  1. Well thanks for the lesson mate The lasers mounted on rifles, aka the NAD are IR filtered lasers designed to project a visible aiming point for Ninox out for a few hundred m. It has fuck all in common with the laser systems used for target designation for guided munitions apart from the fact that its a laser....go back to your transformers mate. The power of the rifle mounted lasers is nothing like strong enough for the reflected energy from the lasers scintillation to be detected by the weapons guidance head. Not only is it not strong enough it's not coherent enough or correctly coded for the guidance of munitions. Further to that no one is capable of holding a rifle steady enough to properly paint a target, maybe a tripod mounted machine gun, but thats hardly a rifle now is it. And further to that further point, no soldier worth their weight in salt is going to be standing within the blast radius of the incoming ordnance to effectively designate it with a rifle unless they're going for a VC. With shrapnel radius' of 300ft plus and frag of 1000ft plus, its not the sort of munitions you guide in with a rifle mounted laser. As for it being common....mate you must be a dreamer. Designation of guided munitions happens from many kilometers away where possible, not a hundred meters or less, with tripod mounted, very powerful and specialised laser ranging and guidance equipment. Laser designation from rifles is possible, not laser designation of guided munitions. If you want to introduce a working NAD into ArmA for designation of targets at night and I've read you posts wrong (somehow) then my apologies, but making that same unit capable of designating for the GBU is stupid.
  2. I'm not sure why you want to implement this, it's not a capability that exists. the Transformers movie is not representative of real life.
