    Ofp...dead?

I reinstalled flashpoint when I was asked to do the music for HIN and uninstalled it afterwards. I played this game a heck of a lot for a long time because when I got tired of playing,I could just practice scripting or make addons for the hell of it. I like the general concept of flashpoint.Nothing out there is like it from near or far and the best part is that a lot of talented artists got the chance to bring their models to life without being a programming nut. ( Even if it does take a bit of browsing to understand the basics. ) When it comes down to it though, I dont find the game exiting anymore. I like fiddeling around in it but some limitaions are just too frustrating now considering what other games are doing. I like going in there with things acting the way they should and flashpoint has a real hard time with that. To me, it's more like an "art tool" than a game. Edit added : Oh yeah, and it's one of the best knowlege base for any military equipment out there.I'm pretty sure the ofp community is one of the most well informed in the world.

    Any good music programs?

Llauma brings up a good point. Having the best samples in the world can't really help you if your songs dont seem good in simple midi state. Try using this first.( it's full and free ) Anvil Studio If you can make some good songs out of this then you're on the right path and because it's midi, you'll be able to import your files so your songs will always be usable.

    Any good music programs?

Pro-tools has a free tracker with 8 audio tracks and 48 midi tracks for free on their website here : Protools for free Personnaly speaking,THE tool for writing classical battle style music and such is Sibelius. The kontack player for the program has killer sounds. If you can find some decent soundfonts or samples, you can use FL studio Demo as a host too.The demo works full but you can't save. You can still do everything you need to do.You'll have to test it,I have'nt done that in a long time hehe. Reason Demo has the same principal. If you can find some good rex files or other samples that are supported, the program works for 20minutes and shuts down so you still have time to tweak your sounds and record what you need if you're a road runner The best and cheapest and fastest thing you can do is write all your parts in midi and open them in a trial program that has the sounds you are looking for and record what you hear in the protools program if your cpu specs can handle it.that's only if the 30day trial ins'nt full. Like everything else, the best results you'll get are from trial and error, that's the only way to learn if you're not willing to cough up some dough hehe

    Mission Editing Competition

Wouhou!!! I'm glad we submitted anyway, the mission was still in need of some polishing and we gave it in the very last day. They did'nt even consider submitting at first since they did'nt have original music. Crasyest 2 days I've had to do thoses songs lol Glad we made it, MunchStudios had some killer scripts in there, they sure earned that win I really liked that pingu shoot by the way, would be nice to know how the other missions scored as well.
