Hi guys, here is my latest problem with ArmA i recently installed it onto my older computer after the new one keeps turning itself off every time i try to play a game. Anyway, to install ArmA onto my older PC i had to upgrade my graphics card. I had the nVidia 7600. It is compatible and fits in my PC like a treat. However, i came to play the game just a few mins ago and it seems that my textures are all over the place, basically all of the trees, people, rocks, cars, trucks, buildings almost anything, has HUGE big spikes and lines flying from them everywhere! I can't see a thing. I have tried changing the setting in various different ways, high settings, low settings, nothing seems to fix it. Now i'm not sure if it is my processor (Intel Pentium 4 - 2.4) or my power supply that is apparently 'not powerful enough to run the graphics card at it's highest capability' Or perhaps a mixture of both? So if anyone has had this problem before or knows how to fix it then please, be my guest Thanks

Well, i haven't been playing arma for very long so i don't know about what changes have been made, but i can say that there is a bug on the game that the 1.09 patch hasn't sorted out. This bug i found online while trying to transport a POW to the camp. He simply wouldn't do what i told him to, i.e board BH or LB. Then when i finally got him to the base, i put him in the fenced area where the POW's should go and i didn't get any points or recognition for it at all! Well not until about 20 mins later when it randomly came up POW captures, 5 points. but there was nothing saying that i put him in the camp? Maybe something can be done about this in the final patch? Thanks anyway, Lucas

nah, there is no other problem in any other game apart from ArmA, although i was playing just and the flickering does seem to have been minimised with high graphics so it might be okay from now on? Thanks anyway Lucas

Hi all, Well I've had my first problem with ArmA since buying it just the other week. And the problem is, as you've probably guessed, the fact that my screen keeps flickering randomly when i play with settings on High to Very High (Flickering is almost suppressed at low/normal settings). My brother (Who's computer it is) installed some new drivers the other day and ever since then the computer has been overheating, shutting down and then ArmA started flickering. My Bro then realised that he didn't uninstall the old drivers so he did this yesterday night and said that everything should be ok. Lone and behold today i find that my ArmA still flickers like crap , i can again stop this flickering by lowering the settings, but the computer shouldn't be doing this at all as it has 2 8800 graphics cards (SLI) 2 gig of DDR2 ram and an AMD 64bit Dual core processor. I have noticed that i only have to lower the settings on texture detail to normal to stop the flickering, but this makes everything look rubbish and there is no detail on anything. Now i'm not sure what's wrong but i know that it has to be something in ArmA because everything is fine on all of our other games. Any ideas? Thanks in advance Lucas

Hi all, well after finally getting ArmA i was ready to get some kills under my belt and while playing online yesterday i found myself in a spot of trouble. I was on my own, trying to clear the town of Cayo of enemies when i came across a small group of enemies and a light tank. Now, before setting off to Cayo i made sure i had 4 frag grenades and 2 smoke grenades in case i got into any trouble. But i couldn't for the life of me figure out how to access my grenades to attack the enemy, or even how to get my smoke grenades out to retreat from the approaching group. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance, Lucas

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, as for problems with the game, i've came across none as of yet, so fingers crossed that i never do Well, that was a lie, i have found one problem with ArmA, my joystick doesn't work with it so i have to use the keyboard to fly This for me is very hard as i've been flying with Flight Simulator since 2004 and i've always had a joystick! Ah well, one minor problem i can live with i suppose

Hey guys, well i was delighted to wake up this morning to find that ArmA had already arrived ready for me to play to my hearts content At first in training i thought i would never get used to the sensitivity of aiming, but with a little tweaking here and there i got used to it. I also have to say that the graphics are very good considering how long it's been out, i've got the settings on high or very high for everything with smooth gameplay so i'm well chuffed I also had a quick go on a multiplayer server and found it very good, clearing through town after town as a group was very good practice indeed. All in all this could be one of the best games i have ever brought and i'm sure it will only get better as i get used to how it works more and more. I just though it would post my feedback for the people that helped with any aspect of the game and to tell them that they did and amazing job. Thanks again

Yes, i ordered Gold Edition so all i have to do is get version 1.09 and everything will work perfect on my Vista Computer? Oh yea, i better tell you about my PC aswell: It's Vista 32bit and i have 2gig of DDR2 ram, with 2 Nvidia 8800 series Graphics cards with SLI. Can't remember what my processor is but it is dual core. I can play COD4 with pretty much maxed with perfct frames, so i think that it should handle ArmA fairly well i think.

Thanks again guys, i've ordered ArmA from amazon and it should be here by Saturday There's just one more thing i would like to know, do i have to download all the updates i can find, or can i just download 1.08 and 1.09 when it arrives?
-
Great News, but you know all of these updates 1.07, 1.08 and the upcoming 1.09, where can you get them from? Thanks in advance

Sorry Hoz, Thought it was a good intruduction seen as though i'm new to the forum. Sorry anyway Lucas

Thanks for the kind welcome guys, Sorry about posting here aswell, i've just been reading through the Vista support post that you mentioned Sickboy. And it seems that with the patches and updates i should be okay I'm not sure if this will help with the problems woth ARMA and Vista but I brought A flight simulator add-on a while back and i didn't work with vista at first, but my brother fixed it by going into vista as admin and allowing the Flight sim folder to essentially do what it wants. Now i'm not sure how it works and he only found out about it on a random website that he forgot to bookmark. But if anyone knows what i'm talking about then this might work with ARMA aswell. It's a long shot but you never know. C ya, Lucas

Thanks for that Matt, there isn't a patch or anything like that for Vista users is there, you know to limit the amount of problems, glitches and so on? Thanks again Lucas

Well guys, i'm very new to the forum, and i unfortunatly haven't got ARMA yet as i need to ask you all a question before i make the purchase. On the ARMA site i t says that the game is only compatible with Windows XP, sadly my gaming Computer has Vista. But i havn't put the game passed working on my PC yet as i play Fligt Simulator 2004 and that is only for XP but works fine on my PC. So does anyone know if it works with Vista please? Any help will be much apprechiated Thank you, Lucas
