Or even Mugabe? Selling weapons is a statement. Not selling them is also one.

Â They've continually pissed away any chances they've had to really make a difference in Science and exploration. Â Most Americans see the NASA of today as either a Taxi or a black hole that money disapears down. Â The X33 tanked, and I don't think there is currently a replacement in the works. Â Their efforts at exploring the solar system have been admirable, but their credibility was hurt with the numeric misjudgement of the Mars explorer. The ISS is more a political maneuver then an outpost in space in my opinion. Â I don't think a "space race" between Europe and the United States would really do any good. Â I think the future of space lies in privitation. Â Lets leave all this nationalism back on Earth. Of course if Europeans want a space shuttle, you can always do like the Russians and copy ours. Â Do a google search for the Buran space shuttle, the similarities are amazing. Â That is just me being facetious though, as the shuttle design is aging and expensive to maintain.<span id='postcolor'> A space race is exactly what is need to revitalise space exploration, otherwise there is no motivation or more importantly money! As for the shuttles looking similar, you might as well say the SU-35 is a copy of the Me109 because they both have wings!
