If, like me, you are a fan of BAS Addons but sometimes need to reinstall all your addons after a rebuild then I sometimes have difficulties in checking that I have the latest versions of all the released BAS addons. So this time I decided to record exactly what I did and what files went where. All addons were downloaded from OFPEC by searching for all addons that had the BAS tag. The URL that this returned (i.e. Where you can download the addons from) is: http://www.ofpec.com/addons....&page=1 So after downloading the addons I unzipped or un-rar'd them and put them into a directory. I did this in the order that they were released so hopefully they would be in the correct order and newer versions should replace the older. Here are the files added by each addon: Note I did not download Delta/Ranger 1 or 1.5 as 1.55 is the latest and fully replaces 1 and 1.5 <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> BAS Littlebirds bas_lbs.pbo bas_lbs185.pbo bas_soar.pbo bas_soar185.pbo BAS Kiowa Warrior MISSING (Bad Zip Archive) BAS Chinook BAS_MH47E.pbo BAS_MH47E_185.pbo BAS_Cargo.pbo BAS Blackhawks-SOAR-JAM bas_soar.pbo - REPLACEMENT bas_soar185.pbo - REPLACEMENT bas_mah60.pbo bas_repair.pbo bas_soarpilots.pbo JAM_Magazines.pbo BAS Pavehawks BAS_HH60G.pbo BAS Airweapons BAS_AirWeap.pbo BAS Russian OPFOR Vehicles BAS_RUSOPFOR.pbo BAS Delta/Ranger 1.55 BAS_DeRaD.pbo BAS_DeRaJAM.pbo BAS_DeRaW.pbo BAS_Kawa.pbo BAS_Weap.pbo JAM2 JAM_Magazines.pbo - REPLACEMENT JAM_Sounds.pbo REPLACEMENT indicated that this file replaced an older version. Bas addons - latest versions
MarcusJClifford replied to MarcusJClifford's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
The files sizes and files I have for the Tonal addons after patch 1 and 2 are: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> 180,833 BAS_OPCPP.pbo 56,546,385 BAS_OPFOR.pbo 70,934,107 BAS_O.pbo 71,946,581 BAS_I1.pbo 9,086,047 BAS_I2.pbo Note I am quoting File size (as in first post), your figures are size on disk which could be different for different users depending on file system / cluster size. Both figures are valid, its just best to stick to one - it has been confusing to me in the past! -
For Information: Here http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/iraq/missile/scud_info/index.html is an intersting paper on the Iraqi Scud, now obviously we are modeling a Russian Scud but there will be similarities.

Tell me to go away etc if you want Is there any chance of an unarmed version of the Pavehawk for "civilian" rescue work? I remember you did a version of the UH-57 was it? which was basically a OH-58 without any "dome" or weapons.

Looks good, thanks for posting the readme in advance , may encourage some people to actually read it! The dedication is also nice and for the adult players it bring home that although this is just a game it is based on real life. A quick question, in the prerequsites, it states you need: It is my understanding that some of these addons will be updated in the coming week. In preparation for BAS week I did an uninstall and fresh install of OFP to clear out all my "junk" I had accumulated in the various directories. Will there be any affect in putting the existing (previous) versions of your BAS addons back in to my addons directory when you release the updated versions of them?

While I commend you for making this (and your other excellnt contributions to the OFP community) I would like to point out a slight issue I encountered. It is to do with scene 3, I ran the benchmark twice and got 2 very different scenes - differences I encoutered were. 1. The AH-1s use of its gun (cannon) - none in run 1 lots in run 2 2. A BMP surviving and engaging with the AT3 (?) and its main gun (Sabot) - it being destroyed and exploding right infront of the camera [almost full screen] (didnt happen in Run 1, did in 2) 3. More small arms fire in the 2nd run (is that infanty down the hill?) I know there is very little that can be done to prevent this as it depends on the AIs action, I am just pointing out the fact. Still a very useful "program" to bench OFP - better than the number you are given anyway - mine varies from 5000 -> 6500.

Brilliant Island, addons etc etc ... as most others have said. 2 Question - im not sure if they are bugs or not 1. On some of the roads (complete roads) I seem to hit something - it sounds like when you hit a building / tree etc, but there is nothing there - the jeep (in my case) was ruined (undrivable) - is this a bug or excellent modeling of the African road system 2. When using your MH-60K to fastrope rangers onto the top of one of the 2 towers in Tatu it seemed to be fine - hovering at 5M over the tower -> Hold Position -> Fastrope - but then the ropes appeared high above the blackhawk and the rangers fastroped down them, fell off the bottom of the rope and then got chewed up by the rotor of the MH-60K - 1 even landed on the spindle area and was able to stand up ontop of my Blackhawk (I was still in hold position mode) All the others died when they fell through the rotors and hit the roof of the tower. Again, I think this is a minor bug (low priority as I can always land on the roof of the tower). A great update pack! Congrats to all involved p.s. I was the one who stared a thread about 6 months ago about making financial contribuitions to support BAS, I think with this Island / addons / campain etc I feel even more strongly that you guys should be rewarded.

A sad day - ofp:goty - 7.99 bargin bin
MarcusJClifford replied to MarcusJClifford's topic in GENERAL
I was the starter of this thread, - following Placebo's post I have ordered one for myself - I am very reluctant to order stuff that is out of stock, however it is now in stock and so I have placed my order - this copy is just for me so I can install it on my other home computer and play completly legaly - I don't know why but with OFP I never broke the rules, it was only ever on one computer at a time, cant think of another game I have done that with! -
I now have a powerfull computer (2.8GHz / 1GB RAM etc) to run as an OFP Dedicated server, however it will run over my ADSL line which has "only" 256Kbps Upload bandwith (512 down). Ping times are quite low - about 15ms. In my config file for the dedicated server do you have any recommendations for the following: MaxMsgSend MaxSizeGuaranteed MaxSizeNonguaranteed MinBandwidth (Guess 200000) MaxBandwidth (Guess 256000) Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

How can we give BAS money? All this deveolpment I think they deserve donations, not a ridiculous amount, just like 10 Pounds / $17 sort of figure. Paypal do a donations service dont they? Edit: Pound Sign changes to -> £

My OFP server is pretty quick Based on an Abit IC7-G Canterwood (i875P) Motherboard Pentium 2.8GHz 800MHz FSB 1GB DDR400 Corsair 2-2-2-5 RAM RAID 0 WD Raptor WD360 10,000 RPM Array (70GB) GF4 Ti 4200 Graphics Card Intel CSA Gigabit Ethernet - CSA takes the load of PCI Bus so much faster throughput (Measuded at 846 MB/s [RAMDisk -> RAMDisk])with reduced CPU load. This runs OFP Dedicated server brilliantly, the problem is external connectvity. At home I am limited to DSL upload which is a measly 256 Kbps = 30KB per second. LAN play with a Gigabit Network Switch it is phenomenal. PS, performance is brilliant, so I have not overclocked for OFP, however it can run easily at 3.2 GHz
-
Just to mention, not that it will be of much use to anyone, but OFP:R 1.91 Runs great on Windows Server 2003. - Windows needs configuring to switch on DirectX and sound hardware acceleration etc, but it does work with no noticable performance loss over XP Not much use, as it costs so much but may be of use for Dedicated Server usage.

Equaly usefull is a trigger which detects the units height and increases the view distance accordingly, so when you are in an A10 you can see much further than when you are on the ground, as in real life. Note this only applies in Single Player Games, in MP games the server sets the viewDistance. By the way, can you get becnhmarks of more than 5000 at the moment? My most powerfull PC at the moment is a P4 1.7Ghz and that gives ~3500, so I guess a 3.06 GHz would be higher than 5000. More of my photos can be seen in this thread - Thread about speed of movement. - They are of a BAS Desert Ranger demonstrating methods of movement.
