Does anyone here have access to the BHD special edition 3 CD set. On Disc Two, they show a section called "Getting It Right", and in that section the actor who plays Michael Durant flys a simulated MH-60, I think it's a MH-60K judging by the avionics... I didn't know if any of you BAS fellas had seen that or not, its got a very cool artificial horizon. Merc

How about this- Remember the SEB Nam Pack 2. Which had a $hit-load of fantastic helos? Ofcourse you do, who could forget it. One thing I really liked about it was the Nose art that was changeable. It's a small and easy to miss feature, but it makes the player feel badass. BAS- Please consider Nose/ body art for your helos. Here are some examples: MH-6 Art MH-60 Art MH-60 Art I know, it isn't anything that will revolutionize Flashpoint, but it was a kickass feature of the Nam pack. Merc

Baron and others who doubt "stopping power" of bullets. Come on over to my place and I'll pop you in the balls with my .22, we'll see if it stops you.   (THATS A JOKE, DON'T FREAK OUT) As M21man said, the bullet itself may not knock you down. But the sound, the impact, and the feeling of the round entering/exiting is gonna be shitty to say the least. If you read reports from people who've been shot. Some say they felt nothing at all. But most, even seasoned combat vets, say that they felt a "Red Hot Poker" of pain, certainly enough to get your attention. Others describe it like "Getting hit with a roundhouse punch/ baseball bat." Summary: If you doubt a bullet will "Stop you", go get shot, then talk to me  Look what the bullet did to the apple, that sure slowed it down! Merc

Well, I still like the G3, that and the FN-FAL, oh and the M14. I like a nice heafty rifle. The weight is worth it if you can drop a guy with one shot. The only full auto I've ever fired was this: Cobray M11 A little 9mm uzi knockoff. The one I fired had a crap load of after market shit on it (FN-FAL stock, fake suppressor). But it still rocked. Shot a two foot flame M21man, I still think it would be worth it! Merc

Gollum- In reply to your earlier post regarding my "Membership" to this forum. I know for a fact that there isn't shit you or I can do, unless you have ribbons on your chest or stars on your shoulders. Military life is full of political bullshit, which neither you nor I can help. Example- The H-6 hughes scout helicopter was phased out of use towards the end of the vietnam war. Why? I've talked to three vets who flew the OH-6A. Two of them later flew it's replacement, the OH-58. They said any day of the week they would rather fly the H-6. There was no tactical reason to switch to the H-58. But, there was a political one. The wife of either Jimmy Carter or Gerald Ford (I forget which) had connections with Bell textron, the makers of the H-58. She convinced members of the government to intigrate the H-58 into the war. Or so the rumor goes. But thats politics bud, there isn't shit we can do about it. I was hoping that with my earlier post, it would get some of the other members of this thread to stop bitching. "The XM-8 looks like a toy," "The XM-8 is underpowered" "Blah, blah, blah..." Summing up: Don't try to read too much into my posts. I say what I mean, and mean what I say. Politics have a strangle hold on the government and it's military decisions. It isn't if the guy in the field likes the rifle, it's how it looks on the nightly news. Merc

Hey guys, guess what- None of you are calling the shots. If the "Higher Ups" decide that this will be the weapon to replace the Colt M-series. Then guess what? You can't do jack shit about it. It may be a cheap ass piece of shit. It may be a revolutionary piece in military small arms. Either way, you have no voice in the matter, so don't loose any sleep over it. Also, I would be willing to bet my left nut that very few of you had or will have military experiance, so it isn't something you need to worry about. Merc

A few questions/ suggestions for everyone out there- 1. Will the undead be capable of "Smart Actions". As in, will they be able to "Open Door", "Climb Ladder" ect. 2. Will they be player controlled or AI? I would suppose AI, but to control one yourself would be fun. 3. What type of map can we expect. I think any of the large city maps would be great. But BAS has done wonders with tonal, so that may be one to consider. When I think Zombies, I think of the opening scene in Day of the Dead. That large city, oh yes, the fuckers could hunt you down there. 4. Multiplay scenarios- Different MP ideas. By "Map" I mean anything: A city, the woods, a military base, etc. Recovery- Retrieve 1-2 humans from the "Map" before the undead get to them. Like in the opening scene of Day of the dead. Escape- Escape a undead ridden "Map", get to the "clean zone". The end of Day of the Dead. and my favorite Standoff- Kinda like death match, where undead have unlimited respawn and the humans (however many you like) are rewarded points based on how long they stay alive. Eventually everyone dies, but it's a game to see who the last man standing is, or who lives the longest. Like the entire movie "Night of the Living Dead" or like most of "Dawn of the dead." Standoff could be played on Nogova, in one of those small 3-4 room homes with close-able doors. The undead would be all over the place, whoever lives the longest/ escapes wins. 5. Weapons- Like i mentioned before. SMALL ARMS. and possibly even high Dispertion like with the BAS JAM pack. Most of the people in the "Living Dead" scenario have little or no experiance with firearms, so, they should be less accurate. Otherwise these maps would be HORRIBLY unbalanced, I could sit aside all day with a CZ-75 and pop the suckers from 50yds. But if I have a HD weapon, it gets tricky. Suggestions- Most of these could come strait from OFP. Pistols- CZ-75 Makarov Beretta Glock Revolver Shotguns- Pump 12 like DKM's mossberg Submachine gun- MAC-10s or UZIs Rifles- M-16A1 or A2 M-14 Ar-15 Bolt action with scope The possablilites are endless. Just Ideas, talk amongst yourselves... Merc

T-T and others- This forum is borderline orgasmic for myself. I have loved the DOD movies for a long time, particularly Dawn and Day. These addons will kick ass. TT, I like your multiplayer Idea. Any chance you could just set up a map on Nogova in one of the cities for this? -6 humans with small arms (Pistols mostly, some light submachine guns and rifles) -1 of Martin's Bell 206 Jet Rangers for humans -12-24 undead I think the best part would be "Limiting" the resources of the living: Chopper with 1/4 tank of fuel, so the pilot has to land some where to conserve instead of going into a "Holding Pattern" makes him/her more vunerable. Pistols and lighter weapons as opposed to heavy arms. Alot of CZ pistols and other "Light" firearms to make kills more difficult and give. Limited ammo. 3-4 mags for each pistol. 1-3 mags for each rifle. Giving the players some definant "Oh shit" moments. Low light environments. That pic of yours with the M21- Priceless. I only saw one of the fuckers at first, the 2, no three more!   THAT was an "Oh Shit" moment. Needless to say, I'm excited. Merc EDIT- Almost forgot, my favorite zombie stop-ers. EMAN- The NOTAR was tested a while back. Yes, it did cut down on noise and increase handling (if memory serves). BUT It took too much power away from the main engine, giving the pilots a lower weight limit. The traditional design allows for more weight (fuel, ammo, guns,... D-boys on benches) to be on the aircraft. Merc

Does anyone have any missions planned for these birds? I know their role is CSAR, but I mean specific missions. It would be cool to adopt the novel None Braver into a OFP campain. Any other thoughts? Merc
