Lost Brothers IDF Units Ver 1.6 RELEASED
Kalimar replied to Jewish-Freak's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I wish that I could texture. If I could, I would make a Toucan Sam roundel for the F16. -
Awesome pack. I cannot wait for the PPK. A side question -- did anyone else notice how FFAA mod set the model skins of their insurgents? They used the custom faces and then assigned them custom faces instead of textures within the model. So you either use the custom Arab face out of your profile, or you play a white terrorist.
-
I got tied up, sorry for no advanced notice. I'm sure it was fun.
-
I'd be interested in just a F-86 Sabre. We already have a nice MiG15.

My premium folder of addons is nearing 8 gigs, I know exactly what IEDs and UXO you're talking about. The UXO/IED pack has a small problem -- they're just satchels reskinned as garbage and bodies (the objects clip with the ground as well). The other IED is just a Howitzer shell partially buried. It asks that you place a script on it in the editor. I followed the instructions and it did not explode. I was not the only one reporting this, many others were as well.

Here is one. The premise is that you've been shot down (like a cutscene of an ejection from MAS' FA-18) at night by some gunnery placements on the island. You must use stealth and strategy to leave the island while a Ka-50 patrols around. There would be one boat and one small helicopter giving you a choice of either, but each would have their own risk/reward. (Also, having it random where you land by parachute might be nice as well. I'd also like to put some randomness in there, like different troop spawns and etc. Mapfact's Dry South Sahrani or Occam's Desert South Sahrani or just South Sahrani would be the setting. (United Sahrani is just unnecessary for this and it doesn't give the feel of a small island.) Forces would be all around the island. I really would like to see a recreation of that Evacuation from Everon from the Flashpoint campaign but with a Behind Enemy Lines feel to it as a pilot who just ejected.

I would like to join. Are we using ECS or SLX?
-
And some IEDs besides satchels.

Ah, cool. Alright, I'll go fire it up and then jot down the errors. Besides the errors, is it possible that the weapons' display (as in the container) be given proper resolution (as in they're not stretched or squashed) and have a transparent background? I'm sure RobertHammer knows how to do that and wouldn't mind helping. Alright, I've just gone through the boxes and I've listed all I could see. M-14's description reads as follows - "rifle, basing construction of 1936 M1 Garand." That should read, "The M-14 assault rifle's construction was based off the 1936 M1 Garand." RPD reads "So too long fire causes problems." This should read, (because of the non-removable barrel) "Because of this, extended use may cause problems." SKS reads "main issue rifle fore soviet army but was soon replaced by AK. First serie." This should read "main issue rifle for the Soviet army, but was soon replaced by the AK. First series." (comma and capitalization of proper-noun) The M60's description has two occurrences of decades as "50'ties and 90'ties" but these are expressed as 50's and 90's. That's about all of the errors I could find, with some left. Wikipedia's content I believe is under the GPL (General Public License) and so it might just be better to copy and paste the weapon's information on it. As mentioned earlier, the weapons in their box have a white background. I think they may need to be exported from Photoshop with a transparent background. Some of the weapons have stretching in their picture. The AK-47 is an example of this. Aside from these issues, everything is awesome. Thanks for the work you've put into the weapons.

Not to be rude, but in your weapons pack, some of the weapons' description contain errors in spelling. The LAW says "fore" instead of for.
-
While they could use improvement, I can commend you on producing more maps from the middle eastern theatre.

How do I fix the error I receive when I use the Syrian sniper? It mentions something about "Hamas black." -
Would it be possible if the IED and insurgent models get released? I see some buildings which were from unreleased models commonly in custom islands.

In Operation Flashpoint, there was a Scud launcher that had Nuclear capabilities, much like the one currently in ArmA, but it also had a biological agent that spread like a gas and had a script which could infect and wait in the enemy (which would spread it further). They would slowly die from hemorrhaging. (I think it was a blue mist when the Scud hit the ground). There was also a chemical agent, and that was just a green smoke grenade's textures made to spread in the wind and it would damage the surrounding troops. There were even NBC suits that could make it so the script would only take into account the physical damage of this weapon. Is it possible we could have an update on our ArmA nuke so that we can get chem and biological weapons? Here is the addon, I'm sure the author wouldn't have problems with some reverse engineering. http://operationflashpoint.filefront.com/file....r;38315 We already have the realistic nuke and dynamic radiation. We don't have an HE version of the Scud, which would be nice, and we also don't have the biological chemical. It shouldn't be hard. The models are already done, all that's left is the scripting.

Two pistol legends : PPK and P38 Â As a matter of fact, within the last two hours I made a request in the development forum for a Bond model. Looks like I'm only a Tuxedo away.
-
Any hints what the two pistols are?
-
I'm looking for a very simple and basic James Bond kit. - Suitcase (Walther PPK/Martini/Silencer). - Tuxedo. - A Connery resemblance as the face model.

I love this map. It's masterful, but I noticed one problem that other users or perhaps even yourself, the developer might not catch. I have a bad obsessive impulse when it comes to Flashpoint/ArmA mods. Objects, units, DisplayNames must all be properly capitalized, organized, and have proper spelling... or else I go crazy when I look at the editor. I was going through the buildings pbo and renaming stuff like StreetLamp to Street Lamp, apartment_building_1 to Apartment Building 1 and etc, and I noticed that in the misc file, you only have the code entered of only 3/4 total graves. Grave 3 is missing and instead, you have two instances of grave without numerical value. To correct this, on the second instance of "grave", just put grave3 and if you're like me, DisplayName= "Grave 3" underneath that so you can see it in the editor.
-
Can anyone locate the script that places both the beret and the helmet on the officer and just leave him with a beret? I'm sure you can do this with a simple .pbo editor and I'm sure the mod's creators won't mind.
-
A couple small issues with this current patch. - Russian Squad Leaders wear both a beret and a helmet. - Sound of the F4's wings folding isn't incorporated into the patch. (States its missing)

TARGET THAT UFO - TRIANGLE!

Could anyone model Arab civilians and insurgents? If possible leave their clothes as neutral as possible, like browns and whites and blacks and avoid giving them things like t-shirts with the Iraqi flag on it. That way we can have generic Arabs.
-
I'm sure there will be IEDs? I should take it as a given, but I haven't found any good IED addons and it would be nice to have one within the IMWM.
-
My OCD gets me whenever I've downloaded a addon and out of the list of newly added toys I see something like this - "Ural ambulance" instead of "Ural Ambulance". How can I edit the .pbo so that I can correct how it's listed in the addon list in the editor and their label in the game? I just want to modify the lowercase "a" to an uppercase "A".

Modifying Name in Editor/List
Kalimar replied to Kalimar's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Thanks, that did the trick. A bit of advice for modders who would like their addons to become community standard -- Please follow rules of capitalization in titles. If you would like a unit to be a BMP that is an ambulance, label it as "BMP Ambulance" instead of "BMP ambulance". The same with HMMWV, if it's a HMMWV, please don't label it as Hmmwv.
