Come to think of it, its the only game left on my computer!!!
-
Its been over a year, and OFP (and Resistance) is still on my HD. Even though I don't play it as much as I want to anymore, I still consider it my favorite game of all time. -MJM

So in either case, its freakin' expensive and the taxpayer has to flip the bill. I guess its a small price to pay to live in a country that treats everyone fair. I guess things could be worse... The world could be under the Taliban rule. (i.e. Drag a suspected person to a middle of a soccer field and blow his/her brains out in front of the village, then ask questions later.)

That shouldn't cost too much, eh? <span id='postcolor'> Hoowaaah! Now you're talking! Seriously though, thats probably what will happen in the end anyway... Darklight, I don't know the statistical percentage, but you are right, there have been cases where innocent people have been killed via the death penalty. I call that a tragedy. A mistake by mortal man. It does happen. I've always believed the punishment should fit the crime. And in cases like this, where there is overhelming evidence, eye witnesses etc., of a crime of slaying other innocent people for no reason, I think the purpotrators of the sniper attacks should get it. I live an alomost 2 hours away from the Washington area, and it still makes me nervous. I can only imagine what the people in that area are going thru. Not to mention the families of the victims... The whole situation is FUBAR.

Its good they didn't single out OFP. On another note, I do have confidence that the police/FBI will catch up to him and puts him where he belongs. MJM

Another thought that occured to me: If get s life in prison, he'll do approx 40-45 years for good behaviour. (In most states) (i.e. If he keeps his mouth shut, and takes the rapings with gentle good humor ) At that time, he'll be released, and most likely kill another 10 people... If we waste him at the beginning, the threat of him killing again is reduced to 0%.

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">well to ceratin extent, life in prison is harsher than death. you are confined to a cell, and your cellmate might consider you his girlfriend. <span id='postcolor'> This is true. But the way I see it, Law abiding citizens who pay taxs are paying to keep him alive and breathing. I say, gas him, bury him, and be done with him, end of story. But thats just me. Although, the thought of him being butt slammed while he screams in agony in jail does put a smile on my face. He-He (my apologies to that last comment, if that offends anyone)

Rest Assured everyone, Whenever he gets caught, he'll be getting the Death Penalty! (by firing squad, preferrably) I'd be seriously pissed if he gets the 'life in prison' Pansy sentence. MJM

The Intel810 Graphics card has 4MB or *MB onboard doesn't it? I'm not sure, but its not enough to run OFP effectively. Check out: Pricewatch.com You can get a new (and affordable) PCI or APG graphics card. Hell, you can even get yourself a new motherboard and processor for under US$200! MJM

But I also have various other weapons around the house. It could happen to me one day, and I'll know that I'll be prepared if it does. Thats why I believe everyone has the right bear arms. MJM

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">shoult I pull out a Kalishnakov to wave it in their faces becuase they probably have knives in their pockets? <span id='postcolor'> No. All I'm saying is sometimes it may be neccessary to defend youself if you feel threatened when caught in a compromised situation, or when no other help is available. My friend didn't have immediate access to a telephone to call for help if he were need to use it. There were no other customers there to witness if those individuals did try something. I believe a firearm serves as the first line, and the last line of defence. If it is used properly and responsibly... MJM

Story: I friend of mine worked at a service station in Philapelphia PA, as a service attendant. One night, a group of individuals pulled in the gas station. They exited the car and were hanging out, and not going about their business. He became suspecious and aksed. "Can I help you?" They just looked at him and began whispering to themselves. He then pulled back his jacket, exposing his chrome sidearm in its holdster, and repeated his question. They continued whispering to themseves, then suddenly they boarded their car and left the station... They did the right thing and no one got hurt. sometimes deterance works. MJM

I think if there were open gun laws, that allow up-standing, law abiding citizens own and carry a firearm, the criminal will almost in all cases take a moment of pause before commiting his crime for fear of getting himself killed by his victim. MJM

Hey Everyone! I was checking out Operation Flashpoint CZ and noticed Mechanic's new models. Has anyone thought about building an island with a super-highway for mechanic's speed monsters? Just a thought that soumething like that would be really cool. MJM
-
DeadSoldier, I had a pic on my mind of a map of Everon with a triple-lane highway that spans through the island from North to south. (with exit ramps, etc) My hat goes off to you! MJM

denoir: Yup. You're probably right. Those bastards do have a lot of supports in Pakistan.
-
I am no expert on the subject but I think I found one comforting thought from seeing those videos. The people who have been involved in the making, testing, and video taping of that sick experiment with chemical weapons have ended up in one of the following places: A: Dead - from fighting the Northern Alliance. B: Dead - From US / Allied raids. C: Living in a pen/cage in Quantanemo Bay, Cuba D: Drinking and eating they're own piss and sh*t while trying to survive in hiding in the mountains of eastern Afghanistan. (I love animals, so please forgive me if I seem a little harsh) MJM

Harnu, I havn't seen any good amounts of rain here either in the NE. The only good thing thats coming out this is that I don't have to cut my lawn very often, cuz its dead! Ha-Ha! Ralph- Just had to tell you that your signature is great!!!!

Good to hear Suma, Now can we have some of your water?
-
Sorry to hear things there are bad there. Damn, I wish I could take some of that water off your hands, Its pretty freakin' dry over here in the NE of the USA. (drought emergency declared, water restrictions, etc...) MJM

I think this goes back a few years ago when someone sued McDonalds because they burned their mouth while drink a fresh cup of coffee. DUH! Since then they printed a warning statement on the cup. "WARNING: Hot coffee" Reminds me of Homer Simpson. SPORTSCASTER: "If you have Football fever, There's only one cure, take two tickets and go out and see the game tomorrow night! Warning: tickets should not be taken internally.: HOMER: "See, because of me, now they have a warning." LOL!!!!!!!!!! Now I can see some (repeat SOME) cases where people suing the tobacco companies because a family member died of cancer. Thats a little different. There's nothing chemically addictive about food. I heard on the radio that one guy reported that they're commercials were too entising. Gimme a break! Sounds like to me that there are more and more people out there just looking for an excuse (any excuse) for a hand out. Thats pretty damn sad.... MJM

I found OFP in a banner ad on Fileplanet.com. It was about 6 or 7 months before the first OFP demo was released. I think it was late Jan or early Feb 2000. After seeing the first screen shots, and the teeny video clips of the vehicles, I nearly went completely insane waiting for the demo to come out. Once I got a taste, the insanity got worse, while I patiently waited for the full version. Hey DeJavu! (Waiting for OFP:R to be put on the shelves tomorrow)

I found this on YAHOO NEWS: Using Booze and Breasts to Get Voters Mon Jun 10, 9:47 AM ET PRAGUE (Reuters) - Czech voters are having to make some hard election choices -- should they support the party offering free alcohol or the one using topless women in its campaign? With the Christian Democrats handing out free shots of plum brandy in the Moravian town of Valasske Mezirici during a weekend election rally, the Communist party had to quickly change its strategy for a meeting in the same town square. Soon the party had five topless women handing out campaign literature, forcing people to decide between a free shot and a free peek. "This is something completely new. And it's nice," the daily Pravo quoted one eyewitness as saying. The paper did not say which party the man would vote for. The centrist Christian Democrats have teamed up with the center-right Freedom Union to form the Coalition in the June 14-15 general election. They are currently polling at around 15 percent. The communists are slightly ahead of the Coalition in the polls, running at around 18 percent. ------------------- I thought this was amusing, and wanted to share with everyone. MJM

What would be a good way to simulate Peripheral vision when playing OFP? I was thinking about adding 2 additional video adapters to my PC and connect a monitor to each. Then turning down the focus a bit on the two monitors. This way the middle monitor will be nice 'n clear, and the two side monitors would be a little blurry. This would make the player turn to investigate movement seen by "the corner of the eye". But then I realized "Damn! only one AGP slot!" Any other thoughts out there? MJM

Thats true. Guess we'll have to wait for the technology to advance to a point where we can connect our brain directly to the program. Imagine playing OFP in the matrix? Whoa!!!! Now THATS realism!
