This pack looks very nice but using it on a dedicated server seems to create a huge .RPT file containing references to RH weapons. Just a few lines as an example: Warning Message: No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgWeapons.RH_PKS'. Warning Message: No entry '.scope'. Making the adjustment between laying down, kneeling and standing continuous and controllable with mouse wheel would make shooting from the grassroot level and behind covers easier and more realistic. MarcusaQ

A great addon!! Any change to get a Western version of the Finnish troops? This would make it possible to create a Warfare map with Finnish soldiers. Independent side soldiers cannot be implemented as player side units. MarcusaQ

A fantastic addon, characters look just great, thanks YacieK!! I found a bug in Marksman and/or his weapon: the sound seems to be always local to the player in MP. This makes you hear Marksmans' shooting anywhere on the map just as he would be next to you even though the distance is very large. MarcusaQ

I could not agree more on both issues! Evolution is great fun, but the -30 point penalty is not a good solution. Perhaps it simulates illegal or unnecessary casulaties of war, but why not use civilians for this purpose instead? An unarmed officer standing in the middle of open field, surrounded by his soldiers, and killing him being illegal, .. just causes anger in worst cases. Using indirect fire becomes difficult, and often the officer has to be eliminated and penalties taken deliberatively in some situation. MarcusaQ

Wonderful, thanks for the hard work!! My test (offline, all Red army, US and German units included) caused following: 1. when taking Mg34 from a dead soldier an error message "picture/vilmod2/i/mg34_ico.paa not found" follows. Gear picture of the weapon is perhaps missing. 2. Stielhandgranade not selectable by pressing 'select next weapon' (F). 3. F-1 and RDG33 selectable but not throwable. 4. Shooting a Red army soldier causes sometimes CTD. 5. When trying to include a Red army ammobox to the mission an error message "no entry bin\config.bin/CfgWeapons.TETETKA follows" and the mission fails loading. Marcus

I'm not sure if this issue has been discussed already but it seems that the WW2 package (which is a brilliant mod.. Â it made our little squad turn exclusively into WW2 fighting ) has two bugs: 1. vilas_ww2_config has three incorrect path names (vil_mod instead of vilas_mod) which sometimes causes a crash of client ArmA but may occasionally crash the dediserver, too. 2. hand granates do not work on a dedicated server We fixed the first problem by ourselves but the second one is still there. Do you have any fix for that problem available or in progress? With regards, MarcusaQ

This looks like a very good addon, and will definitely become one of our favourites! It seems to me though, that the difficulty of the gaming has increased with the addon (the config-pbo file, i suppose). The ai shoots actually much more accurately now than usually, as we have been using an accuracy settings such as 0.25-0.15 on our dedicated server. What is the accuracy level in the addon, and how can it be changed? Does it overwrite the settings of dediserver? Marcus

KilJoy, have you been thinking about giving the tanks a wider role in the game? Now the Abrams is available only for those with the highest rank, but it seems to me, that most of those players fly choppers/planes instead of driving tanks. The tank war becomes thus underrepresented in the game, in my opinion. I would not lower the requirements generally, only bring the war more to the ground, so to say. In general, Evolution has taken the best of ArmA and made it even better! MarcusaQ -
Hi guys, I had a problem of an extremely high desync value when playing Evolution on my own server. The problem occurred only when encountering enemy AI activity. The game was unplayable due to warping and deaths by "invisible" enemies. Other players didn't have any trouble, so it couldn't have been a server-side problem. The solution was not the firewall, nor the router port forwarding, but -- audio hardware acceleration! When enabling it, the problem disappeared immediadely! FDF sound pack ceased to work but it returned after a restart of the game. I just wanted to suggest you to check if it helps with you too. MarcusaQ
