Hi guys.. right no I don't wanna be a spaming mp noob.. but I have noticed that the old way of importing .ogg files in to player folder and creating a folder called Sound not longer works? whats new? whats changed? Cheers Postal p.s and I did search "custom sounds"

Hi Guys.. ok I know when you have a faulty dimm.. its best to get it replaced... but @ the moment with it being xmas and i'm skint.. basicly after I noticed I have 2048mb of ram installed and windows is only showing 2046mb.. I thought humm somthings a miss.. so ran memtest 86... ok it passed the first few cycles fine. So left it on all night.. now I have 3 fails and 12 passes.. the 3 fails failed on test 8 which is the ones and zeros test.. is this a biggy? or do you guys think it would be ok to run like this for a few more months? 2x1 gig Geil memory one dim faulty.

Madmossy yeah think u hit the nail on the head there.. ok well tested the memory dimm one @ a time all tests passed on both.. sticks.. reseated them put them both back in.. and no errors.. Â sweet also ran Pc check http://www.eurosoft-uk.com/ which I nabbed ahum borrowed from work.. and all passed there also.. and found that the 2mb i'm missing on my memory was due to having memory hole enabled in the bios.. which is no biggy now i know where its gone.. but I may disable it at some pont.. Â cheers for all ya input guys. p.s Sorry Geil for slaging you off... but your customer service is still shit!

Guess that was the reson for all the off-set errors and CTD I have been getting in ArmA. Right one gig it is then   and I'll add a Bigger page file as i'll be a gig down. Geil seems crap 2 diffrent rigs in 2 years and one dimm out of the 2 packs of 1 gig sticks have failed. guess thats what u get for skimping.

U know u may sometimes hear spam from other players online line I dunno some tune playing.. or a qoute from a movie.. well the play who is playing them has made the sounds in imported it into the game.. by creating an ogg file.. and putting it in there profile.

I agree.. and to the ppl who are sitting back complaining about all the bugs and doing nothing to help the situation.. I have a question.. arn't you guys.. the ones asking for this game to be released as soon as? cut them some slack guys.

Not getting an issue myself.. what Graphics card are u using? and are you prone while using binoculars and sniper.. maybe theres some grass in the way?

Yeah you have a problem.. I work with this crap every day.. Im a diagnostics engineer currently for HP.. but previously on dell, IBM.. this is defo a hardware fault.. first off I would test your memory this is the most likley causes if the IRQ error.. but has also been know to be a motherboard fault. sorry for the bad news. 80% memory fault I would say.. theres lots of free memory test software out there.. but do not d/load a windows installation memory checker as not all the memory will be tested as windows keeps a big chunk for its self.. try mem test 98+ http://www.memtest86.com/ lol sorry just fully read your post.. if u have used memtest with no errors then m8 I would save up for a new mobo.

Had that problem Ages ago not with ArmA. but another game.. try reinstalling your Display Drivers.

All I can think guys who are having issues installing the patch is.. do a fresh install Delete the arma folder from the C:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents. and delete the 6th sence folder that will still be in your installation Dir ArmA. reboot!! install from scratch close all running applications.. d/load a number of patchs 2x 1.01 but each from a diffrence sorce that way if one is corrupt use the other.. same with 1.02.. after a successful install.. patch to 1.01 only if you have the retail copys and not the d/load.. if you have the d/load install straight to the 1.02v.. Â ok so after a successful install- retail copys install patch 1.01v and then 1.02v and see how it go's remember the chez to english patch.. and german to english patch you need v0.9. and yes it should work fine with a update from 1.00v straight to 1.02v but that didn't work for me so i'm just showing ppl my way to see if it helps.

Yeah I also had some issues when installing the patch.. I have the German retail copy.. I found that installing the 1.01 patch and then the 1.02 patch works fine.. Don't know if installing ArmA, to a diffrent hdd has anything to do with the files not being able to be verified, from 1.00 to 1.02.. so basicly if u are having trouble just install the 1.01 patch b4 you install the 1.02 patch. what copy do u own? and do u have it installed to the default Dir? Cracking patch though.. not getting one CTD now.

Just a quick word that the Dedicated LOL ArmA server is up and running.. Its a Coop only server with a vast number of new coop maps now avalible. Â A number of which have been created by members. Ran a full systems diag with PC check and a number of other programs.. this is not a hardware fault... all drivers are the latest.. game working fine for a week.. played online d/loaded a custom made map.. on m/p and now game seems to constantly crash to desktop.. with an Offset error.. is anyone else getting this problem or is it just me? any help would be apresheated cheers.

ok.. i'm also starting to get CTD.. offset error.. game was working fine for about a week untill now.. I will delete the config file and see if it helps. drivers are upto date

What a top Bollox Game.. loved ofp.. love this more.. first off the m/p coop is what floats my boat.. rare now a days you will find a game where so many ppl work as a team.. yeah you will get the odd BF2 tosser that wants to go rambo.. but now theres a few good custom maps starting to come to light. I have found that if u can find a server with good up stream and down stream you will have no lag issues.. mainly go for a server where the ping is under 100.. and I have had no load time issues. Choppers.. gawd I found the controls alot diffrent from OFP took me a few days to get into it.. but with the help of my trusty and rusty Cyborg Evo and a few tweaks here and there I love it.. so much more real.. than just arrow keys and mouse. Graphics.. amazing yeah I have to run the game on normal settings.. but hell it still looks like a work of art.. great detail weapons look authentic.. enviroments look great.. weather changing.. star constellation.. ocean tides.. little things like flys around bodys that have been dead for a while.. all add up.. some times its the attention to detail that makes a great game. single player campaign.. didn't enjoy it as much as ofp.. just my opinion.. I like the whole idea in ofp that your a new recrute ect.. and really liked the pilot down behind N.M.E lines mission where by you have sweet F all and need to make it back to your base.. have to find your bearings from the north star and head south.. shame there as nothing like this in ArmA.. did enjoy the campagin map where by u select the missions you wanna play.. has replay value.. as for most of the campagin you will select 2 out of the 3 before progressing on.. so theres normaly one mission you will not be able to do unless u replay again or revert back. so my opinion of ofp.. fucking amazing and its only gonna get bigger and better.. word to the delevlopers.. you've done a cracking job.. and in the expantion packs any chance of a envoroment mission where by your up a creak with out a paddle?

Ok Placebo.. I have reinstalled ArmA.. also deleted the files in C:\Documents and Settings\Postal\My Documents... so fresh install.. and no language patch.. think I could be still getting the error message... this it what I got when trying to connect to a server.. "Sie Wurden aus Dem Spiel Entfernt" which I guess is I was removed from play?? why is this?? hope no one is using my key.

nope.. all I did was patch the german copy to 1.01.. and applied the german to english patch.. weather the patch has somthing to do with it I don't know.
