Since you asked how it turned out ... I first must admit that I using that little OFP Saver application. So, I ran through various possibilities numerous times: The best outcomes were: (a) Through the action menu give my subordinates orders to scrounge up an RPG and target the BMP as I back away while keeping the bush between the BMP's LOS and me. (b) The BMP takes a little spin and I crawl off and find an RPG and nail it when it comes back sniffing at bush. This was somewhat risky as there is also a patrol of soldiers around. So, I must time things right. I guess the most important lesson I learned from this whole experience is that the battle field is a treasure trove of little goodies. Okay, I had previously followed the recommended route. It left me with two preference icons and it seemed that I could no longer adjust the preferences for the two separate executables independently. Is that the way its supposed to be? Thanks.

I know that I can install resistance over any version of OFP, but if I want to keep the two completely separate on my PC, then can I do the following? I have OFP 1.46 installed. Can I make a copy of it to a new folder, and then install Resistance on top of the copy? This should effectively leave me with one install of OFP and another of Resistance. Will this work? Thanks. PS: I would assume this should work if OFP and RES do not depend on registry entries.

Now, let me just add a little more information. My two fellow black ops are in too close proximity to the BMP to easily pick up an RPG. However, if one of them should suceed, the destruction of the BMP will also kill be next to it in the bush!

OFP 1.46 SP mission. I've had decent success (myself and two other black ops) in racking up dead enemy soldiers. However, I have been so stealthy that I am hiding in a bush and a BMP has parked right next to me. I only have an HK and grenades. I don't see any way to kill it or leave the area. Any suggestions? I just have started managing AI units. I did read the manual and The Commander's Guide on Avon. I am posting this here as opposed to the Missions Section, since this is more a question about proper usage of the AI than how to win a particular mission. Â However, the mission is 09 Sniper Team. Here is the situation: Â I and my two subordinates have the 3 targets in sight, along with one gate guard, and one stationary unbuttoned BMP. Â I am armed with an M21 and my subordinates with HKs. Now, here is what I would plan to do if I was working with human units: (1) Â Everyone opens fire at once. (2) Â Have my two subordinates target the 3 mission targets and the guard in order to kill them or, at least, pin them and supress them. (3) Â I take out the BMP crew being that it represents the most immediate threat of not comming home. (4) Â If the 3 mission targets are still alive (they should then be pinned), I then take them out. (5) Â Withdraw. How to execute that plan with the tools OFP provides? Thanks.

I visited the Avon FAQ, but not have downloaded any of the mission packs. This is what I understand from reading the FAQ: The Avon packs do not add new missions, but have modified the existing OFP missions to take place with new scenery. Is this correct? Thanks.

Ralph, Excuse me, but how can I throw a grenade around a corner without actually exposing myself to enemy fire from around the corner? It seems that grenade throwing is kind of linear/LOS. Thanks.

Are there any good Web based guides to OFP out there? I am not looking for missions spoilers just general tips and tactics to help extend my virtual life span. Thanks! PS: I did search for Strategy Guides and check Avon FAQ too already.

Okay, I have tested each mission: For the following, I get a pop up box when I click on play that says "Cannot load mission" with an OK button. Seems to play after clicking on OK. ODE 5th Special Forces.abel.pbo ODE Bears in Red Wood I.abel.pbo ODE FUBAR Hard.abel.pbo ODE Supply Depot Raid.abel.pbo For the following, I get a crash to the desk top with a pop box (windows style) "No entry config.bin/CfgVehicles.house001 ODE Foothold.abel.pbo ODE T-72.abel.pbo So, after doing some extensive testing, I was just unlucky enough to pick a couple of faulty ones. They seem 90% playable. Thanks!

I searched for the "Nostaglia", but didn't come up what I was looking for. I am new to OFP. So, forgive me if I am missing something obvious. I am running OFP 1.46. I downloaded "The Avon Lady's Original OFP Demo Nostalgia Mission Pack"; unzipped; and copied the files to my MISSION directory. When I try to run a mission, I get a pop-up box saying that the mission cannot be loaded. Is there anything that can be done about this? Thanks.

I just installed resistance on top of: OFP GOLD 1.46 (no mods) When I run the OFP executable, text is fine and sharp. When I run the RES executable, quite a bit of text is out of focus. Including various scroll boxes in the Options display page. Any suggestions? Thanks!
