Operator Error?
-
It's definitely not the usual map or xml crashing problem. The server religiously terminates within 15-20 minutes while in game.. even the second game installed on the server also does the same thing. Starting to resemble a server side problem. Thanks for you input gentlemen.
-
I appreciate your assistance in the issue. I did as stated and removed the squad="" and any links that may have been included in the userinfo.cfg files in any user folders. However the linux server has still had a few game terminations still. Is there any other solution you may know of, or is this purely a result of players having some sort of unfriendly XML in use and possibly from 1.85 players connecting...

Currently operating a Linux Dedicated Server. Operation Flashpoint was uploaded, patches 1.85b and 1.90f installed and it appears to work. However, after anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours while mid game the server crashes and the game needs started up again. Everything appears normal however so I'm presuming its a patch issue or one wasn't installed? Any help is appreciated.

I understand all users need it on there machines. However, this message is actually given by the server. You select the mission IE: Desert Island Civil War, then you select a player position, click continue and instead of going to breifing, it takes you back to mission selection with Mission editorupdate102 needed etc.... That happens from the server, not my end
-
How about when that is placed in the OFP/ADDONS folder on a linux server.. the maps still say missing editor addon editorupdate102. It's there though

Madtomo, That's what I've been trying. Â for some reason still, it still leaves 3rd person turned on. Â Could something else be interfering with this /users/default/config file? ICQ: 166356917 Â if you can I also just now got it to work for some reason ... guess uploading my version of the game with multiple users was confusing it. Â

I need assistance in turning off things like 3rd person, tracers, etc on a linux dedicated server. I also attempted to modify the user's config in the users folder to no prevail... where and how do I modify these settings?
-
Already attempted that with no prevail.

I posted this a few weeks ago and yet noone has replied. I'm hoping someone knows We've all played many games on servers in veteran mode IE: No 3rd person. Question: How and where do we turn off 3rd person along with other advanced options for clients of a linux dedicated server? Very important

Been reading about these issues and hearing them also. How many people are having choppy effects on linux servers with 1.90? The bug makes it look like a lag issue, although pings as usual are roughly 60ms. Yet some players still have a jumpy type screen.... Any possibilities here?

Anyone have the command line handy to set the linux server to veteran mode instead of cadet By veteran I mean turn off 3rd person

Remember to tell your config file in linux versions to point to the master.gamespy.com as follows, this will solve an issue of your server not showing in the browser list of OFP: reportingIP=master.gamespy.com
