THERE IS A BACKUP FOLDER!!!! In your main directory of gMAX it should show a folder named "autoback". In there there are renamed gMAX files. They are shown as unregistered file types but open them thru gMAX. If I´m right gMAX autosaves files just like 3Ds MAX does. It saves a couple of files to make sure you have a backup of your latest work when needed, lets say it saves a file after five minutes, after five more minutes it saves a new one and so on until it restarts with the names. I dont have gMAX installed for the moment since I´m using 3Ds MAX but If my memory doesnt fail me this is the way it is. Happy backuping ;-)

Hey there. I use 3D studio MAX to model, thats the program gMax is built "from". gMAX is a free version of 3Ds MAX and does not have as many tools and so on as 3Ds MAX but you can surely make models from scratch in gMAX. I have used gMAX quite much myself (to make tutorials) and I must say that its relly easy to model with. hmmm... I´m a used 3Ds MAX modeler but anyway... I guess you havn´t found the tools like "edit mesh" modifier to edit the object more than to rescale boxes If I was you I would begin with some tutorials for gMAX or another 3D program and start modeling simple stuff to advance to more and more complex stuff. You can find some tutorials here for gMAX and here for 3Ds MAX. Some of the turorials for 3Ds MAX are usefull in gMAX too because those programs looks quite much the same if your not modeling more complex stuff. Good luck

Ok, you can download the pbo and the readme file here. Its just a beta version now since I got my hands full of modeling and my texture swap utility doesnt work. If anyone got a link to a paa/pac swap utility that works please tell me. Have fun shooting badguys ;-)

You need to define where your model is. model="HK_MP5_SD6_proxy"; says that its in the data3d folder, its not! model="\modelsfoldername\HK_MP5_SD6_proxy"; says that OFP whould look for a folder called "modelsfoldername". Writte it like that but with your addons name instead of "modelsfoldername".

No new texture on it yet since the texture swap utility I have doesnt seem to even start As you might have noticed, I have reduced the muzzleflash a bit. Its damn fun to have a bit more power now than before when making a stealth attack on a camp

hey hi ho everyone.. I finaly solved the problems with the model Now its just a good config.cpp file that´s missing I have no clue on what the commands are to define that its suppressed and I hate those damn text files... Im into 3d modeling... not 2D writing If someone can and wants to make that damn config.cpp file Im very glad. send me a e-mail or leave a message here.. what so ever just get in touch with me

Ir0n 3agl3 - I think you got a very good thought there. The option of telling the pilot to let you off is smart. In reality you can actually talk with your mouth so I think that there should be some kind of possibility to communicate inside the helicopter. I dont know if its possible to enable shooting from the helicopter with your own gun as a passenger but it would definitly be a very high upgrade to OFP if we could. The "Loach" your talking about is the OH-6 and MH-6. They was made for the us during Vietnam war because they needed a small, fast and versatile helicopter. It was uused to "troll" for fire from ground units (charlie) and as a light airsupport helicopter. Today it´s used to insert special operation soldiers and also as a light airsupport/attack helicopter. The civilian version is the MD-500. Its also used by police, civilians and other military organisations for a wide variety of operations.

You know It aint for free to make mods. It does cost a´lot of money, we need research, program licences, time, licences for music etc. Just so you know that we dont get any profit of doing this. If a mod go commersial it means that it grove. If you make something your about to sell its easier to put up with money and a´lot of time to make it work. -
I have realistic sounds and material enough to make a realistic sound suppression of the m4a1. As the image say, 30 dB reduction.

I can hardly believe what I´m reading tonight... You call BIS nazis and a lot of nasty things. Whithout them there would not be any OFP! You guys should get a big fat bitchslap allaround the face, thats for sure! I know I´ll keep on modeling and making mods for OFP and I´m a modeler for Operation Vietnam. I feel ashame when I read what you write just to make other people more angry because you think it will help. It reminds me of little children, you know how they are. If they dont get what they want at ones, they will start screaming and making a´lot of noise. Your just like that. Who wants to do anything for people like these? I know that BIS will give out oxygen and maybe some other tools to the ones that they think are good enough to make good modifications. -

M|N|0N You really say the truth there. I have been thinking about that to. Its sad that it hits the one´s that are n00b´s in modeling. I made my first couple of mods for Rouge Spear and Rainbow Six and I remember that it became much more fun to modeling whe I was able to put my stuff into the game. Sometimes we have to sacrifice some things and now it might be this. It´s not our call, its BIS´s decision. If they think that this is the best way to solve the matter, sure it might be. We dont know. What I can say to all of you that are new into modeling and mod-making is that keep on rolling... it will pay up in the end if you stick with it. -

I must say that madmike got a point there. What if they release it to the public, to everyone..... then we will end up with a lot of crapy addons and surely a great deal of good addons. I´m a modeler myself and I remember how it was when I started.. I wanted to make mmodels and mods for every game I got in my hands.. were they good? NO! Isnt it better that we let those who are skilled and have the experience prove it and then they can make these great addons. I dont want a´lot of messages after this that tell me how wrong I am or something like that´. This is just what I think. -
Thanks Fliper. I began to think it was my exporter that I use in MAX that was the problem. I dont really know how to "repair" the .pbo file like that, any clue on how I can learn? When the files are extracted from the .pbo file, I decrypt the .p3d file with the .sqm decrypter. You think there can be a prob there? here´s my e-mail if you want to drop me a line lansen@telia.com

I use 3Ds MAX r4. There are plugins you need to export to .obj files. If you download Flipers tool for obj2p3d conversion you can find plugins with it. I dont know wich version they are for since they didnt work with my R4.

well its not my model but I was hoping that you would know what I meant... I just got a bit confused when I saw apost with a screenshot that I have taken from my work. Fliper - As I said before, My weapons I export shoots 90 degrees to the right.. .any clue why? It doesnt matter if I change anything on them. AND A BIG THANX TO FLIPER FOR MAKING SUCH A GREAT TOOL SO WE CAN MODIFY THE EXCISTING MODELS

Ofcourse they hold them as rifles, no one has made the "holding pistol anim" or what I should call it in english (Im swedish). I believe that we can add pistols later when Oxygen is out. BUT! To make it work for all of the characters in OFP you´ll have to make these animations for every Character model (different soldiers can have the same Character model). The model of the weapon does not affect the way the character holds the weapon. The weapon has a "point zero", its usually in the grip and thats where the characters hand will hold the weapon. I dont know if the OFP characters use bones or if its some kind of morph animations but if it use bones, it will be quite easy to make new animations.

I dont know why but I get this feeling that he´s waiting for Oxygen to be released... hmm.. that should be tomorrow if I´m correct Well folks, we are soon to get a shitload of addons. New models, new vehicles and new characters. The release of Oxygen will take Operation Flashpoint one step closer to the perfect war. -

The Sopmod M4 can have a 4x scope and a´lot of accessrories. For now, until Oxygen (BIS 3D modeling tool) is released we can only move the vertexes, thats the points that bind toghether the surfaces that the model consists of. I will release a couple of weapons later on and it will most certainly contain different versions of the M4 Sopmod. I also have some aircrafts to release later on but I wont tell what they are You´ll have to wait and see.

As I said before, it shoots 90 degrees to the right so I dont really use it in OFP I believe you specify that its silenced in the config.cpp file.
