The threat level set also hevily affects the speed of AI movement as does posture. I.E. Danger -> Aware -> Safe Prone -> Keep Low -> Stand Up Slowest -> Slow -> Fastest Prone is obviously slowest as they crawl everywhere, but Threat level also has a major effect. Safe + Stand up = They can keep up even when you are running (W).

Posts are being deleted left, right and center! Â - first time I have seen a thread go down a page number! When I was looking for a "Man with a Briefcase" I was maddly clicking on this Anyway, slightly off topic, but something I found when searching. From the background to OFP:CWC </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE"> ... This situation is very dangerous due to the strategically important location of Kolgujev - it is located in an area composed of three islands: Kolgujev, St. Pierre, and Malden. Kolgujev is a part of the Soviet Union. St. Pierre has an independent republic on it, and Malden serves as a military base for NATO. ... <span id='postcolor'> Note that Everon was called St.Pierre. I will not post a link as the page gives the Generals name, but if you dont know that then there is no hope for you!

No problem Shadow I didnt think I gave too much away, but my message was edited three times! At least once by Suma himself! Anyway, it is worth trying to get the link as the hidden site is indeeed good, buy I did spend hours last night tying to find the briefcase, and then working out how to type the username/pw correctly. Is it permissable to post a link to an external site which gives tips? It will save getting hundreds of PMs and would not reveal anything unless people chose to click on it?
-
1. Username is one word with no spaces. 2. His nickname (password) is one word, and must be entered in lowercase. Edits removed so message now makes sense.
-
Ok I finally found the briefcase with some help, many thanks. Below are hints, but they will not help unless you know the actual answer. - The username and password are one word (No spaces) - The password is case sensitive - use all lowercase letters and it is just the second part of his nickname. Hmmm...
-
A G T D UPDATE: I now have the link to the site - bloody stupid if you ask me, but still. But my thoughts for the username and perhaps password were wrong.
-
OK I give up after about 20 Mins searching for the link - PM me with instructions on where the link is - I know the details for access.
-
His page has his telephone number and email address, who is going to call him and ask if he was / knows who was Victor
-
Ok, it is one of: Dan Russell Gregg Brown Jonah Lotan Julia Zagonek Ted Maynard Tom Clarke Hill Vince Marzello Yuri Stepanov This is from the official credits Menu -> Options -> Credits -> Voice Artists Although im still sure its David Warner Â
-
I recon its David Warner, I was flicking thru the TV channels not really looking, and hear this voice and immediatly I thought it was Victor's voice. See http://us.imdb.com/Name?Warner,%20David for details of what he has been in. Note he has done several voice overs for games, so it is alot more likely than Pierce Brosnan. Examples: See http://www.dailywav.com/ta.html - Film: Time Bandits - near the bottom of the page. Copy Shortcut to Internet Explorer / Media Player, or right click and select "Open in new window" http://www.dailywav.com/0601/dayone.wav http://www.dailywav.com/0199/notech.wav

There really needs to be some Radio Traffic Prioritisation, so that important and time-sensitive information can be transmittted. A good example of this is when you are a Tank commander and you issue the fire command but other AI units are reporting seeing something. E.g. You "Target T80", then press Fire button it should immediatly say "Fire", but if 4,7 and 9 are all yelling about "Enemy T80 1000", "Enemy BMP Very Far" etc then the fire command is queued until they are all finished talking it gets really anoying after a while. Priority should be. 1. Commander (to troops) 2. Vehicle (People in Vehicle) 3. Group Reports Seeing something 4. HQ Commands 5. Group Status reports (e.g. Injured) 6. Support Replies (e.g. Supporting EC32) Or more realistically have overtalk - e.g. several people speaking at once. Comments?

Benchmark is purely processor - with my Pentium 4 1.7 GHz in my laptop I get 3750, so something slighly slower would get you your 3000+

Absoluly Easiest Way to do this mission 1. Arm yourself with LAW + 3 LAW Rockets 2. Go to the MG closest to the sea on your side of the valley. 3. Kill the far away BMP (in the sea) with a LAW - long range so may take 2 shots to get on target. 4. Kill the close BMP, its coming round below you in the sea 5. Move into Gunner on MG 6. Destroy all 1st Wave boats before they reach the land 7. By the time the 1st wave message is spoken you will be low on ammo. Move to another MG that has a good view of sea - I used the one near the tents. 8. Destroy all the 2nd wave boats 9. Mission Ends - No soldiers reached the beach, all men alive.

Im surprised after 50 votes Linux support has not get any Is it really bad or something - I have no experience of it

I just voted and thought wow everyone agrees with me then I looked and I was the only one to vote so far. OH well. The highpoint for me had to be the release of Resistance, it added so much to the game in so many ways.

Or do what I do: whenever I install new software (games or otherwise) I keep a log (text file or spreadsheet) of all CD Keys, Serial numbers, registration details etc. etc. Found it to be very useful. Just make sure you back it up somewhere (like a floppy disc or CD) in case your HDD crashes.<span id='postcolor'> I have this magic device connected to my computer that is a great way of backing up simple text files or Excel spredsheets. It takes in a blank bit of paper and then makes marks on it and gives the piece of paper back to me. Its called a prunter or something. I can then pin the piece of paper to the noticeboard above my computer so I can see all my CD Keys / Activation codes etc. But not my passwords

If you play in any mission that has many AI units or smoke and your computer will switch to powerpoint presentation mode. 32MB is far to small to hold the textures required for OFP:R so they will have to be loaded / unloaded which will definately impact performance. But I am certain the biggest bottleneck is the processor
-
OK, did you really think it was needed to dump your entire system details Anyway, your processor is quite slow - 1.1Ghz is quite fast, but some people are playing with 3Ghz+ now. Your graphics card I do not recognise, but it only has 32MB memory so that may be a problem. 2542 is a reasonable score for your CPU. Does single player perform the same? - I think if it does then upgrade of CPU will help.

Can someone create a liferaft addon that is based on a simple boat. Requirements No Power (so cant move) 1 position (e.g. cargo) Yellow/Red style liferaft as in reality If the addon can be made I will write a script that deploys the liferaft when a pilot/person ejects over water and lands in the water. and sits them in it awaiting rescue.

Mouse-wheel keeps taking me to desktop

The software you are after (Microsoft) is called IntelliPoint and is available Here. I would suggest Intellimouse Explorer as the type of mouse as that has lots of extra buttons so is probably most like yours -
I dont want to join a clan that cannot work out where to post a clan recruitment when there is a board called SQUADS AND FANPAGES (Community organization place). Doh Moving to Squads and Fanpages

It cannot be stressed enough how this game is SO CPU dependant, I had a KyroII card (About same performace as GF2) and upgraded to a GeForce4 4200 and it only made a little difference. That was on a PIII 850MHz. On my new laptop with a PIV 1.7 and a GeForce4 420MX the game runs so much better. even though the graphics card has about 1/2 the power of the GF4 4200. The only benefit of having an "overpowered" graphics card is that it can do 8x antialiasing.

Probably unrialistic in real life, but with a Barrett .50 cal in the game I could get a kill at about more than 2000 yards, the cursor showed upto 2000 meters then stopped showing a figure (command cursor). it was a bit past that - desert island - setViewDistance 5000, fog 0, weather best.

What type of forest do you prefer, the old style found on the original islands which were Coniferous (pine tree like) and dense, or do you prefer the more open deciduous forests as found on Nogova?

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">And also some small clearing in the middle of forests.<span id='postcolor'> Yes, I liked those too, on Everon I think, there are a few 3 sided clearings - the one where it was a helicopter base in the first campaign. Also there is that base in the forest on Kogujev. But there really arnt any absolute clearings - I have landed a OH-58 in a forest before, survived, and been able to take off again.
