At the moment BIS themselfs are counter productive. ;) I don't asked for a replacement addon. When there is the possibility to transport 24 Hellfire with a truck doesn't mean you HAVE TO make it that way. MfG Lee ;) -

The idea was to have special ammo crates for all the different types of shells/rockets/etc. The idea came when I rearmed a helicopter at a ammo truck. I thought it was pretty lame to have ALL types of ammo/bullets/shells/rockets/atomicbombs/gummibaerchen in ONE truck. It would be interesting to bring a truckload of hellfire rockets to a helicopter base, drive back to your base an load the truck with tank shells which are needed in another base... etc. Would add another realistic part to this "military simulator". The one thing I really waiting for, is the cargo system! So much possibilities and so much fun! I hope the idea with "special ammo crates" will be implemented some day too. Good work RKSL Team! MfG Lee :) -

Made a quick test. Made a screenshot of an "empty" place. Then placed 13x the same tree and made a screenshot of the fps drop. ========== It looks like that all trees drop the fps by ~50%. ArmA2 - The ultimate tree simulator! MfG Lee -

It's important to have good graphics in a game today, because: graphics sells... but it's okay and game company's need the money to stay alive. What I really don't understand is the badly optimized engine and the constant low fps problem(again). Another thing is "missing features", the community asked for since OFP. - Why can't we shoot from moving vehicles? - Why can't we dive under water? (Navy Seals, U-Boat warfare, etc.) - Why is there no transport system for: vehicles/ammo/fuel/etc. - Fastroping from helicopters. - Two optics on weapons like G36 and many other modern weapons today. - Better control of grenade throwing.(think about CQB) - 'add other important things right here' My last hope is OP Arrowhead. I'm going to waste my money on this to give BIS a last chance. If they fix the most important bugs and add some needed features I'm happy. If not, well, good bye then. MfG Lee

I'm pretty sure, you are doing a great job Gnat! But in my opinion, a huge desert isn't really interesting, even for air combat. Rather then a huge desert I would like to see a huge "water world" with many many "desert islands with palm trees". Some bigger islands for the airports, some medium size for landing strips and a lot of smaller ones with only a helicopter pad with fuel support maybe. This could be very usefull for aircombat too and players can make use of naval units and the static carrier. I also hope, that in a near future, we will see the "RKSL CARGO SYSTEM" in ArmA2 so a CTI/Warfare based game where you have to transport weapons/fuel/support trucks/etc from island to island will be even more fun! I remember playing cti on AEC island(s) with BAS MH-47E addon. It was possible to transport support trucks from one island to another, great fun! ========== I really don't want to destroy your ideas Gnat, so please see this only as an idea. A snow island and proper winter weather effects would be really cool. I remember playing OFP winter cti was a lot of fun! Winter version of chernaurus with "Proper Vegetation Tweak" trees and bushes would be awesome! MfG Lee :cool: -

Or doing a proper job programming a game, so it works on "normal" hardware... Like "The Hunter", a hunting sim. This game works since it's release and it plays super smooth with fantastic graphics. Oh, and the screen is from the FREE* version. MfG Lee ;) *=Full game, but you can hunt only one species. -

The problem is, the different "level of details" of many trees are so different in look that the changing in front of your eyes is a pain. As long as no one is going to remodel the existing tree model lods or creating complete new trees and makes a "tree replacement pack", I prefer the "1 medium/high LOD" solution. MfG Lee ;) -

Did some more testing. Best results are: - plants2_Bush_Low_Visuals_R_PROPER.pbo - plants2_Clutter_VeryLow_Visuals_R_PROPER.pbo - plants2_misc_VeryHigh_Visuals_R_PROPER.pbo - plants2_Plant_VeryHigh_Visuals_R_PROPER.pbo - plants2_Tree_Low_Visuals_R_PROPER.pbo ===== LOD changings are visible for trees and bushes, that should be fixed. I think we need some sort of "mediumhigh" LOD settings for trees and bushed, not too ugly but no frame killer like veryhigh but also with NO lod switching! Tree with low pbo: Note the half-missing trunk, could look better for infantry fighting. I tested flying @3750m viewdistance on "high" arma settings and it worked like a dream! Stable fps even when piloting a chopper at ground level between the trees at ~250km/H. ========== This addon could be THE KEY to a playable good looking ArmA2! Support this guy, he is doing a HELL of a job!! MfG Lee :cool: -

Same problem here. I first didn't noticed it, because of flying all the time with helicopter & aircrafts and there are no trees near the runways. Then, testing with ground units, I have this: MfG Lee :) -

I have some problems with the extremhigh, but veryhigh runs GREAT so far! I'm going to test a little more but I can say one thing right now: You are a HERO kju! MfG Lee :D Edit: As expected, it cost a little FPS but runs smoother overall. Just like good old OFP. It's so fantastic to NOT see the tree lods switching in front of your eyes all the time. Sounds good. It's a bit funny that in most cases, you have to land your multimillion$ aircraft, get out and drive a support truck by yourself to get rearmed/refueled/repaired. :D But I don't think that the arma2 AI is smart enough to drive a truck near you without: driving straight into the aircraft, explode in a huge fireball, setting chernaurus on fire and starting World War III.
