i get your point spetz... but... can you imagine the strain that it would put on low end servers, having to sync a game and upload addons to clients? I hope if it was implemented it would be optional, i know that many servers would not run this.

firstly lets assess the situation. What good is jumping going to have for AA? If you spot someone at 100 m and they just start jumping around to avoid you bullets, do real soldiers do that? No, they run and find some cover to shoot back. What some people are confused about is "jumping" being part of climbing over walls and through windows, i fully support that aspect.

lol, the amount of kit that standard soldiers are carrying, im amazed they can move at all. Anyway, nasty things happen when your feet leave the ground (like getting your foresight in your face )

with single threaded aps, yes. One prossesor looks after running of virus scanner etc, while other runs game. When Multithreaded games appear in the future then yes, there will be a big performance increase.

"even Balance has announced that the cost of hacking on PunkBuster servers has just gone up significantly. PunkBuster now computes Hardware GUIDs for various pieces of hardware on players' systems while playing on PunkBuster servers. They now use multiple private one-way hashes so that no serial number information for individual computers can be determined by admins or anyone else who may try to obtain this information from a Hardware GUID (and as always, no personal information of any kind is examined, stored or transmitted by PunkBuster). When players raise a violation that corresponds to hacking or interfering with PunkBuster's normal operation, we now (in addition to Global PB GUID bans) are Globally banning the new Hardware GUIDs across all games supported by PunkBuster (including games supported in the future). So punks who are determined to cheat so badly on PB-enabled servers that they try to hack PunkBuster may now need a new computer in addition to a new cdkey in order to return to PunkBuster servers. As with previous PB GUID Global bans, the new Hardware GUID bans are permanent and will not be lifted. As always, players who are affected by these Global bans will still be able to play on non-PB servers. Honest users should never "test" hacks that claim to interfere with PunkBuster. We have successfully tested this new feature set over the past few weeks for a few supported games and will be rolling it out to all supported games over the next few days and weeks. Additionally, PunkBuster servers will be updated to signify whether kicks for Global bans are for PB GUIDs or the new Hardware GUIDs. " sound good, but i want to know what else they scan your system for and who they give that information to? Also, what happens if you get unfairly global banned for cheating in AA? Surely they should know now that 99% of people will not stand by and watch there PC's being blacklisted.

completely agree with you, the only problem comes when people spawn tanks everywhere, and crash servers. However, as has been touched on before, some addons are not as stable as possible, and thus might cause conflict with PB as it sees a potential cheat. Last point is the amount of addons people have, after 3 years my addon folder has grown to 1 1/2 GB. Is PB going to have to trawl through this to find errors in .PBO's?

in 2 years the majority of processors sold WILL be dual core, primarly because intel have got the process so small that parts of the processors gates will be made of handfuls of atoms. the only way to increase performance is more cores, yet slapping two prescotts together when there are no dual core programs means that HT enabled processors easily outperform Pentium D's which only run with one core. "Im geting a new computer soon. And i was wondering if Game 2 will support Dual Core? If so then cool. DUAL CORE ROCKS" Im afraid to say that dual core's dont rock, Intels is just two cheap pentium 4's slapped together, and AMD's is vastly overpriced. Dont believe the marketing hype and buy dual core now (or not at least till they make a proper processor)

if PB is incorporated 90% of servers wont use it i bet. It has too bad a reputation. Nothing better than the good old #kick/#ban

1. you can already drop your gun and ammuntion, but i cant see why you would want to strip in a warzone? 2. OFP's base code is 3 1/2 years old remember, and as such it was optimised for fast CPU's and slow graphics cards. Some of the newer Geforce and radeon models (6800, X850) are T@L, but OFP is designed to put the load on the CPU. Thats why some newer pc's dont achieve 80-90 FPS. As far as im aware all my wishes for physics are already planned to be included

yes, but that is only in one of the tests. In the real world the speed of RAM and CPU play a bigger part, in whether they can keep up with the MB rate that the SLI cards can produce. This is a bigger defining factor than OMG!! i have SLI!! 2 cards will give twice as much performance. doesnt work like that im afraid.

SLI is more trouble than its worth, you need 2 cards that are exactly the same (down to bios). The performance increase doesnt justify the price, and you might get cooling issues with those 6800's, which can run hot.

what i would like to see is a kind of "CTI" against the AI. Like you both start off with armies and front lines, and the human players could direct artillery strikes to support and attack, or order some apaches to attack armour. This would enhance the "have you seen the enemy, yes i have" approach, and if BIS can pull something off like this for MP i am sure that it would become one of the best games around.

IGNPC: What are the new armies included in the expansion? Yee: Well, there's the Navy Seals, British SAS, Russian Spetznaz, MEC Special Forces and two insurgent groups, one of which is based on the MEC and one which will have Russian roots. Great... uber 1337 SAS is just what the little kiddies want. Just that it's looking really great at night, I think that the feel of combat and these intense firefights in the night areas and dark areas is looking really good. It really does give you a Special Forces experience in the Battlefield world. LOL!

lol, mine got delivered on 21 april 2002. P4 1.8, geforce 3... still runs realitively new games that dont require vertex shaders, that the Geforce 3 cant handle.

PB is anti cheat. If anti cheats cant stop cheats then whats the point paying for it, if the game has holes in ore not?

of course it is only a matter of time before EA pull the plug on BF2 MP support, and then force everyone to upgrade to a Å40 pack which has none of the features that everyone wanted (CandC generals for those of you who dont know). Beauty is that they make more money and the stupid people in the world with lots of money buy the game. Granted, some people may enjoy it. But when you start messing with EA its just money money money. Next MOH is coming out soon EA's brief on the plotline was short and sweet and reads: Europe 1942. I would just like to add that in Americas army (version 2.4) the hackers and cheaters are running amok. It is hard to find one game without someone with super nades or aim bot, and what does Punkbuster do? Nothing. You cant even kick them as they just take over admin, or some of them dont even have a PB GUID
