  1. That is very easy solution or simply update the updated sprocket downloader to get it all automatic:
  2. Did you read the email? No, there is no need to redownload the whole game, just the downloader. Just there was an issue in the downloader yesterday where resumed downloads were not properly resumed in user selected directory. This is now fixed but for anyone using different download location it is important to update the downloader (300 Kb or so). Details below.

    Release time of ToH

I assume you should know what is your timezone in France? CEST it is of course atm which should make this matter very simple now.

    Boxed Version

If you do not mind Czech manual and Czech box, I guess this makes sense :)

    Boxed Version

It is not about who we allow to distribute really :) However, there are some news about boxed distribution available soon. The outcome however more likely is something like: * Czech Republic - November * Germany - December * Other countries - December, January 12, February 12 depending on particular distributor Of course, all dates are subject to change as usual.
  7. Yes, the game is going to be release tomorrow, this is just pre-load to make the take off as smooth as possible through Sprocket.
  8. So after all, there is a technical problem preventing preload tonight. However, all seems to go well so tomorrow morning (GMT+2) it should finally go live.
  9. Yes, that is the plan. There are various unexpected obstacles so hard to tell any ETA. If it is not this evening, tomorrow morning at the latest the preload should begin. We have upgraded the bandwidth significantly in the meantime for the release so hopefully it is going to work together with the pre-load.

    Boxed Version

We are going to release any information concerning boxed product availability as soon as we have it. However, at this time and for this product (perceived as kind of niche (helicopter sim) within a niche (PC games)) online release goes first, with some limited volume distribution of boxed products arranged in coming weeks (so far mostly specialized stores are interested). Boxed PC games are not really something received with enthusiasm by mainstream gaming retailers these days, especially in this high season for all the bix (mostly) console releases towards Christmas season. At this stage, the options are either to go digital (where in our case you can easily play the same game offline, eventually some time after release we even remove the activations to make sure the game you purchased is not depending on some form of online service that may not be available later) or wait until either specialized or more mainstream retailer carries the game in your country.
  11. You will need to download the whole game, yes. It should automatically allow you to uninstall the beta but if not, it is recommended to do so manually. ---------- Post added at 04:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:43 PM ---------- Jan from Sprocket is going to send you an email plus post on the forums so no need to torture your F5 key.

    iPhone variant?

The iphone version is still under development alongside major update of the game itself, some highlights of the update that should be also basis for the iOS version: • great new interactive shooting range. Can you eliminate all the terrorists and protect the civilians? We’ll see about that… • “career mode†• new fast and flexible download system • optional optimized Open Feint implementation • various fixes and optimizations

    Just pre-ordered today!

The goal really is not only to make the helicopter as complete as possible but also very accessible in this game. Take On Helicopters can be quite well played with just keyboard and mouse (auto hover helps with landing significantly in this case), very good controls are provided by XBox 360 controller but of course if someone owns joystick or flight stick the experience gets even better. Compared to the pre-order beta, the final game comes loaded with tutorials and various hints to make the flying as enjoyable as possible. The three difficulty levels also provide a lot options to customize the game to liking of various types of players. But yes, there is lot to learn compared to Arma about helicopters.
  14. There are two ways how we plan to improve Sprocket release: * preloading of large data about 48 hours before the release * added bandwith to the distribution servers is arranged * improved redirection to best server for everyone
  15. Sprocket Only compatible, there are no more beta patches for Steam planned. To explain: it is not very trivial to make it work through Steam and this close to release it would not help really anything. We need to focus very much on critical things for the full release next week.
  16. To quote the lead engineer: Source: Dev's Blog - Real Virtuality Going Multicore ---------- Post added at 03:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:17 PM ---------- The renderer is also multithreaded... So no, it is not correct.
  17. Yes, it is already confirmed that the advanced helicopter flight model is going to be included in Arma 3.
  18. Take On Helicopters pretty much requires at least dual core in order to run well and quad core CPU is recommended. Some insight to how the Real Virtuality Engine is Going Multicore is available as well. btw, measuring how busy/loaded the cores are hardly can serve as any way to judge real benefit in terms of performance or amount of data the engine can handle in the game.
  19. Or maybe... better... not. At this stage, I honestly think it is much better to focus only on regressions in 1.60 and once these are ironed out, release full final patch 1.60. It is really important to leave some serious bugs open for 1.61 after all :p

    TOH Mods and dePbo

Pre order beta is not intended for mods and thus we definitelly do not like it to be reverse engineered in any way. With final release very close it is probably also just waste of effort. Simply wait for the final version with full modding support...

    Copy Protection/DRM

That is one of the key reasons why we remove DRM from our releases several month after the initial launch for both physical and online versions (see Arma 1, Arma 2, Operation Arrowhead as good examples of our past treatment to our customers in terms of DRM). We design games that last years to many our users and we do not want DRM issues to stop them from enjoying it.
  22. Yes, the downloader should handle resume and even mirror switching quite well I believe, Johny can tell you more about it...
  23. The downloader says filesize for each individual file. The progress bar and time left should be for the entire product however.
  24. It is not 1600 GMT yet :) But yes we release the beast now... * I am using CZ mirror. 628 KB/s * ETA 3:10 btw: the total file size of this preorder Beta is 7.5 GB (The final game is going to be another 13.5 GB but there is no feasible way to merge this two together as far as I can tell).
  25. Pre-order beta release is planned for 1600 GMT today unless something goes really wrong.
