Ahhhhhh! I finally made it work!!!! I have to say that Map Air and Map Misc are top notch work. My hat goes off for the team who made those. Shashman, what i did is, uninstall the game and most important, deleted the ArmA folder in my documents, reinstall, patch with THE GOOD PATCH!!! Stupid me, i patched the game before with the international version instead of the EU. edit the target in my shortcut (now it look like this: "D:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\arma.exe" -mod=@Mods -nosplash ) without those ( ) And now, everything is good.\ It`s gonna be a great day i guess....

I reinstalled the game and before applying the patch (i`m with version 1.04) i tried again to run that Mapfact addon and, i still don`t have anything!!!! I`m reinstalling the game again because i forgot to delete the ArmA folder in my documents. I will keep you posted. I`m a little disapointed with the support that i`m having right now from the ArmA community. I tought that more poeples would had help us.

I don`t see any new units in the editor. What i am doing wrong for god sake!!! In the Arma main folder, i created a folder name @Mapfact, in it i have a folder name Addons and in it i have the .pbo map_air, map_sounds, map_weap and MAP_Misc. I'm using the ArmA Launcher for the mods Do i need something else?

Can anyone tell me where are the Apache when enabling Map Air? I looked in the editor by creating air unit but they`re none.

I have the same problem here. I have Map Air FDF Sounds and, i can`t see any of the Apache in the game and no sound change too. Can anyone be kind and take us by the hand to show us how to do it please...

I guess. I have the 1.02. What i did, i created a folder in the main directory of ArmA by naming it @Mapfact and in it, i have a folder name AddOns. I placed the 4 .pbo files including the misc. after, i put the mission pbo and all of the mission folders that came with the misc and the Air Map in the mission folder of the game. Next, in the ArmA Launcher, i created @Mapfact in it and paste the directory of the folder. D:\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\@Mapfact Sorry if the language seems to be confuse. I'm a french Canadian so, explaining in detail that kind of problem is a little bit hard. Hope that someone will be able to show me the way b'cause usually, i'm able to do that my self but right now, i'm lost.

Can anyone be gentle and tell me how to get those choppers please. I went on Modfolders, i did everything that it was told, i even downloaded ArmA Launcher and followed their instructions but, i still don`t see those choppers in the game. I went in the editor and tried to create an air unit and all i have is the basics one. When i`m going in the mission tab, i get a ctd. You got that right!!! Games like Arma are having a long live. OFP went out in 2001 and even after 6 years, i still was playing at it. So, in 2 or 3 years, my rig should be able to run at a higher settings but, i have to admit that, even at normal settings, the game look very nice.

FSX is a great exemple of a game that you're spending your time trying to optimizing it and, at the end of the story, the same result happen as Arma...no gain. The other game i had that kind of deception was Boiling Point Road to Hell. Same as Arma...a 450 km2 map with one loading stage. Boiling Point was a great looking game 2 years ago.

You see, last year, that computer that i built my self from parts bought at the best price, costed me 3500$ Imagine myself today,telling my wife "Honey, can you unlock me 1000$ so i can buy myself a new preocessor, a motherboard and a X1950 Pro for a Crossfire set up" I would be able to play Arma at full settings but, i would have to pay a monthly pension too  Arma is the best combat simulation in my opinion but, i have to respect me by not spending anymore money till those next generation video cards and processor are affordable. Imagine the wave in December when Microsoft will make the DirectX 10 available. That`s gonna be a lot of dineros who will go for upgrading for a lot of peoples. I did my share for paying the Research & Developpement fees for new hardware. After all, like a sage mate said previously "stop watching your FPS and enjoy the game" around that... First of all, i want to say to the people who won't agree with me that, it's only my humble opinion so, don't crucify me for it. I'm 41 years old, i've been playing Pc video games since what, around 8 years and, two things that i learned for sure is: 1-You're always spending money annually to be able to play Pc games. 2-When your buying a game that you can't play at full settings, you're praying for a miracle tweak to happen by watching forum posts from others like you. You see, 4 days ago i posted a topic by saying that i probably founded a miracle tweak by making a .bat file that was suppose to change the processor priority. I tought first that it was working but i realized soon that was not the fact. For the last 4 days, i've been trying to tweak Arma so bad. I even tried the NVGO ATI Optimized driver. Yesterday, i decided to overclock my video card and started to use the ATI tools to pick the maximum setting that my card could take. After 3 mins i told myself, if i'm frying my card, i won't be able toù play anymore that for sure so, i stoped the processus and went back to my original settings. This morning, i did some test with ArmA Mark with the optimize driver. After, i did an uninstall of those and went back with the ATI 7.2 catalyst and you know what??? there were no difference at all!!! If you have a Pc with the latest harware, you will get the best result. My Pc is 1 1/2 years old and, right now all i can have Arma graphic set to is at normal settings. There is absolutly nothing i can do. This is what i get unless i reinvest into some serious pieces of hardware. I guess it's like real life. Some can afford to drive a Ferrari, some can afford to drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee and some can afford to drive a Hyundai Accent. Even if i'm trying to boost my Hyundai injectors, i won't be able to compete against a Ferrari...i can dream of it but, it won't change the fact that i won't pass in front of it. If i try, i take the chance to blow my engine. So, to all of you like me who are frustrated to see the pictures on the back of the DVD case or some nice pics on various web site of Arma and, you can't get that kind of graphic quality unless you want to play the game like a sliding show, tell yourselves that someday, you will to be able to get those graphics but, there's always gonna be better games graphics coming out. Good idea or not to increase the priority on the processor it makes the game playable till they make a patch to solve the problem. I have a P4 Northwood 3.4ghz, ATI X1950 Pro 256mb Pci Express, 2 gb RAM DDR2 4300, Audigy 2 and my page file is set at 2048. There`s nothing running in the background beside TrackIr. My computer is clean and defrag with, the latest drivers for everything. I don`t see why i wouldn`t be able to run that game with everything max out at 1280 x 1024. When i`m playing, my processor is at 65% and my RAM at 50%. Like i said, for me, it gave the game a boost so i can play with what the game is suppose to deliver. I hate when i`m not able to get the same graphics who`s on the back of the box if you know what i mean... If anyone have a better idea, let me know. By the way, the link that i posted is not an .exe It`s just instructions for how to make a .bat and a shortcut of it. By the way, the one i made is set to Realtime. Beside FRAPS, is there any way to get the fps in the game?

I find that a while ago and i told myself "what the heck, it might work" I`m not saying that i had a 75% of boost but, at least i can play the game at a descent fps with everything max out except for the PP and the AA.
