  1. What operating system? I have a very similar issue on Windows 7 (but I wouldn't be surprised if it was also with Vista too). Stuttering at low altitude when flying a reasonably fast aircraft. Definitely some type of streaming texture issue, because when flying straight up, it's incredibly smooth. I found that lowering the 3D resolution helped a bit, but the most drastic improvement came from trying the game on Windows XP (xp64), with the exact same settings. MUCH MUCH less stuttering at low altitude. 8800 GTS 2 GB RAM Dual core Opteron 2.4 GHz 32-bit Windows 7 Latest nvidia display drivers in both cases.

No more... not explanations... nothing... In Vista and Xp... the same error... any idea?? Thanks guys!! This happens when you run the dedicated server directly from the exe. You need to make a shortcut like the following: Target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Games\ArmA\beta\arma_server.exe" -mod=beta -nosplash -config=server.ini Start in: "C:\Program files (x86)\Games\ArmA" Note the difference in the two.

Just thought I'd share a few screenshots of taskmanager comparing 1.09 and 1.11. I run a dedicated server that is for a few players only on the same machine I run arma. 1.09 seems to be a bit smoother, but I'm not complaining since I only have 2 GB of ram and I realize this is not enough to run both the client + server smoothly. Anyways, on the top is 1.09 running, and on the bottom is 1.11 Quite interesting, 1.09 shows way more memory being used by the processes, but the Commit Charge is much lower for 1.09. I guess this is just due to the new way in which arma is allocating memory? 1.09 1.11

<s>I have an 8800 GTS and although adjusting the view distance has a noticeable effect on the main menu scenes, in game it has no effect. Is this the 'fog bug'? I'm running 1.09 beta.</s> oops, it works fine now, it was just the multiplayer mission i was using
