When I was a kid my neigbour blew his thumb off with a "fire-cracker" of his own creation. Â I've stayed clear of any homemade fireworks ever since. In my state they only allow sparklers, snakes, whistler rockets and other lame stuff, so I have to drive to Alabama to get the good stuff. Â The first store you run into when you cross the state line is a genuine redneck fireworks super-center. Yeeehaaa!

It's a little plastic pouch that catches the empty brass rounds as they are expelled from the rifle. From what I understand the under-paid Swedish military takes their brass re-cycling very seriously. I guess they spent all their dough on that "Gripen" contraption, so they need to save all the $$ they can. Here in the states where we love to waste stuff, we just spray the brass all over the woods without a second thought. The only time we collected brass in the Army was during live-fire exercises, and that was for accountability reasons only.

Perhaps Codemasters aren't mailing anything out until the 28th so the dates may reflect when the stores will be most likely to have copies in stock. That's why we colonials have to wait an extra week or two. When I ordred OFP from Codemasters last year it took over two weeks after the release day to get here by mail (Florida) even though I pre-ordered it a month in advance.

I agree, I think it's a good idea to get somewhat familiar with the island before jumping into the campaign. As you said, Victor should be quite intimate with his surroundings. Â I think it's important for the realism, and immersion factor that you should enjoy this advantage in the campaign since after all, you are trying to defend your home. Â It was a different story with the original OFP since you played the part of a U.S. Soldier, or in Red Hammer, a Soviet Soldier. Â Those characters should have been more ignorant with how everything looked on the ground until they were sent in on their missions. Â I'm going to spend some time in the editor too as soon as I get OFPR. Â I'll just drive around on my new hog checking places out. Â I'll probably try to stick with land vehicles so I'll get a more appropriate perspective, unless of course Victor is a helicopter tour guide like some rumors say. Â If that's the case I'll do some extensive flying around as well. As for those who think that kind of stuff is boring I totally disagree, I love the exploration aspect of OFP. Â It gives it so much more depth. Â I actually enjoy taking a spin around the islands once in a while without having to worry about getting shot. Â Just skimming the trees in a OH-58 flying nap-of-the-earth with no other mission to worry about is great. Â I love it.

I've noticed about a dozen threads in the last few days that have been ruthlessly closed by denoir! Â Some of them appeared quite legitimate. Â What's going on? Â Did BIS put out a newer stricter guideline for forum topics or something? Â I'm almost scared to post anything in here. I'm just wondering, I'm not trying to start a flame war or anything.

The Army's MH-60s are still called Blackhawks. The complete designations are:<span id='postcolor'> Don't forget the Navy "Seahawk", and the Coast Guard "Jayhawk". he he.. Is there a good website that has a large collection of templates for people to use for their own missions. I'm talking about user made airports, bases, etc. I would really like some templates of all three Islands populated by civilians going about their business.

I'd like to see an entire campaign from the perspective of a pilot. Perhaps the war of 1985 from a black-hawk pilots perspective. Take the original BIS's campaign and wherever a chopper is used, re-design them into the pilot's perspective, add a few twists, and there you have it. It would be really cool.

A few extra words in the briefing explaining how to use the laser would probably help. Nice job, very high quality. Â Add voices to it and you'll have yourself an award winner.

I am curious to know exactly what oxygen created mods have been completed and where they can be downloaded. The only one I know of is that anti-tank cannon. There has got to be more since O2 has been out for a while. Please if you have COMPLETED a mod using O2, or know the whereabouts of such mods, list them here.

Not too shabby! Â Very cool mission cumboy. Â Â It took me a few minutes to figure out how to call in artillery fire, but once I got it down, I was on a roll. I noticed that the briefing screen was set up like a real op-order. Â Nice touch! Â Where did you learn that? Â I wish BIS had used that same format for their missions. Â It would make everything feel more realistic. I look forward to your next mission. Â Keep up the good work and try not to delete any more forums in the process.

Sounds pretty cheesy! Devil's Faces addon has both wherewolf and zombie faces you can use for missions like that. The editor even comes with a cool howling sound effect. 1 + 1 = ...It has the potential to turn into some unusual and interesting missions.

I've got the same problem as mr.Frag. Â Missing "Base" Â Where can I get this addon? Â Looks really good so far though, I'm dying to actually play it. The included Kiowa info in the zip-folder was also a cool addition. Mission I'd like to see you make: Something similar to 5th Aviation using the chinook.

Cumboy!!! Well, well, your reputation preceeds you. I have not followed your history but it seems clear that everyone hates your guts. Even in the download secion where I got your 5th Aviation mission (I don't even remember the site, it was a long time ago) there were some hateful remarks against you. I remember your 5th Aviation mission though. Very well done. probably the best air mission I've played for OFP. Do you have any more like it?

So placebo, why not pin a new thread for COMPLETED oxygen addons? I'm sure the whole community would appreciate it. You moderator types could even keep it spam free. Pleeeease.

Battlefield 1942 looks like it could be a pretty good game but I hardly think it will replace OFP. The textures of BF1942 look way too WWII online'ish. "photo-real" They look kind of cartoonish if you ask me. As long as BIS and the fan community keeps pumping out add-ons and upgrades. There are no limits to where OFP can go. My bet is that OFP will still dominate for at least a couple of more years.

Ahhh...Finally something I can see and hear. I've been drooling over this addon for months now. It was cool to see the bus in action, they captured the sounds of it perfectly. I can almost smell the diesel. I wish they would have showed the motorcycle and the pistol as well. One more month to go!

Hear, hear! I always suspected that the editors of PC G@%% (I can't even bring myself to utter the name) was a bunch of low life, fudge packer, CS loving, morons. In almost every issue they have something derogatory written about OFP. Maybe they think they are being cute or something. I bet they have been getting "donations" from red-storm and sierra for years. Corrupt, brainless idiots.... I get angry just thinking about them.
