Crazy Ivans, Rusfor international coop squad
Kimmeh replied to Kimmeh's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SQUADS AND FANPAGES
I'll repeat this thread's title: Crazy Ivans, Rusfor international coop squad I made the important part bold. We might play 30 mins of Deathmatch/Team Deathmatch once every few weeks for giggles and to tweak our reflexes a bit but otherwise we're serious coop only. -
Bumping, I'd like to see this issue resolved or otherwise at least know that others have the same problem so I can submit it as a bug.
-
Hey all, The Russian UAV seems bugged for me. I made a player character, a flying Pchela UAV, a russian UAV control center, and the module which I sync'd with all three. Tried the same with the Predator UAV, works like a charm. But with the Pchela you cannot move the view with your mouse. It will look straight ahead for 2 seconds, switch to the right for 2 seconds, then switch back front. Somtimes it does right instead of left. The marker-making works, the moving orders work, but you just can't pan around the camera of the UAV. Anyone else have this problem? I'm curious if this is just me or a nasty bug. Kimmy

I'm afraid I don't know who you are BF2boy. And thanks for the good luck wishes from the TG people, you guys are my favourite coop community that's for sure! Kim -
AI performs better when set to "always crouch"?
Kimmeh replied to topeira's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
When in a forest or town I like to put em at Aware and at the 'copy my posture' stance. When in a relatively open area with little cover I prefer Danger and 'copy my posture', or sometimes I force them prone and put them to crouch when I want a person to move up. When I'm trying to preserve stealth I just force em prone and at hold fire. I have tried using the commander view to make each guy go to a certain tree and set their facings, micro-managing if you will, but found it to be highly ineffective in a forest, maybe its better in the open? Just make 'em stick in formation, at Aware and Copy-Stance, formation Vee worked wonders in forest fighting though. It'll take us a while getting used to but the AI has great potential, but it actually takes skill and practice to be good with it. Me and the other Crazy Ivans members are still experimenting lots, as AI-support is a big part of our operations. And yeah the AI is waaay more likely to survive when defending, so when attacking with AI and you want it to be fair, give them some tactical support(arty/airstrike/armour) or great numbers. Love the AI so far though and I haven't noticed any vehicles going off-road and bumping into a tree repeatedly, they all behave brilliant for me! Kimmy -
Dslyecxi's ArmA2 Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures Guide Published
Kimmeh replied to dslyecxi's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Again my compliments on your guide dslyecxi, just like the previous one an outstanding piece of work. I'll recommend my Crazy Ivans to have a read through it before heading out into the bushbush that is Chernarus. Bravo! Kimmy -
Hey! No commie bashing! Voted other as I prefer coop. Kim

Mhm once everyone has the game and we formed up our training program and got the show on the road, joint ops sound like a very fun idea! -
Nope. That is all.

All this talk about body movement, physiology and legs... :D Just a female face skin and a female voice in the options menu, that'll do! Maybe BIS could throw it into a patch some day?

Thanks Jay, we will see each other on the field of battle soon. The last few days people signed up like we were giving away gold bars, so I think we'll have a lovely time in ArmA 2. -
Enemy has great vision at night? Mythbusted!
Kimmeh replied to marcodarco's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
You were running, at speed, at night. Even a heavy-metal concert junkie would've heard you. Try to move at walking speed, either crouched or standing, behind them, you should be able to get pretty close. Sneaking up to melee-distance on a moving target is nigh-impossible anyway, especially at night in nature with twigs and leaves everywhere. -
All I ask for is giving the game in the default faces selection one female face, and one female voice(like Amy in ArmA 1). Screw the rest of the model, animations or whatever, the combat vests usually obscure the female forms anyway. A face in the default selection, and a voice in the default selection, that's all. However _maybe_ I am just being a whiner coz it's allready there. xD I didn't play the German version so I can't tell.

This thread will probably get locked rather quickly, but I also don't see a dedicated demo-thread that's allowed anyway. Maybe a stickied demo thread would be an idea? And yeah I can't wait for it too! :) Kimmy

Arma 2 difficulty VS Arma 1, OFP and the Rest...
Kimmeh replied to EricM's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Sounds like I'm going to love this game. Now this is what we wanted, an opponent that defeats us through tactics and human-like behaviour(as far as possible). The MP missions I made for a few coop clans were allways fair situations. When you had to attack something, you'd have enough resources to do it, and enough air or indirect fire support to kill the enemy. I don't make missions to present people a challenge, I make missions to make people feel like they're in the thick of it, it has to be immersive. And it seems like the sf-squad-vs-armoured-infantry-brigade-syndrome is about to end. Huzzah! > :)
