    Same here, extracted the opx objects into my projects ca folder, unrap all the .bins, add the objects in visitor and I get nadda. White textures and they don't show up in game at all. I even opened up afghan village and copied the class : house lines into my own config and that didn't seem to help at all.

    16bit greyscale PNG image saved with no interlace? I don't even have to open it up in wilbur, my terrains go directly from photoshop to visitor. I use .pbl to import my terrains.

    One way for me is to use photoshop to design a topographical map. Here is an example of a topographic map. If you have an actual location you want to emulate then that will be even better then designing your own from scratch. You take each layer (I used 20 meters) of your map and judge a scale from light to dark(light being highest point, and dark being lowest). What I did was for every 20-30 meters I increased the RGB brightness of each layer by a factor of 5. My map had a low/max height of -50 meters by 720 meters. The water level ended up being an RGB level of 70. I used a pollygonal lasso tool and traced each layer over the topographical image. You can use feathering in order to make your edges more curved but it does not matter as you will be applying a blur when finished. In that case it might be best to use jagged lines or else you will loose detail. Also its important to consider how many lines to use based on the height of your map, a greater number will mean a lower blur needs to be applied. which of course means your terrain will have more detail. once tracing was complete I of course used the paint bucket to fill and moved onto the next layer. Once finished, I applied a large enough blur in order to mold the lines together. Of course to add detail I used standard brush methods in photoshop to add features like better coastlines, flatter roads, lakes, rivers, valleys, erosion, etc. This is just one method which takes a lot of patience in photoshop but I find it has the most pleasing outcome then spending hours in wilbur with sub-par results. If using satellite images for your sat texture then you will find you will get much better texture alignment with topographical maps then using satallite data method to create your terrain. This is due to the angle at which the data was recorded in high orbit. I hope this helps. Â

    Thanks to Wikipedia - good luck with the project mate Actually that number has doubled in the last 2 years. I have been on the island and surrounding islands by boat personally so I am really enjoying building this island. I grabbed a topographic map from my local library and pieced together each 20meter layer into photoshop so the terrain is absolutely beautiful and exact. When I imported the sat texture over it, it matched prefectly(slight minor adjustments will be needed to the coast lines of course). Oh and I carved out a river to the lake in the middle to make the map more interesting as I wanted to add a few bridges and a nice riverside drive. Will post some pictures in a few weeks when I finish the terrain. Very exciting.

    I have a dilemma where if I add (as an example) 50 AI per side and play test it, after about a minute of play it crashes to desktop.     4096 map problem

    Save from wilbur as a PNG surface with 16/b. Open in photoshop and feel free to edit it here. You need and make sure it is 16b greyscale and that you select interlaced when saving. Then import terrain from picture into visitor and it should be squared away.

    I reinstalled arma and the tools so that fixed most of the smaller issues. Binpbo works exactly the way it should now and yes I do import the sat and mask as text. Ok. so now do I copy all of the folders to CA or do I only move the buildings, plants, roads, rocks, misc folders? nevermind, I see what it did. :P repacking island.

    Bull Dozer Converting Problem

    I'm losing patience which is rare for me. It starts with a series of problems that the only logical solution would be to reinstall the tools. Then my island stops showing up in game. I know it is not a config error because prior to reinstalling the tools my island would binarize with binpbo and show up in the editor just fine. Heres the story so far. My main island Kandahar was crashing so I was trying different things in order to get the CTI objects to work. I had resorted to a test which removed all of the CTI objects from my island in order to resolve the crashing issue. But I was getting more and more problems popping up after each change. My texview was not working and I was having difficulty creating paa's as well as Binpbo going blank after re-opening the program so my nerves were frayed. I resorted to a reinstall of the tools. So this leads me to this thread after I notice Buldozer was not working the way it should. I was opening my Islands in the new tools and running binpbo but my islands were not showing up in Arma. One after the other they would dissapear from the editor list after binarizing. After many frustrating hours of the usual fiddling around and a complete re-importation followed by a copy and paste of all the objects into the island, it...still....will...not...show UP. Am I to believe certain tools were damaged in the 1.14 patch? How can that be if others like Opteryx are able to finish and release islands? Tonight my final step will be to completely remove the tools, P directory, Arma and any other files associated with it and start from scratch(after backing up islands and profile settings of course). But this is a losing battle I fear I will not win.
