"Look on the bright side, at least you can get the game to run for 1-3 minutes..." Hahaha Sorry, I just had to laugh a bit because same problem here. Imagine what you would say if you buy a new car, kitchen utility/TV/radio or whatever, and the sales person is telling you to do this and that or another trick, or whatever .... and you think "at least I can drive my car/mixer/TV/radio/whatever for 1-3 minutes". @Lee/bum71: Always look on the bright sight of life ... dumdum...didumdidumdidum

I made the experience, that if you sit in a bush and you fire while everybody of the AI enemies shows you their back, they still notice where you are. I just think, if somebody is firing a gun in my back I will know somebody fired a gun behind me, but not where. It would take somemore rounds until you located position. And even somebody is telling me "Hey OFP_PUPSI, the 22nd left bush of the 100 bushes overthere is a single soldier." I will not answer "Yes see him ... buuum ... got him". Nevermind ...I might be at the moment too picky ....I should maybe lower AI skills. There´s a thread here somewhere giving some advices. I think I´ll try it. Hey, but the gras ... you can not cover in gras. I know this from my OFP island Anjou, where I used wonderful wheat fields / corn field addons. Very eye candy, but I had same isssue there. You couldn´t see the AI, but they have seen you. Eyecandy, but not very playable exept multiplayer without AI involved. I made the easy decision to make it at least from that standpoint playable and removed the fields and gras addons. But I am more than sure, the community will fix the issue and find more and more tips and tricks. That´s what is fun with Flashpoint / Arma. Cheers, OFP_PUPSI

Hello, I agree absolutely with this gras annoyances ! I can imagine, that developing a game is quite tough business and not everything can be perfect, but not much is perfect in that game yet. That you get sight blocked by gras but AI not, that´s not only very uncool, it frustrates a lot !!! Overall the AI is annoying. I think it is not a bug and programmed in that way, but getting shot from AI 400 meter away from you while sitting in a bush .... bfff ... that´s something Rambo can do. But not a serious military simulation. It might be ok in multiplayer, but I play it mostly singleplayer. Do not know if I am the only one. Also annoying is the missing camera function in waypoints and trigger. I know, there is a better way for that by scripting and it is worth to do it that way when you publish stuff. But also here, I do quite a lot stuff for myself. This camera options in trigger was quite nice in OFP. Why is it removed ?? Hope that this game will get better very soon.

Anjou 3.0 is the latest SE version. The non SE versions I didn´t continue to 3.0 (It contains gras / wheat fields, but was bugy as AI could see you through the gras and wheat). Hopefully we got soon something to convert islands to Arma ....

Hello everyone Thanks for all your nice comments. Nice to see for me, that you all have fun. Also thanks for the constructive input about bugs, what to change etc... I will all this keep in mind and add it to the next version. So I did from 2.0 -> 3.0 (coast line, mountains, civil airport etc....) It is also good to hear that the "lag issue" isn´t that hard anymore. @Nixer6: I like your sentence ... quite good ones. But I know, if you don´t have a powerful computer, it can be painful. I started with Anjou on a AMD1800+ and old graphic card. You should try view distances less then 1200 meter, play with the weather, DXDLL is eating a lot of resources (even it is a very nice work). I build Anjou with that settings and you should be able to play it then quite smooth. With the bridges, yeah it is a bug. I have no clue how to fix it, as I have no idea about that O2 stuff. I hope my colleagues from WWIIEC can fix it in future. Or maybe there are some other bridges out there ? At least I have some ideas about more "french styled" bridges (like in Saving Priv. Ryan). AH, still so many ideas. Could you give me a clue, of what missions you are playing on Anjou. Do not care, if it is only the five minute editor work, your own small story which you have only on your computer, or something you are planing. This is just to get some ideas for next features. Have you also been on all this little hidden places (the prison camp, small ruin nearby the canyon etc...) ? Ok, thanks again for your comments and have fun with OFP and Anjou. OFP_PUPSI

Hello, that´s really a very good work you are doing. I am looking forward to walk through the forest and enjoy the nature. Keep it up ! I think a lot of people from the community are very excited about using your new nature pack. Cheers, OFP_PUPSI

About the lag: I run Anjou with view distance of ca. 1100 meter and detail of ca. 6. It is running then with not too many units relatively smooth. It´s nice to view it with distances more than 2000, but then it really starts to lag. But it is constructed for low view distances, and close combats .... Thanks all for the nice the comments and reporting of misplaced trees. We invested a lot of time in the island and also the WWIIEC Team spent hours and hours for checking, but Anjou is hughe so impossible to check everything and I maybe also didn´t listen carefully to each bug reported by my colleagues. Nevermind, main point is that you have fun with it too.

Just report everything which can be corrected ... I will put in the corrections in version 3.1 later.

Hey thanks for comment ! The houses with the fences are more or less an "eye candy". AI has so or so in OFP problems with entering buildings and such kind of construction. The second bug is just a nasty one, while I was correcting this area and it seems that a "forest quader" just set on the street. I will keep it on the correction list ... Thanks for reporting.

So, Anjou 1939-1944 V3.0 is now released. Please have a look on this Thread

Dear OFP Community, After a year, the WWIIEC team and I are happy to release the next version of Anjou … Anjou 1939-1944 V3.0 ! I've spent a lot of time to make some improvements to the "older" regions of Anjou. I've also created complete new areas for playing scenario's other than just WWII missions in OFP. Anjou V3.0 has a high density of objects (vegetation) and is built with the scope to bring up an island best used for infantry and tank battles as seen in western front of WWII. You will find also larger open areas, but mainly it covers the style of the 1930´s or 1940´s, which means the farming areas are not so industrialized as they are today. Anjou will give you a good feeling of how difficult it was, to handle smaller engagements in a difficult landscape. It will bring you to the areas where soldiers could just stop tank platoons with a Panzerfaust or Panzerschreck, and advancing proved difficult, as it was necessary to flush out pockets of determined enemy resistance in the next hedgerow. Some facts of new Anjou V3.0: - Overall ca. 115 km˛ land, more than 200 km of roads, 16 km coastline etc… - I added a coastline to Anjou, with some smaller island - A rail road line is built in, in the northern part of Anjou. - A various number of new villages and farms are added - A second air field is added to the map. As you can think only one them is working for the AI. But of course both can be used by human players. - River system is expanded. So you have some more bridges to defend - In the east you find an alpine area. It might not fit overall to Anjou, but I just liked to have something like this in my island. - A big industrial area and a smaller harbor to the north - A lot of little and bigger places to explore …. WW2Weasel and the other team colleagues from WWIIEC spent a lot of time in beta testing. So we hope you will also like Anjou 1939-1944 as we do and enjoy playing in this nice atmosphere. You will find the download links on WWIIEC News homepage or direct: Anjou V3.0 Required Addon Package and a campaign will follow soon. Here are some pictures of Anjou 1939-1944 V3.0: Hope you will fun with Anjou ! Cheers, OFP_PUPSI

"Bocage city" ... hehehe, yeah the hedges are really nasty. Sometimes you start the battle in distances less then 50 meters, because you couldn´t see the enemy before. "Soldier, 12 o´clock, 50 meter --- Soldier, 11 o´clock, 50 meter --- Officer, 12 o´clock, 50 meter --- etc... then you really start to sweat ... bang, bang ... and you are mid in a furious battle .... ;-) That´s fun to play. Here some more screens of landscape: Cheers, O_P

Some screens which are shot in the new areas: Wehrmacht Platoon is resting somewhere in western France: A 8,8-PAK is defeating enemy armored forces ....: You might see that the newer areas are more open spaced. Does not mean there is no forest, but not that many as in the central part of Anjou. Cheers, O_P
