Hercules Driver bug & Op Flash crashing

Hi all, PlanetLAN staff members have found a small bug in the latest release of the Hercules Prophet 4500 series drivers. The bug seems to especially effect the Prophet 4500 64MB Kyro II card (as tested at PlanetLAN). So far we have narrowed down the problem to only a single game, Operation Flashpoint (all versions). The bug can cause Operation Flashpoint to crash intermittently, which results in the P.C. being automatically rebooted. We have confirmed this issue effects Windows 2000 (SP2) machines with Hercules Prophet 4500 graphics cards with driver version 3DPK-2K-9015 installed (latest official driver). If you own a 4500 Kyro II card we suggest you back track to the more stable official 3DPK-2K-7114 driver and install it as a replacement until the issue is fixed by Hercules. This appears to fix the problem immediately and results in Operation Flashpoint running smoothly, without crashing the system! We have made Hercules aware of this problem so hopefully there will be a fix available soon. (Edited by PlanetLAN Dave at 6:37 pm on Dec. 11, 2001)

Standard Hub or Hub-switch for OFP LAN party?

Hi, Go for a dedicated switch. With prices being upside down at the moment you can get a 24 port unit for around Å100 - Å150 new or for Å100, or under, second hand. Get all the players to install 10/100mb cards! No 10mb cards. Check out our site @ www.planetlan.co.uk for lots of LAN party information. Hope that helped a little.

    LAN parties.

Hi all, I am new to the OFP forums and fairly new to Operation Flashpoint. Being an avid LAN gamer I enjoy playing alongside fellow gamers. As of yet I have not had the pleasure to play OFP in multiplayer. Although my time will come soon. For this reason I feel I need some tips for how to run a successful OFP multiplayer server. Any guides that you guys/girls could recommend? Maybe you run a regular OFP server and could give me some guidance on the subject? Advanced server commands and configurations would be good to know. If you can help please contact me. Any help and guidance would be really appreciated and passed on to fellow LAN gamers via our site : www.planetlan.co.uk. Of course if you agree to let us publish the information. =) Thanks in advance. <pimpage>Check out the site for lots of U.K LAN party news and information : www.planetlan.co.uk </pimpage>
