ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead - DEMO!

For some reason we would like people to have a lot of fun even from the free Demo. Full OA still offers a lot more (including support for user mods) that we believe the more fun it is to be had in the demo the more people will join A2OA later.
  2. Ok, here you go... Operation Flashpoint: * Three free updates containing the following were released long time before much of the addon making community existed: G36, Steyr Aug, MM-1 Rotary grenade launcher, Laser Designator, Bizon silenced Sub machinegun, 6G-30 rotary grenade launcher, Kozlice hunting rifle. AH-64A Apache, OH-58D Kiowa Warrior, CH-47 Chinnok, A-10 with laser guided bombs, HMMWV, M2A2 Bradley, M163 Vulcan, BRDM-2, BMP-2, Su-25 and Trabant and most of all the allmighty Sopwith Camel OFP: Resistance * G-17, a revolver, M-10 submachine gun, resistance sniper, a revolver-wielding pilot, a civilian bicycle and mini car. Two new mp modes. Arma 1 * New USMC units * Warfare MP Arma 2 * Apache * New bonus campaign Eagle Wing And what about the editing tools, sample models, even the entire content of Arma 1 provided in source form as free download? I am afraid you completely understimate BIS role in this wonderful community.... You are
  3. That's a negative. While some of the BAF content is created based upon heavily updated VBS content, most of it is brand new. Also, VBS level of graphics is generally much lower than Arma 2 level.
  4. Pass. However, please do not spread false information to the air. As a matter of fact, BAF is still under development and none of it was ever present in Arrowhead nor was ever planned to be... Your statement is not worth a cent (or $10).

    Combined Ops, how?

Except for steam users, this is the simple way: * install Arma 2 * install Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead and it should offer by default to install to the same directory as Arma 2 It really can not be easier than this. The problem you mention, I do not know, to me it looks like you touched Change dir and ended up with messed path. So if you are not sure, go to change dir in the setup and make sure to browse to the very exact place where Arma 2 is located and correct the path manually as the setup may prolong it somewhat...

    Vbs 2

I could name few points: * VBS2 has ability of After Action Review, can connect through HLA, offer tons of scenarios and content for training, real time editor and dozens (or hundreds) of other features developed for training and simulation purposes * Arma is not licensed for training use in military at all, the nature of license granted in VBS2 is completely different to personal license granted to user of a game * VBS2 provides great value to military customers in comparison to various alternatives and it complements live training very well at fraction of cost
  7. Hardly ever any product comes at equal price in different regions and in our case, I do not dare to say the disparity is lower than is common in this industry as we try to stick with as close pricing as possible. Also, exchange rates are changing very quickly so you can only bet where it will be in one month from now...

ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead - DEMO!

Well, you can. * Create a mission using single player editor * Save it (unpacked) to your profile folder * Copy it to MPMissions in the same place And... :moto: you can host the mission in multiplayer (it appears in your missions when creating game as blue custom scenario).

    fArmA 2 Minigames

I just missed this one due to crazy OA release. I will grab it now. fARMA FTW :)
  10. BAF is an acronym for British Armed Forces or also an acronym we use for the upcoming DLC (Arma 2: British Armed Forces or also A2BAF or just BAF).
  11. All engine improvements developed for A2: BAF will be released to all users in free game update/patch and BAF will use it from the updated main game executable directly (note that it does not mean all our previous official content will get proper configuration to use it...)

    Where/how/when to buy ARMA2:OA?

The combined package if fact contains full version of A2 on one DVD and full version of A2OA on another so there is really no difference. You also can find some good deals on A2 already so the price may end up pretty close to the Combined Operations package.
  13. The campaign is quite good. However, out of curiosity, what you use as comparison basis considering the price of DLCs?
  14. This is set in 2012 to be more exact. And with full respect, none of us can predict future with total accuracy. However, I will ask BAF team to provide you with more specific feedback why they decided to do it this way.
  15. I am not able to answer. It is too early to judge if it makes sense or not to create some more DLCs but we already have some ideas that could fit well into DLC format. ---------- Post added at 04:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:44 PM ---------- In near future, download only. Sprocket, Steam and probably other online services will be selling it.

    Where/how/when to buy ARMA2:OA?

Arma 2 + Arma: Operation Arrowhead = Arma 2: Combined Operations The combined package will not be sold in most of Europe in foreseeable future so you would need to buy both game separately or by the combined game online, e.g. from Sprocket.
  17. There is a campaign and there are new voices recorded for the game including complete new sets of British radio protocols.
  18. We have a solid plan to address this problem.

ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead - DEMO!

A2OA demo allows users create and play their own scenarios for both sp and mp.
  20. Similar poll (specific about Arma 2 but anyway...) is also up for some time over at BI website. Results so far: What do you do most of the time in ARMA 2? Singleplayer 808 38.9% Multiplayer 799 38.5% Editing 471 22.7%

Do BIS play ARMA much ?

No, it is the same. Back to the subject: few of us (me included) seems to be "playing" the Editor" more than anything else in the game.
  22. It is an on-going effort so yes, possibly some more improvements to come in future updates (there is in fact big improvement since A1 in this area: A2 and A2OA feels already more fluid and responsive).
  23. There is one aspect that makes it completely different from development perspective. In COD type of games you move without body, you are just a point in space with fake 3D gun shown on screen and your movement is not directly linked to any actual full body animation or movement. I am not trying to say everything is perfect in our games but mostly trying to explain one major difference that has many consequences (some of them resulting in less smooth experience).
  24. Sprocket allows its customers to re-download purchased games at no additional cost. As a matter of fact, nearly every online store allows this either for free or for an additional fee.
