As topic says, new DirectX out. I belive for all Windows versions. Just found it here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloa....Lang=en "The DirectX redist installation includes all the latest and previous released DirectX runtime. This includes the bi-monthly D3DX, XInput, and Managed DirectX components."

Indeed, when i did my military service we fired the Carl Gustav from both crouch AND prone position, it was even in the manual. Being able to fire from prone coupled with (a little) faster weapon switching would make at-combat much more realistic and fun. As it is now its suicide to use the at-weapons against a mbt.

Look at JFK´s post a bit up the page.... Edit: Oops, (new page) page 1 has the post im refering to.

Can you give some more info on your system? soundcard, cpu, memory, it might be helpful. Also is your Vista an upgrade or vanilla install? @Desertfox: Why are you trolling all Vista threads? You are not helping.

Seems like i have done a bad thing, i "accidentely" deleted the binding for left-ctrl (semi/burst/grenade), now i tried to bind it again but it wont let me. Some keys are "reserved" such as shift/ctrl. I have also tried to resort to default but nope, no go .

Thanks guys, much appreciated!

I agree, its an insult to the whole ArmA community. This guy is having "fun" at everyone elses expence and made a video of it to further ridicule those poor people unlucky enough to be on those servers. If this kind of behavior is accepted the MP part of ArmA will soon be dead on public servers. Sorry for posting this in the videos thread but its an important issue.

Colored nametags sounds like BF2 to me. War is confusing and that aspect of ArmA is realistic, lets keep it that way. If you see a vehicle and are unsure if its hostile or not just use chat (writen or spoken) and ask.
-
The voting could be easier but it shouldnt be intrusive. One example would be BF2 (oh no, not again!) where the voting text pops up and blocking the view, people just press either yes or no just to get rid of the text. I for one like to have as little text onscreen as possible.

Well... Because in a year (maybe less) most people will have Vista. So the life expectancy for Arma will be short if these things are not sorted out. And its not retarded to ask a question.
-
Have you read the topic of this thread? In what way are you helping out? Take your hatred of Vista somewere else.

Well my Vista setup runs pretty good at the moment. 1280x720, viewdistance 2500, all settings on normal exept post-processing and aa witch are on low. Only some stutter near certain bushes or trees although fraps showing around 30fps. 1.05 really made my game stable, no crashes at all. A bit lower performance but the earlier versions was very unstable(on my system). Vista 32bit Asus P5B dlx C2D E6600 2gig ram X1950pro X-fi Syncmaster 205bw 20" widescreen
-
Im running Vista 32bit, i dont think the 2 last boxes are ticked on my system either but it starts anyway.
-
Widescreen monitor, Samsung Syncmaster 205BW, 20" TFT .
-
I got to agree with GranQ on this, its not a minor bug, its a whole feature thats missing.
-
Borrowing the thread a bit.... When playing on a widescreen should i use a wide-format such as 1280x720 or can i use 1024x768? Does it make any difference with regards to fps? I mean i can select 16:9 or 16:10 but if i use 1024x768 does arma "scale" it to a wide-format and does that affect my fps?
-
Have you installed the latest OpenAL drivers? I had this problem in XP, but now im running Vista with Creatives latest beta drivers and i can use "Entertainment Mode" without crashes. Might be 105 patch that fixed it tho.

If im not mistaken i dont think BIS has anything to do with the copy-protection. You should contact Morphicon/505 as they are responsible for implementing the cc. edit. Dr. Mojo, PhD was faster...

Crashing to desktop in cut scenes and stutter
odjob replied to Daston's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Well i had random crashes in XP and now under Vista, no better no worse. Vista may have some issues but what software doesent these days? Arma also have issues but im confident that neither Microsoft nor Bis are "giving up" until their products are working as they should. People are to impatient these days, everything must be absolutely fault-free or they go bananas, well in real life it doesent work that way, especialy as software is geting more and more complex. Im patiently waiting for the next patch. -
ArmA Vista Performance/Issues(Release&New Driver!)
odjob replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
Lets keep this thread free from "OMG Vista is crap" comments please. If you dont like the topic move on, and if the forum was "reserved" for topics about "the status of the patch for the German version" there would not be much in here. On topic/ Has anyone heard/read about Vista and different copy protection systems? (as in: will Arma boxed work on Vista) Also interested in how well Arma performes. -
Thanks Suma for clearing it up, now i know its not my drivers that is messed up. I must say that BIS support is superb, most other companies would have left me wondering on issues like this. /P

If you make a TRIGGER with condition "Guarded by West", and then give a couple of (west)squads a waypoint "Guard" nearby, one of the squads will go to the trigger and guard the area. When that squad is dead another squad will go and take its place, and so on. Also works with armour. This is how it worked in OFP if im not mistaking. /P

Yes, like i already said in the first post of this thread. ~S~ CD Oops... sorry..

How much ram do you have, 2gig?

I looked in my rpt log and it was about 2meg in size, i deleted everything in it and i have played mp for about 2 and a half hours without any crashes... I dont know if that has anything to do with it or not but try clearing the rpt log and see if that helps.
