[Release][COOP] Dynamic War Sandbox by TAW_Zorrobyte (AI load balancing FTW)
NoQuarter replied to zorrobyte's topic in ARMA 3 - USER MISSIONS
I'll echo our Canadian friend...good to see you're still at this. Downloaded. -
Since when are your Bäckerei units ever called for (or needed) to leave the cantonment areas...especially when you consider their unique historical record?Inoculation, of sorts...I've had 4 German girlfriends during my time in USAREUR...and I believe that they all secretly dreamed of Lebensraum. ____ Drop the clichés Brain, they never amount to anything other than fueling an unnecessary flame war. Stick to the topic. Greets

Replying to: Would you like to see women in ArmA 3?Seriously? Crane your neck (ingame) and look down at your FP-self. See any room for cleavage amongst your LBE? Play with 3PV enabled? Seems they already have the hip sway taken care of. Voice pitch can be edited within your Profile options. ____ If BIS were to want to make a stand (or buck a trend) in the genre I would like to see it made in another area. That being a full civilian complement...to include child units. Those who look at children depicted in (any) game only as targets are missing the point, and that point is environmental realism. Seems out of sorts to move a convoy through a small village without a bunch of kids tagging along, tossing soccer balls -or rocks- at the carriers as they roll past. I know, I know...don't start.
-
That's a reach...no obviously not automatically. Think of achievements as short hand for social networking garbage, level ups, perks and all kinds of other cool features that the 16-25 yo crowd came up with and BIS chooses to implement ...and again, none of which adds to or actually enhances the game/gameplay.
-
Yet you continue to participate in it. The decision has been made to reopen this thread so perhaps you should follow your own advice to accept it and move on. What else would they (BIS) be eluding to with this "This resulted in some cool ideas, which are in progress of being implemented"?

I don't resent Steam... it would be kind of hard to, having never used it.No, if any resentment is involved that would come from being put in the position of either accepting a condition (Steam platform) that I find truly unnecessary, or not purchasing the product that I was looking forward to. Couple that with the way that this news was shoveled out to us as though we were (the catch word of the day) ignorant. The bottom-line: I don't -for a New York minute- believe the speculation that it was either Steam-Exclusive or cancelation. ____ I've got one for you: Based on this decision, how many man-hours do you suppose will be saved in overall development on the title, and then during the subsequent support phase(s)?
-
Precisely, which is why some see no valid reason for it...Try to keep up.
-
Speaking for myself here but... OK, off the top of my head, here's one.Steam adds nothing -not a single unit- to the game. Good enough? It is for me.
-
I won't be an early adopter (as I had planned to prior to this revelation) and will sit on the fence and observe.
-
That "2013 or bust" argument is getting old.Exactly what were Mr. Spanel & crew going to move on to if ArmA if III was canceled? Where has it been stated -for the record- that the CEO actually set that parameter. Ask me, it was just another one of their preemptive excuses. ____ Instead of demanding that some of us take our tin-foil hats off, perhaps some of you should put your thinking caps on.
-
That was tried by a few well-meaning members a few years ago. It didn't work out too well...authors egos were bruised and the flame wars commenced.End of experiment.

Things you wish NOT to have in the game!

Replying to: Things you wish NOT to have in the game! I don't want to be driving down the main drag from Moudros to Kontopouli and roll past a Valve/Steam billboard. What? -

Classic.;)____ I read on the internet -so it's gotta be true- that this decision was forced on BIS as a bail condition. -

Fairly typical (and pathetic) response that...though I wonder how much whining would be going on from the other side if the decision would have been to cut ties with Steam? -
Excellent idea...although more than likely too late in the series (A2) calender. You can always hope for a more fleshed-out CASEVAC routine in III.
