You also have to realize that Shugart and Gorden were expecting to get out of there when the convoy came by which it never did. They were just buying time for the crew because there was a chance Shugart and Gorden could hold them off. And yeah maybe and AC-130 would have prevented the whole thing from happening because the blackhawks were put in place of a denied ac-130 air support request, so maybe if the blackhawks had left and an ac-130 provided air support it would have been a flawless mission except for Todd Blackburn who somehow missed the rope.

Im sure Shugart and Gordon couldnt get out of there because Durant was already shooting out of the chopper before they got there so they were probably got pinned down worst and worst once they got there. I dont think they used the minigun because either it was facing a bad way, it was broken, or because they are Delta Force and they can survive better on their own weapons. They did manage to move Durant but Im sure wherever they went there would be a pissed of Somali mob.

From the texturing I tried to do last night I found it impossible to make a beach blend in to cliffs and some ground.

I tried to find a DEM for Normandy but had no luck, I did find one that was VRT I think was the format which would have worked but it was about 270mb.

I made this on Malden and it starts in the desert north area and exits south of the airport so it kind of makes the airport an island. Its pretty stupid looking because 1. If I had wavefront and new how to model I could import some obj files. I really want an Omaha map damnit, it looks like if you import something maybe it makes smaller vertices because right now we can only change the 4 vertices of say GH 56 or something we cant go any smaller that I know of.

Timmy to move the camera, go to objects then find the camera tab down below, once you are there click to set camera by mouse and then click where you want it and then f9. PS if you see a space between the sea and the land dont forget to go to flags and set the coast area as coast so the water goes up to it.

i got it all figure out now, to get teh camera where you want you go to objects then the camera tab and set camera by mouse then hit f9, works good. Now if only this program had an undo button.

Not that I have found, but did you check out the ofp internals forum, they wrote up on how to do some basic things. I was gonna try to see if I could make a full scale omaha map earlier but I messed someting up but I couldnt undo it. I had the beach and cliffs just all the same like a rectange which was so far so good but then the beach wasnt long enough and I tried to extend it and messed it up. It may even be possible to fit Utah beach in too. Those two would work because they dont really have any huge cities behind them like Caen or Cherbourg. I really want to do it but I lack the skill and time, and uhh WWII buildings.

Yeah I agree, even though I dont really like rusky stuff it will suck when I have all these NATO addons to use against the same ol bmp's. There are some things I would actually use like a KA-52. If I knew how to do that sort of thing I would do it.
