Hi, well I downloaded that nam pack and the choppers are amazing. I have got the music off Apocalypse Now (Wagner's Ride of the Valkyrie) and have converted it to an ogg file and it works fine. However I have just had a very quick go at setting up a mission from one of the scenes in the film where the choopers come over the hill and start atacking that Vietnamese village. I have only just begun making missions and was wondering if anyone would be interrested if I tried making it a lot better? at the moment all I have is 5 or 6 choppers (gunships) taking off from the main airbase in the north, coming in low over the sea to the afore mentioned music while they blow the hell out of everything I will need a lot of help to do it unfortunately I have never made my own mission before and it will simply be a shoot em up air cavalry sort of thing was thinking I could have a fully working base in the north, have a siren sound in the base, fueling and arming of choppers, then perhaps the air cavalry guys running from barracks etc. to the choppers then set it up so that they all take off, go into a holding pattern till the formation is sorted and then to the music of Ride of the Valkyrie they could fly low and fast over the sea to an enemy base (again fully manned) to where you see the choppers blow up everything (is there a script to make the AI fire at random?) then they return to base - it might end up as a video if I can do it - highly ambitious for me as I havent a clue, but I'll try Thankyou

this is one seriosuly good mission, congrats m8 Love it - scary as well the intro scene is cool - made me jump as I had the volume full up cos I couldn't hear them talking and then ... well you know -
the AI isnt that stupid lol When you issue an order to "attack an armoured unit" to a guy carring an RPG. He won't simply walk up to it and try and use the M16 he'll clost distance (ok so they like to be 20metres away when human controoled you could probably take out the BMP/Boat/Tank etc. from 200m away or something ) they will use the RPG but only when they are in range - they will run off if you issue the order to attack whn you are quite a distance away P.S This is probablyincorrect, but it is what I have found happens

Not really funny - but basically on the Resistance Single Misison Underhill (the Russian Beach landing) I managed to complete it without a single man making it onto the beach lol - I have played this mission about 24 times lol I was lucky as none of te accesible M" machine guns were hit by arty fire. I used all the ammo from the first (lower M2) while one of my men used all his ammo from the upper gun - I used the 3 laws also and took out both BMP's in the water and one boat with the remaning LAW - and the rest were destroyed by machine gun fire or all the men in the back were killed The G36 is such an awesome weapon

I did it a very strange way - basically where you first start there is a small town nearby - well I basically advanced with my men down the slope and picked off a few patrols first. Then I actually ordered my men to go prone and face west or whatever direction the town was - due to the fact that the BMP was investigating. Luckily for me it cam very slowly around the corner of a building so I had plenty of time to pick it off. Now the armour was out of the way I proceeded down into the town itself picking off straglers while my men covered and took out quite a few men. So now the town is ours (I lost one man from a sniper) and I just picked up some sapre ammo and put the rest into the Ural. I told my men to find cover and go prone so they took cover and were ready incase of a counter-attack - but none came. I then got into the UAZ and burned down the road until I reached a straight section on top of a crest - I got out as I had seen some enemies on the road. I killed them all using the Steyr Aug and drove on till just after the rety point I went off road and proceeded to find cover on top of the hill overlooking the bridge (the southern side looking north). I then used my binoculars to spot the enemy patrols/men - I was a little shocked at so many but I crawled futher and futher until I had a good spot and called in the snipers (who took out a few men) and then the Artillery - luckily for me at one point in the enmies patrol they passed near each other in a large congregation and fortunately an atry shell landed nearby thats almost three quarters of them killed Well to further bolster my position I called in the tanks who destroeyd a BMP and some men - but unfortunately two choppers appeared and destroyed the tanks But it had given me a chance - so I used the ironsite on the Steyr (the circular reticule) and managed to pick off some remaining soldiers. Then when I was satisfied there were none left I ran forward to the ammo crates - picked up the AA weapon and shot down the two choppers. I then loaded up with Satchels and proceeded to the bridge where some men were crossing - I used the RPG (I went back for it after dropping it off at the Ammo crates) to kill some of them and then used my pistol (had hardly any ammo left) to fininsh the rest off - I planted the satchels and detonated - destroying the bridge. I then got my men (still in that town) to board the Ural meet me at the bridgehead and we drove off with a lot more ammo/weapons

Perhaps the Tasmanian Devil is a former adversary in the Russian Chain of Command that GUba "thought" he'd got rid of And maybe he was in hiding waiting to get his revenge (the best time would be during an attempted hostile takeover of an Island ) So therefore he helps the Resistance - he manages to get Guba defeated and he makes his return to Russia (with a plan to be a hero - i.e defeating the Resistance single handed (using info he gained from them - Viktor doesn't trust him but his info has always been correct) This is what I would think lol if I dodnt know any of the plot/endings

It's odd - I did it totally different - it involved no mines/satchels charges/RPG's You know where you start you are at the bottom of a hill - well I got in the T55 as a gunner and my AI partner as the driver - I ordered everyone into a line and told them to fall back into formation. I proceeded up the hill and just by the forest there is a small hill with some trees at the bottom - (in between the two road - you thinking about a plan yet?) Well I first got myself positioned so that my men were in a line covering the hill and the flank (the road) Well I was waiting there for a while and using the Tactical view I could see the approaching Tanks and they were coming down the lower road (the one you start on) Well what I did was basically wait till they came round the hill and all my men opened fire including me - the first wave was beaten easily with the loss of a BMP and a T72 The men were next and wer dispatched easily with Heat and Machine Gun rounds. Finally the second tank column went the other way (along the top road) and this time when we engaged them the enemy tanks were side on while we were ready waiting - we slaughtered them as they came one by one roud the blind side of the hill. I gues I was lucky that we were able to engage with superior numbers - and at a short range where the T55/72's could actually hold there own.

you didn't wait long before bumping. Anyway is Firsy Strike the one where you have about 8 tanks (not all under direct control) and where you engage a huge force of Soviet Tanks? If so what I did is I got in the T55 and by the edge of the forest there is a small hill separating both roads - I told my two tanks to hold just at the bottom of the hill by the group of trees - then the other tanks fell in behind offering support - well the first wave of tanks came by and I am not joking the first tank got about 5 SABOTs lol - then my men just mopped up - it was odd as we had cover and didnt engage over a long range - was about 100metres and therefore we did massive damage with multiple SABOT round strikes on the tank group - we outnumbered them due to nature of the terrain - and when the men came over the hill they were killed quickly - and when the second wave proceeded the other way agaoin the same thing happened - we were able to engage them one or two at a time with all the tanks and so killed them quickly - didnt use any mines or anything. I ended up losing about 3 tanks and one of the BMP's

- Ok after a third try at Hostages I finally rescued them from the town - unfortunately one Civilian was killed - I thought I had done that mission by then - but of course you have to go and raid that Military Base Well I got into the Ural in the town I had cleared - but one of my guys just wouldn't get into the truck - and after a while of messing about the tanks showed up lol and started shooting luckily they were unable to hit my Ural travelling at probably 20kph across grass in the open with a clear shot lol Unfortunatetly as my man was unable to get into the Ural he was left to face a T-72 and a BMP with his AK74-CZ (yeah he didn't last a whole lotta time) Well I proceeded up the hill to meet the others (who had come to meet me half way under fire from the armour and so I ordered them into the Ural abd burnt rubber up around the right hand forest (to put some cover between me and my pursuers) Well I stopped about 400m prior to the base and got out - with my men (5 of us) and we didnt have anr RPG to our name - so I knew the mission would fail. Ok So I went prone as did my men in Wedge formation and crawled as far as we could to watch for the patrol of the BMP - and when it had passed I took a risk by running full pelt to the southern most building - unfortunately we were seen and one of my men was killed outright. I ordered my men to attack and between us we killed abiut half a dozen men - but alas the BMP responded to the firing and came charging in and obliterated us due to the lack of any Anti-Armour weaponry - I was just about to sprint the last 15 metres to a dead RPG guy as well First time I tried taking the Base I thought the Waypoint designated Base was where I was meant to meet the "Others" and so I drove into the middle wondering why I was being fired at lol

I found something odd about this mission - basiacally I ran over the jeep that leads the convoy before reaching the first drop point - then I myself alone proceeded to the village (Le Moule???) where the cut scene took over and the other two trucks appeared. - It then let me carry on as normal. So I drove down the road as usual (where you are usually ambushed) but nothing - so I drove to the next town (Provins??? Lamentin??? Im not sure) When I got to the cross roads I turned right and proceeded up the road for a short while - I noticed rather a lot of enemy units, so I disembarked thinking the tanks/bmp/rpg's would blow the hell outta my truck lol Anyway they mustn't have reached a way point/trigger telling them to open fire as the units just sat there while I picked them off - and even the bmps/T72's didnt react when I started firing off RPG's at them. Now after about 5 minutes the usual radio message/voice message came up saying the convoy has been ambushed, the guy in the jeep is dead etc. So I proceeded to the ambush point and cleared up the enemy units and made my way back to the town where you have to protect the road. Well I had already killed the small force - but I manned the machine gun emplacements and the vulcan with my men. The Vulcan took out the Hind and my men in the machine guns made light work of the enemy infantry, I only had two sets attack me - one from the sea and the other from other side - both were killed off pretty quickly. So I went out on a recon with the jeep/machine gun - and couldnt fin any more men - now it's dark as I have been playing for so long and I couldnt get the end misison to trigger maybe due to me going off Rambo stylee caused the triggers to become unusable etc.

I think it's alone in the woods I like yourself tried going straight through the woods 7 times believe it or not, but then I tried going back to the town (skirting the BMP) knocking the Car and driving down to the secondary exraction point

Well go for one of the Gainward Golden Sample Geforce 4 Ti4600 cards if you can afford and overclock it that should get you reasonable FPS (I don't think FSAA would be appropriate as you card will struggle to provide that facility at that resolution) until Matrox bring out their Parhelia card or the Geforce 5 or even the R300from ATI - you may not get high FPS with full AA on and huge resolutions. the CPU will not be the bottlenck it will become the AGP bus An Athlon XP 2200+ (using the T'Bred 0.13u core) would be a perfect partner for the high end/future cards, or even an Intel P4 Northwood 2.6 clocked to 3ghz ish (I think)

Ok - I'll start, in the campaign I personally think (and I can't remember the mission name) that the easiest misison is the one where you have to protect that facility on the siuthern end of Malden is it? It's based at night and you have to basically stop two Spetz Natz from blowing up that facility. I found it easy as all I had to do was climb that hill to the right, lie down with Night Vision on and pick them off. Then run to the light house, man the M2 or Vik machine gun and toast the boats/choppers and wait for the cavalry
