I spose it has to be done every now and then so that newer members can post without having to drag up an old thread Perth, Western Australia

Ah, gotcha - just general destruction-oriented addons A bit of reckless mayhem never goes astray

    Is anyone really having fun?

One of the great things about OFP is that you can achieve your mission objectives from several different avenues - there is no 1 single way of completing a mission (it might be a bit narrower if you have to follow your squad, but you definitely have freedom playing as an Officer or Black Op). If you find that you're getting shot/blown-up every time you approach a certain place, try going a different route. It is frustrating when you die after spending 10 or 20 mins trying to finish a mission, but keep plugging away and the final feeling will be awesome. There are a few things I think are a little unfair though - as other have said, the AI does sometimes seem like they target you specifically and repeatedly over any other member of the squad. I'd really like to see (I don't want to turn this into a request thread, but it's relevant) the AI react differently when under fire. For instance, showing fear/taking cover would make it rather more easier on the player than an AI unit that just sits there and continues to aim and fire at you even though bullets are dropping all around him.

    Chaos addon labs

Looks quite good from the screenshot What sort of vehicle is it? Is it going to be part of a larger collection of addons of the same type?

    They're at it again!

Not a particularly helpful comment one must say Sometimes it seems as though Pakistan and India prefer to see nuclear weapons as the solution to a conflict rather than a deterrant. At least in the Cold War, a nuclear exchange was fairly unlikely due to both powers realising it was simply not worth the destruction.

Why isnt ofp popular as hl or bf?

I think that some gamers are turned off when they see an example of visual unrealism - they want, and hence expect, that if a game is marketed as 'the closest thing to real combat' as OFP is, that, for instance, vehicles won't simply distort and start smoking. From my experience, most gamers are incredibly fickle and (especially if they are used to games like HL or CS) will pick bones mainly about the graphic quality compared to other games without realising that a game like OFP is a different type of game requiring a different engine and soforth. But, as numerous people have said, OFP isn't for everybody. It seems that for most gamers, a game is "realistic" enough if the guns look nice. For most gamers, combat = guns. I'm not terribly worried about this, because if it did attract the majority of the gaming community, forums like this would be swamped with morons instead of people who can discuss, suggest, complain etc. in a proper fashion.

And even then, I'd imagine that domestic security forces would be pretty reserved about using hollowpoints - if you are shot with one, you probably deserve it

    Tracer fire

According to what various people have said about the tracers, the ones in OFP aren't very realistic-looking in that they can be many metres long and are only a few pixels wide - although changing this may be hard... </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Its only visable from the rear, and certain angles in the rear, because the tracer is in the very back of the bullet, where theres a hole and inside that hole, is the tracer.<span id='postcolor'> You should be able to see tracers from side-on as well given that the phosphorous burns out the back - just like the footage from conflicts such as Iraq during night-time air raids with all that AA fire.

    Sr-47 / sr-74 addon

Great stuff there earl, absolutely terrific work, and the sight view is far better than any previous ACOG sights...it would've been good to have a different firing sound, but then again it's probably a problem with the default AK-47/74 sounds, which aren't too good. I'm looking forward to using these with some good Desert special ops troops - Tora Bora here we come!

    Uaz with mg

I'm pretty surprised too that noone has brought one of these out - it would make for a great fast attack vehicle for the Spetsnaz or where anything too heavily armed/armoured would be a bit inappropriate... But as someone said before, technicals with .50cal machine guns in the back would be ideal for the resistance or a milita force.

    Something for tomorrow...

Looks absolutely fantastic - as per usual from these guys It's great they decided to go all out and create several different models with several different textures. The yellow launchers on the SA-13 look a tad odd, but i'm assuming they are accurate, because these guys never seem to be wrong I especially like the destroyed model which will look that much better than simply setting a healthy vehicle to zero health... I like that they said they are working on a version of the MT-LB with the ZU-23 system on top - it will go nicely with the static ZU-23 that AKM74 released today Looks like all our Christmases have come at once  Â

I think it had a dynamic campaign. Standard pre-win 95 graphics, didn't get very popular. It was out at about the same time Red Baron was I think.<span id='postcolor'> yeah i vaguely remember that. then there was a sequel called 'aces of the pacific' if i remember correctly.<span id='postcolor'> And after that came Aces Over Europe, which I had for years. That game was truly awesome for it's time. You could fly for the USAF, Luftwaffe, or as a pilot from one of a number of British colonies . I think it was the first sim I ever played where engine overheating was modeled. I found that out the hard way . You would also be informed if you shot down any enemy aces during a mission which I found pretty cool<span id='postcolor'> Ah the memories - i have the version that came with Aces of Europe, Aces over the Pacific, A-10 Tank Killer and Red Baron - all of which were completely addictive... Jane's USAF was one of my favourite flight sims until I lost the first CD Loved US Navy Fighters / ATF / Fighter's Anthology as well - played them non-stop in high school Someone mentioned DiD's EF2000 - a truly awesome game. For some reason it was really immersive...felt like you were really a British fighter pilot in a shooting war with the Russians over Norway. Maybe it was the British accents.....geez that was a good game... Oh and how could I forget Chuck Yeager's Air Combat...absolutely criminal graphics by today's standards, but a wonderful game nonetheless

    Swedish forces pack

Making another version with English descriptions (ie. Swedish Soldier, Swedish Crew - or something along that line) would still preserve that feeling of a different nation, especially if it's grouped away from the default soldiers in the editor (like these soldiers are). It just makes thing easier for those English-speakers who do use it. Anyhoo, I'd also really like to see Mods who make forces from other countries supply custom radio sounds, if they can. It'd add hugely to the feel of the addon, besides it just doesn't sound right if a Swedish/German/French etc. soldier sounds like he comes from the southern USA

Very nice work indeed - the camouflage looks great and goes really nicely on Nogova Just a thought - could you create another version with English, rather than Swedish, unit descriptions for all us English-speakers, who are barely literate as it is? Good work in any case Â
