Must be missing alot of libs, not too keen on installing them either.

Thanks for the quick reply. Assume once using the beta mod on the server, only players updated themselves can join? Right ive managed to get it loading a standard mission (without beta content) problem is now its not reading the mpmissions directory, its looking for "MPMissions". If I rename to match the case doesn't take effect. Will carry on trying, and if not go to the beta. Thanks ---------- Post added at 01:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:04 PM ---------- Also I don't have ./tolower as script in the arma2 linux server package.

trying to start the server, and getting: Ports are open, if I change the port to 2303, it does manage to create an identity but of course not appearing in the lobby. Update: Right ignore the above, its now loading however when I attempt to join is crashes the server. No error message.

any updates on the progress, release dates ? :) Looks brilliant, finally something to take Red Orchestra's place.

Hi, quick question in regards to the server configs - how do you prevent players from transferring custom sound files etc onto the host, and then playing them globally? A gentlemen suggested using voip=0; though I wanted to confirm this. Warfare, if I enable voting for missions I have warfare listed, though its not in mpmissions directory - do I have to delete the pbo's from the addons? and ontop of that, if I keep with mission cycle can the server load a mission at random at all? Lastly though the server is set to persistent=1;, in the morning I find its returned back to the creating rather than continuing with the mission cycle? is their anyway to fix this? Best Regards,

No Stewy, short of going back to a previous version which doesn't really help. Come on Bis! do something.

Running 1.75.16 Tried all of that accept for the bushes but as I see it 1.08 runs smooth, its only something new in 1.14, and it seems linked with LODs or object viewing.
-
Okay, ive done a complete fresh install of Windows Vista, fully up dated with SP1, drivers etc - installed ArmA, then patched to 1.14, still have the same lag. I think it is just a LOD issue for me, the game runs smooth until I turn or look through a scope. Im not sure if you can adjust when the LODs are used in ArmA? Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.4 Ghz 3070 meg of ram (3 Gig) Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT 512meg 640Gig Raid Array Windows Vista Home Premium

ShrubMiK - Please stop trying to cause an argument, this is the second time in the thread you have taken what ive said out of context. This thread (according to the topic) is to provide support and feedback on the 1.14 patch - theirs bound to be frustration for those who have installed it, and have had new issues apear - so witty comments and trying to be clever will only rub people up the wrong way. ------------ Going to be reformatting Vista this week for a clean install, and will install SP1 if its *available*. Its not appeared on the update manager so far? and from what read online at the time I think the release is staggered? BUT the other system is running Windows XP 64, fully updated and has virtually identical issues to this PC, which is the lack of performance & dync (not sure on the audio artifacts). The only thing in common between the two computers is both run a purchased online/download version of ArmA.

No word from BIS yet on a fix? or atleast and official comment on the situation. I know going of some of the comments from the forums a few of the community members appear to think what the hell as it only effects a minority, but its starting to look like its become a majority? Also audio quality seems to have taken a hit. Ive yet to reinstall it to 1.08, but as the majority of servers are running 1.14 it seems pointless. Yet to suffer from graphics glitches (Geforce 8800GT 512), only performance issues.
-
I have already tried the work arounds with no success - and I hold by my statement, the game in unplayable at the moment. Ive got a reasonably okay spec PC, Quad Intel, 4 gig of ram, 8800GT 512 running latest Nvidia drivers. Vista Home Edition. The second PC is older specs, WinXP, ATI card and also is conflicted by the issue.
-
Still a performance issue, tried latest graphics drivers to no avail - problem is it effects two completely different system. It seems fine until you turn around as it then appears to be loading new content all of the time. SO What I want to know is has BIS read this thread, do they suggest any solutions, and/or when they going to release a hotfix? Basically 1.14 has ruined the game (the bug fixes/improvements certainly don't outweigh the performance issues which others suffer from) - and also helped split the community even more. My favorite server I normally play on is now updated... and im going to have to reinstall back to 1.08...
-
Might be their last ArmA patch, but can't be the last patch, to patch the patch... No one is playing 1.14 online to speak off, and majority who do seem to complain of similar lagging/jolting issues...
-
Already defragmented - the performances issue almost appears as if its continuously loading world content (similar to when you first load a mission and move about the intimidate area). Certainly introduced in the latest patch, run on high graphics, X2 AA with around 50 to 60 FPS on 1.08. The second computer (different spec - ATI instead of Nvidia) but has the same problem.
