Nah, more like wanting to secure the sales of VBS. -

Where do you get that from? Â AFAIK they never publicly explained why. Codemasters had no influence on VBS. It doesn't really relate to what Heatseeker said anyway. IIRC, there was a statement of this in CM forums. -
Yup, unfortuneately. How do you know that already? IMO you can't tell if a game sucks until you have tested the final version of the game.

damn Heatseeker brings it down for real! Â Thats one of the best why arma 2 is better than ofp 2 statements i read. But wasn't it BIS that broke up with CM to keep a clear difference between VBS and OFP, as CM would have wanted to take it further? -
It's happening today actually. In fact, today's just a test run to see if everything works as it should, and the full power run will begin next month.
-
No they're just doing a test run today. The real colliding will start on october 21st.

The sound thread made me happy. If they manage to pull off realistic distant gunfire and explosion sounds, that's enough for me to buy ArmA II.

Case Antec P182, has excellent cooling by default. PSU Corsair HX520, for HDD a WD 640GB or T166 500GB would be good. RAM doesn't matter that much just get 4GB of some 800MHz sticks with at least 5-5-5-15 latency. Motherboard I'd suggest an Asus P5Q Pro, CPU is good if you overclock it, not so sure what cooler would be the best for it. For GFX card definitely a HD 4870, or if on a tight budget then a 4850.
-
We should have 4 years until they get grow enough to suck everything inside. That's 2012, so we'll get to play ArmA 2 and OFP 2 at least.
-
Then think again. If it works on AMD/ATi graphics cards, why would it be BIS's fault?
-
If it happens on OFP/ArmA only, the problem is in your video card's drivers, and cannot be fixed unless nVidia by some miracle would fix it. But it is very doubtful, as it's been around for years and nothing has been done.

They're not pulling anything off on the Single-player side with that "Razor team" crap. It should be from a normal grunt's point of view, not some SF guys doing boring covert ops. There's no atmosphere in doing just some sf operations. -
Your eyes can see well over 70.
-
You really need to play OFP campaign through.
-
I am able to get Resistance running normally, but I'd like to play the vanilla OFP SP campaign with the old sounds etc, it just won't launch. I tried what you mentioned above, but it will still display ofp logo, cd will starts spinning but the game does not launch.
-
Whenever I try to launch OFP, the launch icon will appear, but then nothing will happen. Is there a way to fix it? Specs HD4870 E6750 4GB ram

Not so sure about customer support as I've never needed it, but what goes to drivers, I think AMD's are better. At least everything works as it should, no performance slowdowns/lock ups on games because of bad drivers. ArmA would lock up every now and then when I had a 8800, but with 4870 everything has worked fine. There was also something adding a noticeable mouselag on ArmA with 8800, but it was gone too with 4870. Some people keep saying that nvidia drivers are better, but they have nothing to back up that saying.
-
When you can get a HD 4850 for cheaper price than a 9800GTX, it's just not worth getting one, since it's more expensive and does not perform as good as a HD 4850. If you're ready to invest a little more, the HD 4870 outperforms everything under 350€ with a price of ~230€.
-
Price: 966€ Only doubt I have is if the PSU can handle everything and is reliable. Any thoughts on this? Thanks for the input throughout this whole process hehe A Samsung T166 320/500GB HDD should be more quiet, cooler, and faster than that Seagate. The 320GB model is a little bit cheaper also.
-
But it's not as fast as it would be if OS was on it's own HDD.
-
I'm not trying to convert anything. I'm just telling there's better alternatives to use your money on, since you're only advicing people to buy worse nvidia counterparts for no apparent reason.
-
If he doesn't care about brands and just wants a bang-for-the-buck, yep, best choice! Indeed, unless you're a hc nvidia fanboy, or want a card that will most likely be unstable (possible lock-ups) on ArmA, it's the best choice.
