Westwood have completely screwed up classic Dune with their games. I want the intrigue, the politics, the feuds, the venom. I mean, since when did Sardaukar use lasguns? They kicked just abt every1 in hand to hand with a personal shield. *sigh*. I wish there was a good dune game true to the books. Ok, i've had my rant....

Gung Foo=Sounds exactly how it is pronounced in cantonese. Everyone uses 'Kung Fu' though. TKD was evolved from trying to fight Mongolian riders? I was always under the impression that Mongolian Riders were extremely capable cavalry, and to lift your leg that high to try to dismount a charging guy on horseback would seem hazardous to your health.....

Satchel those screenshots look mighty fine. What beast of a computer are you using?

Actually, Taurus, I've found that Transport Unload automatically forces the troops to get out, whether you have a 'get out' waypoint for the squad or not. But yeah, safer to sync a waypoint anyways. Thanks for the Tip on the invis H though. So the Invis H only needs to be placed at the desired location right? I dont need to add any commands?

If I remember correctly, Lucasarts is making a Star Wars online based on the era of the empire at the height of its power like everquest except in space. I think its like Alliance except the world is online and many people buzzing around in their little ships. Dont know when that will come out, if ever, but sounds exciting.

It just comes down to whether it was justifiable or not and whether the force used was 'reasonable' or 'excessive'. If someone makes threatening gestures or uses threatening words which a 'reasonable' person would take seriously given the situation, 'lashing' out is counted as self-defence. Ie Some 6-foot tall drunk is waving his fist inches away from your face and you are backed against a wall (sorry, I'm short, so 6-fo0t seems tall to me), you don't have to actually wait for the first blow to land or be thrown and certainly don't have to stand there and take the blows.

STARSHIP TROOPERS by Robert A. Heilen. The movie is nothing like the book, the movie is a disgrace. The book brings up interesting political views on the modern 'XXth' century and explores ideas of a futuristic militaristic society. Excellent stuff.

You want space sim? Try good ol' Frontier: Elite and Frontier: First Encounters. I remember spending countless hours on that game, doing various cargo shipping missions, smuggling, military assasination jobs and the occasional piracy while dodging galactic police and fines. That game was truly open ended with one huuuge galaxy. Too bad they never got around making a modern sequel like they said they would.

Sorry, when it comes to RTS, I'm a Blizzard fan. Nothing I've seen recently from Westwood beats Starcraft. Yes, graphically SC is getting dated, but when it comes to unit balance, available strategies, ease of play, gaming community via Battlenet, SC is still the best..so far. SC wasn't revolutionary, but it did every aspect of RTS well, making the end product much greater overall. But all that said, I'm willing to give the new C&C a go and hopefully it wont be another clone RTS, just with better graphics and eye candy.

Speaking of SWAT3, I've always wanted to play it. Would it be worth it getting a copy nowadays? Or will I feel like I'm getting an outdated game in light of new realeases like GR and ROTC? (graphically and Ai engine wise. Not that AI exists in GR or ROTC)

Maybe they should have a scenario based in southern china/Taiwan strait. It would go like this: Taiwan declares independance, China invades, America and whoever intervenes, North Korea and Russia back up China Or maybe that would be a bit too much.......
