It seem to me that everyone has an idea about what they want in the game. Some of it could be realistic, but the rest? Let's just say that I doubt BIS will ever release cross motorcycles or a turret armed BRDM. So why not rather harass them until they give away the secret behind the P3Ds and some other important addon stuff? Hmm..... Now I see what I want. I want some of those cool emoticons they got over at the EdCenter Forum. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â \/

Not? I copied it out of the official addons, so I thought it was supposed to be that way. I know of a config.cpp tutorial in the OfP Editing Center, but I don't understand the few lines that cover the "CfgNonAiVehicles" section. Anyway, thanks for the info. I will look at the tutorial once again, and try out your tip. But I don't think it will solve the problem, as I get the same error on several other addons. And they don't use the mentioned section.

Hi all! I am trying to make a new A-10 addon, primarily for myself. But I am having some trouble, and need help. It is suposed to become an A-10 Thunderbolt, with JDAM bombs. That is all I have made so far. but over time, I will retexture it to a A-10 II, add recoil to the GAU-8/A Avenger, add the OA-10 II and possibly some Sidewinders. At http://home.c2i.net/panser/, you can find the relevant files. The config.cpp and stringtable.csv are what I have created so far. You will also find a compiled pbo, but it doesn't work afaik. You will also find this picture: That is the error I get when starting OfP with the addon installed. Does anybody know what "Error 7" means? Pay attention to the "NonAIVehicles" section, as I have been literally guessing what to put there. Thanks in advance for any help, I would really appreciate that. Note: I have also tried posting it in the OfP Editing Center forum, but have got only one reply. And sadly, it was of no help.

OPERATION FLASHPOINT P3D HACKED!!!!
PolariZ replied to quakergamer's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hey! Why did you admit being wrong..... That took away a good opportunity to point out that you are one stupid person. But seriously, I have thought of the launch model possibility. I just thought that model was stored separately, like "at3_sagger_(proxy).p3d". Btw, while I was looking through the 3D models for OfP, I found "kentucky Jack.p3d" and "MASH.p3d". What do they contain? Anybody know? Anyway, I wish BIS would release the secret behind their P3D format soon. -
OPERATION FLASHPOINT P3D HACKED!!!!
PolariZ replied to quakergamer's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
http://www.operationflashpoint.d2.cz/screenshots/bmp_obj1.jpg Could somebody tell me how this is possible? It shows the BMP with the sagger missile modeled on top. I am sure there is an explanation, but at first I was a little suspicious. It made it look like pre-release. :\ Btw, what is the current status of the SDK? If BIS want to keep the game alive, they should release it. Right now, it seem that the whole of the OfP community are working to do what BIS could have done by simply packing some files, and uploading them..... -
First, I go to "Multiplayer" in the main menu. Then I push "New". Finally, I select island and mission from the list, and press "Ok". Then nothing happens. I can only press "Cancel", to return to the multiplayer menu, and then go back to the main menu. Anybody got an idea of what I am doing wrong?
-
True. At first it doesn't look like it, but when you look closer you see it. Just compare details. Krk = Morton Island South of both Krk and Morton Area around Punat is very much like in the game. (East of Morton) And you should easily recognize St. Pierre. Airport in the North of the island, with similar surroundings. No doubt for me at least. Good spotted Kegetys.

Ok, so Teneriffe is the terrain for Kolgujev. Ostrov Kolgujev gave name to the modified Teneriffe. Then we have an island called Malden, which might have given name to the modified terrain of Ostrov Kolgujev..... Just a little brainstorming.
-
I find that quite small. Besides, I think it is more likely that BIS took the name than the island. And if they did, it was probably resized and reshaped.

Help with mission - destroying tanks with mines
PolariZ replied to aeroengr7's topic in OPF MISSIONS
Well, they still see a little to good. I replayed campaign after 1.30, and was gunned down on level three. First by a guy 100 metres away, with only half my head sticking over an edge. In the dark, with his attention turned to the other forces 45 degrees away from me. Heh..... Fixed you said. Second time, it was by a red behind fallen tree. A BMP had knocked it over, so that it covered my view towards him like a wall. And I mean a big and whole wall..... I think it is because fallen trees does not count as cover, when the AI view is calculated. I wonder if this has ever been adressed by BIS..... -
Just to make you aware of it, Kolgujev is north of Russia. It is a little island, and not too unlike the one in the game. Nobody have found the other islands in real life though.
-
Too bad..... Did BIS state anything about their stance at this. Will they make it possible?
-
No create button, but I found the "problem"..... I was not connected to the internet. But I thought I could host a LAN game and play it with bots, without connecting to the net. Isn't that possible?

Or a hefty moonrover with Hellfires. Rofl! But seriously, I think we need more boats. Nothing big. Maybe a landing craft and somthing with missiles on. No submarines though, as I think any large ship would be a little weird. Once, I placed the LST on a map together with some other units, and I soon found that the scale was a little off. But a ship is too big anyway. But I certainly don't think this should be a land based game only. After all, these are four godd*amn islands. So the game must include the water to make it an island..... Get my point?

Didn't encounter the eagle eye enemies in 1.30..... And besides, BI will make a new patch. Just give them some time. Maruk have posted that it will be out in the first half of December. Do you think they spew patches? No need to sign any petition.....

I never played LW, for the simple reason that they had removed the grass. I loved to lie down in deep grass in a shadow and blast away with my M40. So I guess you can say I am a sniper guy. Used the M40 in Df2, Scout in Counter-Strike and Springfield in Day of Defeat. So if there is a sniper rifle in GR, I will buy the game. And I guess there is, right? But still, I will keep playing OfP. After all, I love how versatile you can be, if you just learn to use the different weapons and vehicles..... And big space is needed for that. Hopefully, I and some others will get together soon to play it over LAN. That shouldn't give much lag.
-
I would say at least 1000x1000, but that depends on what each person prefers. I don't know if any of you have played Delta Force 2 multiplayer. Well, the OfP mp reminds me of Df2 mp. Reason? It lags like crappy ####. Why can't the netcode be more like Counter-Strike or Day of Defeat? I remember always using the M249 Saw in Df2, since it was the only weapon that could spew enough bullets to hit a laggy target. But still, it was a great game. First of it's kind I think.....
-
Last time I played, I took the BMP and turned 180 degrees. Then drove to the helo and made the three guard a good roadkill. Turned and did the same with the approaching pilots. Then I would take the Mi24 and wipe the whole map clean of resistance. Then haul @$$ as you said.
-
Some short and inconslusive research, showed me that I could target a Mi24 with Hellfires when on the ground. So now I will guess that this can be done with all choppers as long as they are on the ground. And you can not keep the lock, it will disappear if the target takes off. Then again, I guess that would work in real life too..... Right? And was it another way you had in mind, SpaceAlex?
-
Well..... How then?
-
I am not buying Red Hammer before I know that it is properly done and tested. Most people should do that, as that will make the $$ talk right away. Not to long to go.....
-
Sure the mission was easy. And it was so cool to lie there in the dark and wait for the ural. And when it came, I detonated as it passed just over. Was so realistic, with the ural shooting off like a rocket engulfed in flames..... Btw, I think night missions make the environment look more real since the details (and lack of details) fade away.
-
If you get many red crosses, I suggest you use tank and helicopter missions to get back in business. When in the Abrams, I try to do as much as possible without the rest of the platoon. If I for example engage the T72 and BMP in the beginning of Killdozer, I take the BMP first and take one other tank with me to give the T72 a shot. Then, I can take the T72 with one shot and score the kill. So always keep track of how damaged the enemy tanks are. By using tactics, I got my dream score in Killdozer: 2xT80, 7xT72, 2xOfficer, 1xBMP, 1xRPG soldier, 1xMachine gunner, 1xMedic, 3xUral, 2xSoldier, 21xCrew. To a total of 22100 points and five gold stars. And in the helo, I quickly use the guided missiles to score as much as possible. And don't forget to use every bullet you have in the MG, as it is quite effective against armored targets as well as people. And if there are more helos, just try to be first and use the same "shot count" tactic as that with the tanks. Also, you should use manual fire with the FFARs and 54mm rockets. That will give you more for less, as the gunner would just waste all of them on one target. Btw, SpaceAlex, BI has fixed the "AT-missile-used-as-AA-missile" bug. So you can no longer target the helos with AT6, Hellfire or TOW.
