmA2/OA. I hope you all like it! This mission requires the excellent Lingor island and units from Icebreakr. PRISON RIOT - LINGOR You are an operator in the elite Counter Drug Response Team (CDRT), a unit put together by the Lingor Ministry of Public Safety. Your mission is the eradication of drug factories on the island, as well as enforcement of drug crimes. Your unit is comprised of a mix of Army soldiers and FEA Police Commandos. This morning, an emergency call came in about a riot breaking out in Lingor Prison. That's normally the Ministry of Corrections' responsibility, but something about this one doesn't feel right.
