I just installed OFP, upgraded to 1.30, then to 1.46. I went an started the "Bomberman" mission, but the ai is running way to fast! Faster then they should. It's like the whole game is going supper fast. Anyone have a solution to this problem?

thanks for you patience I'm a dumbass...forgot about that.

16 bit or 32 bit? Specs?

the idiots should employ english-speaking employees, a lot more can speak english than czech, plus we want more good stuff, unlike the soviet-oppressed public of czech rep/slovakia. soviet-oppressed? Dude the Soviet Union is gone! Went away over a decade ago.

For me zonealarm did it when trying to start a game online from gamespy. Â When ZA detected OFP trying to connect it would pop up it's little comfirmation dialog..just like it always does when you run a new (web accessing) prog. Â The only prob here was with OFP running the little confirm thing wouldn't pop up overlaying OFP...so I couldn't see it to press ok. Â Therefore it locked my system. Â Nothing to do but hard reboot. Â If you are running ZA shut it down when playing online/gamespy. Â See if that helps. Â (Edited by Maethos at 4:47 am on Dec. 5, 2001)

Maybe, checkout this forum http://www.pc-toolbox.com/x3dfxcommunity.html Might want to try a different driver?

Are you running Zonealarm or anyother firewall software? Zonealarm did this same thing to me. (Edited by Maethos at 3:49 am on Dec. 5, 2001)

Have you tried shutting down all progs other then ofp? I've noticed NortonAV causing problems at times.

What directx version are you using?

Glad you got it fixed pAth0s. Â Sorry I didn't think about the fact that you couldn't see your video options with w-buffer enabled. Â That's a bit of a problem I guess, maybe worthy of a "troubleshooting faq" addition. (Edited by Maethos at 1:00 am on Dec. 4, 2001)

w-buffer may be enabled turn it off in your display properties also disable it in the games video options. I can reproduce that screenshot by turning w-buffer on. (Edited by Maethos at 6:35 am on Dec. 3, 2001)

It's not true black and white....there is some color. I went from a voodoo 3 3k to a radeon 8500. Night missions were better on the voodoo then on the 8500.(believe it or not). Yes I'm using T&L. I tried every tweak I could think of....made no difference. 16 bit mode just sucks on the radeon 8500 for this game. Also I noted 16 bit makes no difference in terms of fps for flashpoint. (atleast to my system)
-
You can't play with a voodoo 3 3000 in 32 bit mode...it's not an option.
-
FYI my screen gets very very dark (unplayable) in night missions when I switch from 32 bit to 16 bit. 32 bit is fine, though black and white. (radeon 8500, win98se, directx 8.1)

What are the operating systems?

I don't think it's a fluke...most of my mpowered friends get the same results. http://www.mtt.ca/OnTheLeadingEdge/Mpowered/FAQ/index.html "Q. How fast is the Mpowered PC network? A. Mpowered PC uses ADSL, (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) technology. This technology modifies its transmission speed depending on the state of the physical phone line so actual speed between two different customer connects may differ. This technology is also dependent on the length of the local cable loop, which is the distance from your home to our telephone switching office. Rates in the Mpowered PC environment can vary up to 3 Mbs downstream (to the subscriber), and up to 1.5 Mbs upstream (from the subscriber). " Also check these results at dslreports. <a href="http://www.dslreports.com/archive/mpoweredpc.net?r=836 " target="_blank">http://www.dslreports.com/archive/mpoweredpc.net?r=836 </a>

Cool...thanks for the advice:) I went to my provider..not an ftp site mind you but a website. (http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/drivers/). Â Using analogX netstat live....I got a download speed (max) of 2630.2 kilobits/second. So that'd be closer to my actual, unhampered, (max)speed? (note:IE showed max 393KB/s) (Edited by Maethos at 4:48 pm on Nov. 18, 2001) (Edited by Maethos at 4:54 pm on Nov. 18, 2001)

how could i choose the wrong settings at dslreports?

Okay On http://www.bandwidthplace.com/ I got: "Your raw speed was 1870249.06 bits per second. There are 3 meaningful ways we can interpret this number: Communications context 1.9 megabits per second This is how communication devices are rated. Kilo means 1,000 and mega means 1,000,000. Examples of this context include 56k modem, 384/128 DSL, and 10Mbit Ethernet Storage context 228.3 kilobytes per second This is how data is measured on your hard drive and how FTP programs measure transfer speeds. Kilo is 1,024 and mega is 1,048,576. 1MB file download 4.5 seconds The time it would take you to download a 1 megabyte file at this speed." On http://www.pcpitstop.com/internet/Bandwidth.asp Text Block Size 5000 KB Download Time 39820 ms Receive Buffer 373760 bytes Transmission Speed 1005 Kb/s

Test running.......... ** Speed 2537(down)/853(up) kbps ** (At least 50 times faster than a 56k modem) Finish. I just got these results for my ADSL connection at dslreports.com. Any ideas how many players I could host?
