    (Somewhat) Random Freezing w/1.30

Dawdler, I ran into a problem setting a system up for someone once similar to your situation. Â I was installing Win98 and the installation kept blue screening. Â Turns out, I had the fan on the processor backwards (was a PIII) Â =). Â I know, stupid mistake but common if you're rushing through building a system. Â Not saying that's the cause of your issue, but just thought I'd throw that in there.
  2. Hi!  I'm writing as a last resort, hoping to get an answer to a very frustrating gameplay problem I've been experiencing recently.  First let me detail my particular system so you'll know what I'm working with (and what may or may not be causing the problem): AMD Thunderbird 1.0ghz 320mb SDRAM (PC133) Abit KT7A with latest VIA chipset drivers installed 1 40gb 7200RPM/ULTRA133 Maxtor 1 20gb 7200RPM/ULTRA66 Western Digital Creative Audigy Soundcard (latest drivers installed) Xtacy GeForce3 200ti 64mb AGP (latest Detonator   drivers installed) Windows 2000 w/SP2 and latest Windows updates   applied DirectX8.1 installed Operation Flashpoint version 1.30 installed (please also note that the problem I'm about to mention has presented itself with both recent versions of all of my drivers and older versions) Here's my issue:  the game freezes randomly while I'm playing both single and multiplayer missions.  When the game freezes, the audio will continue to update with live in game sound for about 15 seconds while the video is frozen.  Then, in order to restore my system to normal, I am forced to reboot; neither ctrl-alt-dlt, alt-tab, escape, or any other key combo will work.  This problem occurs randomly during multiplayer games generally after about 10-15 minutes of gameplay (I considered the possibility of overheating, but my CPU runs at 115F and my video card is properly cooled with a card cooler, and is not overclocked in any way).  The only map/mission where I'm able to succesfully reproduce this problem time after time is on the Battlefields mission new to version 1.30.  I do experience the problem at random on other missions, but most frequently on Battlefields.  Here are some of the things I've tried as an attempt to fix the problem: 1.) Turned off 4x-AGP support in BIOS as recommended by The Avon Lady. 2.) Disabled any background services in Win2k along with antivirus software, CD creator software like DirectCD, turned off Roxio GoBack, disabled advanced power management, etc. 3.) Uninstalled and reinstalled Op Flash AND patched DIRECTLY to 1.30.  =( 4.) Tried miscellaneous driver version for both video and sound card (including the latest beta Detonator drivers 22.10 or whatever the version). So, as you can see I've racked my brain and tried as many different solutions as I could come up with to no avail.  If you can help me, please post here and send a copy to my e-mail at [email protected]   Thanks!
