They simply wouldn't need them. And on the games ending..... One of the film's orginal draft endings was that they got rescued by a chopper sent to investigate, which I thiml pretty much would have been a joke. Simply put, McReady and Childs would have froze to death long before a rescue team (if one was sent) arrived. And as for wether Childs was actually the Thing at the end, that is one of the ultimate head messing endings ever...<span id='postcolor'> I suppose they would have weapons in case they went to war with Norway?...Well...Eh...I don't know. Childs is frozen to death in the game, yet there is always a possibility he is a thing and he froze himself so that when someone arrived to get him he could get a new body (A thing freezing itself to survive was spectulated in the movie) And as for MacReady being alive...well...My guess is he's a thing himself...but I really have no clue. The rescue team sent for the Nor 31 outpost and the Norweigan outpost is sent three months after the movie ends, from GenInc, another research group up there. Bla bla bla...

After getting the error once and trying to play the mission again when I headed to the area where I had placed the ship it wasn't there.

I think I'll just add in some basic info from the game so that you'll know what happened at the end of it and what happens to some of the characters. <Game Spoilers> Childs(black guy at the end who was the only OTHER survivor) is dead. Blakes team found his corpse in the same place where him and MacReady had been sitting at the end of the movie. MacReady makes his little appearence at the end of the game. Upon whitley transforming over the remants of the original alien craft a chopper appears on the scene. Blake mans a mounted M-60, and upon killing whitley he asks the pilot for his name, and he replies that he is R.J. MacReady of U.S. outpost Nor 31. So...if you're gonna have MacReady, you should try to have Blake too...

Yet, after the "incident" where the Norwegians perish, the Americans don't quarantine this animal? What kind of scientists are these? Â well, there wouldn't be a good story if that was the case I guess <span id='postcolor'> I believe that they didn't quarantine the dog because they thought that the Norwegians were crazy and were shooting at it for no apparent reason. Of course, I suppose that the dog was supposed to be kenneled much earlier than they had ever done it due to Clark being an extreme dog lover...

Yeah, that's right. Adding the terror aspect to OFP. Thing that would be nice for a Thing Mod: The choppers they use(No actual clue what those choppers are...), GenInc soliders, Thing models, new map(I know that this isn't likely, though it would be enjoyable to have a map with US Outpost nor 31, the Norweigan(sp?) outpost, the GenInc base, the big UFO, etc.) Maybe an artic snow plower tractor-thingy that he used in the novel(alternate events leading to the end). Personally, I was thinking how cool it would be to have a campaign set around the Thing, where you played as a Military team sent in to investigate the recent loss of communication from GenInc, the Norweigan(sp?) bases, and Nor 31. Then...stuff...could...erm...happen. Yeah.
