I remember your map. If I remember correctly there were about 2 or 3 maps based on the same situation. They were fun. The good thing about OFP is you can use vehicles with ease. Does anybody remember when a Lufthansa Boeing 737 was hijacked and landed Mogadishu in 1977? That was probably before most of you were born, but that is where the elite GSG-9 took down the plane and rescued the passengers and crew. They killed 3 of the 4 terrorists and lost none of the passengers. Some were wounded and one was killed earlier though. I'd like to see some missions based on hijackings, and other real world events, instead of having so many based on "BHD". There is a lot of sourse material out there, you just have to look.

I have used a map called arab isle for my desert missions. There is a nice ravine in it as well, which is great for ambushes.

I would only have a problem with it if it was from the Somali side. I won't kill American soldiers. Just part of my creed. One thing you guys might think about it the fact that most of Mogadishu was made up of tin huts, or shanties (sp?), not your typical 8/4/2 story buildings. The Olympic hotel was the tallest building in the Mog. Keep that in mind. You could use the Resistance addon (apt building 8 story I think it's called) as the Olympic Hotel. The only problem is getting people in and out of the building. The main problem with the OFP engine is that it works better for open spaces, but fighting in Mog was close quarters, most of the time. Kicking in doors, shooting through tin walls, things like that. One thing they didn't show in the movie was the fact that Somalian militia would use women and children as body armor. You had to shoot through them, which came as a surprise to the gunmen. Just some thoughts. If anyone has Oxygen, I'd start making small huts and shanties, with tin roofs. Nothing fancy. Make it look shabby, rusted. That's the way things were.

Even if At-Ats aren't possible, what about troop transports like those in The Attack of the Clones?

1911's were/are very popular, so they should be in there.

I can't get the little birds to work in Resistance. Â I get an error message "Error loading ah6v2\ah6v2.p3d (Magic). Â Same error with the oh6 and mh6. Â I installed all 3 little birds into my Res. addons folder first, then tried the general addons folder. Â Any ideas? Thanks.

I took out all of the addons, and just put the ones I knew I would use and it works! Thanks for the suggestions guys. By the way, this addon rules. I have making a nice Mogadishu map. The 8 story apartment building from Res is making an interesting Olympic Hotel.

It's a tie between the bridge and urban areas for me. Picked urban terrain though. The office/apartment buildings are awesome. I love sniping from the roof.

I spoke with one of the makers of Outlaws a few years back, and he said they had decided to go from Outlaws to a new first person shooter set in the Star Wars universe. A little game called Dark Forces!

I loved that game. Speaking of mods, I wish someone would do a Starship Troopers mod. Based on either the book or the movie. It'd be fun to be able make the huge jumps, but I can see it being fun as just a fps. I wouldn't think it would be hard to make the Mobile Infantry, but the bugs would probably take a lot of detail. OFP is a great engine though.

Lucas Arts' Outlaws was a great first person shooter. There is a new game on the PS2 called Red Dead Revolver. http://gamespot.com/gamespo....00.html I think there are a bunch of mods that would work well with the OFP engine. Zombies, World Wars, Alien invasions... I would like a western mod, if that answeres your question :lol

Just wait and hope it comes in tomorrow. Don't get too mad if it isn't everything you're hoping for. It is just an addon. That said, I'm getting pissed as well. I was at my local video games store and they said it would be there today. They had 5 boxes full of games, so I browsed for an hour and a half and they came up with, "Maybe tomorrow".

A patch would be nice, but I think since Reistance is out we won't be seeing any more addons or patches for OFP. BIS is too busy working on either VBS or Independence Lost.
