I didn't flame any one lately, perhaps I told a certain individual something he needed to hear. It may of sounded harsh but you have to keep in mind the individual I was speaking to and what he said which lead me to speak to him in the manner I did. Given that context he was simply a victim of cause and effect, you reap what you sew. I think it could safely be argued that it was he doing the flaming, I simply fell into his trap. Then again it is your board, your house, your rules and all are at your mercy or favour so fair enough. I'll stop responding to trolls in the offtopic area of these boards. (I know I've said that before on average of once a year, it's hard sometimes though when some one really hits a nerve by "flaming" your entire nation and an entire gereration.) This isn't really a discussion for here, so feel free to PM me, but some of your posts lately have definitely been flaming, and you're lucky not to have been given a PR and WL increase already. I don't know in what universe you could possibly consider "So really, fuck you, you little stuck up narcissistic pretentious prick." NOT to be flaming. Suffice to say we are keeping our eyes open, particularly in the political threads, and we currently have a zero tolerance policy. Disagreeing with someone's social or political idealogy is NOT an excuse to call people names or flame them on these forums. Period.

Continue flaming other members like you did just recently, and you can have all 5.

Put it this way, we know a forum upgrade would be nice. We know the current forum has shortcomings. IF and WHEN definite plans are made for an upgrade, we'll do our best to notify everyone ahead of time, and even have a thread specifically for suggestions. ...until then, suffice to say...we know!

Good question. Our policy is that we can only deal with what happens on this board. Anything that happens outside of this board is totally beyond our jurisdiction, so we cannot enact any punishment. Naturally, if that person then commits an offence on these forums, he is subject to punishment. The only possible exception I can think of is if the person has committed an offense directly against BIS as a company and one of the BIS staff members requests that individual be banned form the forums - but there have been no such cases that I am aware of.

I'm not sure who deleted your sig, but don't forget the rules for sigs include a height limit for a combined total of 150 pixels for pics AND text. Which, BTW, means your current sig is still in violation of forum rules, measuring 161 pixels high. I'd suggest you remove some text before it gets deleted again. Also note that discussion of moderation decisions or protest of same are NOT allowed in sigs.

I'm not going to get into a debate about this here, but it's a simple, proven fact of business that you are far, far more likely to hear from a disappointed customer than a satisfied one. The disparity in the sizes of the "Arma is Disappointing" and "Arma is Awesome" threads really isn't necessarily the conclusive evidence some of you seem to think... ...now can we please drop this particular line of discussion, as it is not the purpose of this thread. Feel free to air your grievances about the game, but let's drop the whole "metaforum" discussion please. I'm asking politely. Once.

I totally agree with you guys on the Board Rules stickies, we used to have one in each subforum, and I'm not sure when and why we stopped having them there. I'll look into it ASAP. In regards to having multiple threads on the same topic condense to one, it's nothing to do with laziness. It's the way we've always run these forums. It works better for us, and should work better for members, as well. Part of the reason for stickies is also that a lot of people are just too lazy to use the search function, which frankly baffles me. I'm active on other large forums that don't even have a working search function, and the members there continual beg for one. We have a perfectly good one here and hardly anyone wants to use it.

A humble request to members: please remember to search and check stickies before posting new threads. This seems to be especially true of hardware/software type threads lately. Instead of posting a new topic, please check exisitng topics to see if your question or comment has already been posted, and if it hasn't, add it to the existing topic. Too many people lately seem to think that their topics are "too important" to go into an existing thread. This is simply not the case. Your question or comment is no more (or less) important than the ones that already exist in those threads. The excuse "But the thread is too long!" is really no excuse at all. One large thread is infinitely preferrable to a dozen or more smaller threads which will inevitably drop off the front page. Instead of getting offended and throwing a tantrum at having your thread locked, take 5 minutes to search and check first. Chances are quite high that your question has already been asked and answered. I'm getting more than a little sick of closing threads like this and having to direct people to the stickied threads for Hardware and setting for ArmA and the PC Discussion. It makes me wonder why we bother having them stickied at all.
