Artificial intelligence Support System! Released
Mr Vibrating replied to mikey74's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
.rpt file always ends with multiple "No speaker given" for spawned AI units, followed by Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at 00C86380. Should've also mentioned i'm using SpunFIN's AISSP: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?165089-AI-Spawn-Script-Pack just the ambient combat script. Looks like it's crashing out when trying to spawn new units... Perhaps it's an error in the ambient combat script instead..? Seems perfectly stable when not spawning combat units.. -

Also getting a random CTD when TPW_Mods is active (haven't tried bcombat). Removing the AISS2 module from the mission ends the crashes. -
Hi, i've just downloaded ACR and get the broken installer problem "!!! missing string". As a workaround i've extracted the archive to a new folder, and moved the ACR folder to my Arma2 main folder (w/ all official DLCs), adding ACR to the shortcut. For clarity, i don't use Steam - i've bought all DLCs separately. I see ACR listed as an installed expansion in-game, but cannot see any of the maps, missions or campaigns associated with it. Inside the ACR folder is an addons folder, containing all the downloaded PBOs in the archive. What else do i need to do to manually install this DLC - do i need to extract any of the PBOs, or move them to other folders? The only installation instructions included were: Needless to say both conditions are met... Again, this is non-Steam DLC and a non-Steam installation, and i'm specifically asking for guidance as to manual installation of ACR. ---------- Post added at 21:58 ---------- Previous post was at 21:42 ---------- Oops, scratch that, i found my problem - i'd renamed by installation partition from I: to E:, but without updating my Bohemia registry keys. I updated the paths via Regedit and voila, the installer worked successfully. Sorry to waste any bandwidth... Still, the error message could've been a bit more informative...

-profile command doesn't work
Mr Vibrating replied to Mr Vibrating's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hi sorry for delay, yes, the save folder is a full copy of my usual save folder from My Documents, haven't changed anything, the .cfg's there and... ..actually, yes there is a User folder there that wasn't in the original folder, inside is another folder with my user name and inside that is the new default configs it was giving me. I moved all my stuff into that folder and now it works. Coolio...! I hadn't noted that new folder appearing but now i get it - using the -profiles command causes Arma to use a different path structure to the default save path, so simply dragging and dropping your save folder to a new location isn't enough, you have to add a couple of parent folders. Duh. Not that obvious though so thanks very much for the help... :o (Edit: & BTW, the ramdisk does indeed speed things up quite noticably, a worthwhile use for any unpaged ram (ie. XP32 w/ 4gb+) -
-profile command doesn't work

Aha! Yes, you're right, thanks very much... :cool:Only problem is although the game says it's loading the correct profile (the only one there) it seems to be my profile in name only - it's not loading my video settings, keymap etc. and using defaults instead, and none of my editor missions are available in the editor.. ? -
-profile command doesn't work
Mr Vibrating replied to Mr Vibrating's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Yes, 'scuse the missing 's' in the title but i used the command as shown in the wiki... Like i said i read the wiki and tried pointing the command at both a folder and a profile in that folder; arma just loads with no profile instead, and can't create one either. Have you actually tried the function and used it successfully on the latest release? The command i'm trying is this: -profiles="E:\Arma 2\" where E: is the ramdrive and i've copied the Arma 2 folder from My Documents. But i get the same result using my C: drive too... the command don't seem to work.. -
wanted to try moving the profile folder to a ramdisk, but the -profile command ain't doing what it ought to... the wiki article seems out of date, referencing the wrong path ie. "c:\games\armaprofiles\Users\PlayerName " instead of "documents and settings\user\My Documents\Arma2" or whatever but more to the point, the -profile command itself appears not to work - i've tried pointing it to another folder, didn't work - Arma loads with no profile and can't load or create one. Tried pointing it to a specific profile in a folder, same result. i was hoping to see if i could get savegames to reload faster. Might not be any major benefit but i was curious.. so it's no big deal but has anyone got this function to work?

Extended Time Acceleration Control
Mr Vibrating posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
I'd like the time acceleration control to extend downwards as well as upwards to enable slowing the clock in-game in the same way as speeding it up. So for example at normal 1x speed one might tap the "minus" key to halve the time rate, or perhaps a couple of taps down to 1/4 time. The "plus" key would crank the rate back up in the normal way, up to 4x or whatever. Basically just extending the range of the control to enable slower as well as faster time. I understand how to use the SetAccTime command by inserting it into "on activation" fields, but haven't been able to bind it to any keys. If that's not possible then second best option might be a script accessed from a command menu or something (?) but so far i've only managed this by editing other's scripts - when all i really want is this minimum functionality, implemented as simply as possible... Any help appreciated.. -
When playing in triplehead modes there is near-clipping on the outer monitor's peripheries - much of the time it effectively only renders the centre screen properly. Also, when playing in triplehead mode the editor screen only uses the centre display, while the outer displays have blank white screens. The game works much better in double triplehead mode (6 screens) but the FOV and aspect ratios aren't adjustable...! Please BIS, unlock the FOV and aspect ratio controls, and fix the triplehead. Then there's the mouse lag... aaarghh! Go into a game and just wave the mouse left and right - the mouse is like permanently lagged by at least half a second... this makes it utterly impossible to turn and aim properly. And no CPU optimisation!!? Multithreading!? Aside from that it still has all the old OFP problems - destroyed vehicles bounce around even worse than OFP, enemy soldiers run past eachother or waste time standing up, going prone then taking their binoculars out, all the while under fire from other enemies just 5 meters away. Aircraft fly into mountains and radio masts, or just CFIT, convoys don't hold together or stay on the road, waypoint commands don't work properly (ie. "FULL" speedmode doesn't appear to work), NPC pilots fly like old ladies, can't loop or roll, shoot straight or umm, fly. But it's all a good laugh tho, i still enjoy playin about with it. Just seems a shame it falls short of such potential....
