I think the 100 kb rule is wise and should stay, sometimes it’s annoying to view pages filled with images so large that would even lag users with very fast connection. It’s better to post medium size thumbnails and if the viewer interested in it he just can click on it and view it on some external site. Since bandwidth is an issue here also… I think that rule still needed.

This discussion took too long and I think it is clear that PB was better to be in arma than NOT! Look how many complaints about team killing, cheating etc… Also the lost time and effort by the community to resolve such issues (script here ban list there). PB can help in many of those situations; I hope they rethink about PB in future games. And thanks for Dwarden.

You are talking about the current builds of fraps; in the times I used fraps it was buggy piece of shit. Hard to run it for a few minutes without a crash. In addition, the compression option was not even implemented, is it available now anyhow? Again I think his problem is definitely related to the things I listed above.

True I think if oil keeps getting pumped to America they won’t give a fug about the rest of the world. Usually such applications acquires a device context for the entire screen to take screenshot but I think the mechanism is different under directx. Once I recorded a vid for ofp using fraps it was 20 min or more in length and the vid size was over a gig!! So the app is not that bright anyhow. See if fraps compatible with your current system and check your vid card configurations that can be a factor and the game settings 2. Another thing to add once I used many kinds of apps to improve my gaming experience. They caused such weird effects, see if you running such apps in the background, see if the game installation is corrupt and there is no missing depends needed by the game or fraps.

See what kind of configurations you changed in your bios I think they are responsible for many of your problems. Check if there is bios update for your mobo 2.

200 players are TOO much even for high end servers. Good to know that arma will support 100++ players anyhow. Planetside, and I guess WWIIOL, says otherwise What I meant 200 players in demanding game such arma will be really heavy. Even if you can do it the game will not be playable! Saw older games and of course less demanding lags on powerful servers when you just host a 70 players server!

I think YOU should! I didn’t ask for animated suicide bombings I asked for kill command when the player types it DIES similes to the one you find in other games. If we called THOSE a majority I think we no longer need such option anymore!

Many armies used suicide missions as style of fighting like the Japanese army in WW2. And many of them used to give their pilots and spies cyanide injections. Calling the thread stupid IS STUPID! Plus such options can be used in many mission scenarios and can make it more realistic.

Not many. And they are not supposed to animate the suicide. Let’s say if I type kill the model falls on the ground and that’s it. Like sof2 ET and rtcw and many other games.

If you were 1% right then they wouldn’t include such option in hundreds of games. For a tactical sim I think such option is really important and should be implemented in the game.

I agree with you. For a realistic game I think that’s important. I used to bind the kill command in many games because sometimes you get stuck and the only thing you can do is to kill yourself. And many other reasons. If they included such option they should also include an option to disable it in MP. In many Q2 Q3 based games they used to kill themselves when they are out of ammo or when they want to avoid players they hate or just for no reason. In some servers you get a ban for such attitude.
