I've got AMD 4000+ with 2GB of RAM and a X1950XTX, normal settings give me the same problem, missing textures, reloading textures I've just looked at, etc. HD seems to be loading most of the time. This seems to happen mainly in cities, it's all fine in forests and places with just few buildings. Using the maxmem command I was able to get rid of it to some extend though. Just wanted to comment to Vilas that I have 2GB instead of your 1GB and experience the same problems, with texture settings on normal. I'm not very into all the technical details so I'm not sure what is going on here... all other games run just fine though.

Crashes seem to be gone for me so far using maxmem=768 instead of 1024. The loading is still apparent though, although it's a bit less bad and it has become more playable, so thanks for the tip. Hopefully there will either be a fix or some tweak to more or less get rid of this...

I have this problem on my PC where everything runs just fine, in forests even, but when I enter cities the texture loading seems to get screwed up. My HD is at those moments loading all the time, when I look to one side, look away, then look back again the textures are gone and need to be loaded in again. Very annoying since it makes it practically unplayable. Using the -maxmem=1024 command I got rid of this to some extend, there's still some loading going on in these instances however it's definately not as bad as without the maxmem command, and it's actually quite playable again. However the downside is that the game starts to CTD a lot, in multiplayer as well as in singleplayer which is not happening without the maxmem command. It's like my PC is defragging or scanning for virusses in the background or something, which is definately not happening. I find it weird that textures of for example nearby walls are being reloaded when I look away for only a second or so. Now I don't know much about all the technical details however this seems quite inefficient to me... Specs are AMD 64 4000+, 2GB RAM, A8N SLI premium mobo, Raptor 10.000 rpm HD and Ati X1950XTX video card, using 6.12 drivers. Also, PC has been formatted a day ago and the HD defragged. Playing the German download version, 1.02, no extra addons or language patches installed.

Hi, I've been searching for quite a while on the following problem, both in the ArmA and OFP forums, but I can't find a solution. The situation is as follows: I'm building a multiplayer mission. Two seperate groups of infantry need to assault a town, with a black hawk supporting one of these groups. The helicopter is assigned as a group member of this group. I've set things up so that only the infantry are highlighted as playable units, so the Black Hawk is not selectable. In the description.ext file I've put in respawn="group", which works. Now here's the deal: somehow people get respawned as the pilot or a crewmember in the helicopter, which is something I do not want to happen. The Black Hawk is a single unit, with that I mean it's selected from the BLUFOR>AIR>UH60 menu. How can I this from happening? I can't disconnect the Black Hawk from the group for many reasons. Is there maybe a way to define which units a player is allowed to spawn into when dead, or a way to prevent respawning into helicopter crewmembers? Again, it's a multiplayer mission, there's 2 player groups, one with the Black Hawk, respawn="group" in the description file, only the infantry is designated as 'playable'. Many thanks in advance!

PGI I must say your Ia Drang Valley, which I have just tried, is a fantastic piece of work. I was reading up on the X-ray battle, saw some pics and downloaded your island (and 2 mods in the process ). Some places looked freakishly close to what was on some real photographs, so well done!

Chopper groundstart with engine running

Hi, I'm trying to get a helicopter to start on the ground but with the engine already running. I need it to look as if the chopper has just landed and already unloaded all it's troops, and is now ready to fly away again. Tried with flyinheight command but that makes the chopper go up first and then move to it's desired position, even if I try to use the setpos command from the FAQ. Any ideas? I've searched for this question but I couldn't come up with any results, although I do believe something similair has already been asked before, just can't find it. Thanks in advance.

No, seems impossible with the settings.sqf file. Also it says under the surrender settings that both DSAI and info share need to be enabled. If I try disabling DSAI for the east units, surrender is automatically set to 'disabled' ingame. Olemissrebel if you did find a way to do this, please post what it is exactly that you did. Trapper, I'll have a look at that. Russian speaking VC/NVA just kinda kills the mood ... -

Guess I might as well post this question here instead of posting a whole new thread. I'm using ECP and I would like to turn off DSAI for one side (the East side, they're VC and NVA so shouldn't speak Russian) but I would still like them to be able to surrender (seems that DSAI as well as info share need to be enabled for this to work). Is there any way around this? So can I disable the russian chatter without losing the surrender scripts? -
Can't wait for this island! Would be nice to mix it with Hawkins' excellent Vietnam minimod!
