you scan the usual spots for a sniper to hide, and you are checking sight lines from all angles to your position..... driving along you see a hill and think, hrmmm, great snipe point...

My brother and I just bought this game and are getting used to playing, the keys, all the facets of playing, how to interact, etc. WE want to play from our respective houses with eachother? What is the best method to do this? Should we connect over IP? Should one of us start up an MP server with a password? Should we use HAMACHI and Fake a LAN? What works best? WE would like to play COOP, with AI squads, at first... Is there a way we can do the missions they give us in COOP? Any good two player COOP missions I could download? and where would I get them? and how to implement them? THanks for any tips, advice, experiences.....

There is a grid in the map, you can reply with X.Y coordinates.

Wow. Thanks so much for all the replies. Very helpful. You know we struggled with the single player missions that it comes with and wondered if they are available for COOP? I didnt see them in the COOP list when I looked. We would like to try those as a team.

I agree with you Karantan. I already done that. Yeah as I get warned for writing one time something off topic only because I have 4 warning boxes, that I have get mostly for some minor things but O.k. In this forums only calling somebody a "fanboy" is offense and calling somebody "whiner" is not. Why everybody can come in this thread calling everybody names and stating provocative things repeatedly but they are not warned but tolerated. I get warned only for one sentence out of topic. I know this is off topic but I don't care, just must to be said.

Trolling here trolling there, everything is nonsense. People have legit right to express their disappointment. The fact that you have tried to helped villas and other people with problems don't mean that you have actually successfully helped them to solve their problems. For someone it could help for someone else this same solution is not applicable fact is that BIS should solve their problems and is only able to do it completely . As I see people here are not complaining about people that tried to help them but only sounding their disappointment with the game and BIS they are not attacking you personally. Some people it seems have some emotional binding to the game or something and feel like everybody complaining is attacking them personally. As danbri said we are speaking about a game and thats it and people have right to do it like this if they feel disappointed with the game. Coming here and making assumptions about people problems and calling them whiners and other names is for my point of view also trolling. All that people trying to help are also not always right. I had massive problems with graphic in ARMA, with this graphic artifacts and glitches after some time of playing. At that time almost everybody was telling me that my system and hardware have malfunctions and guess what they were wrong as I thought in first place. The problem was solved from BIS with patch 1.02 and not from those people flaming and trying to convince me that my system is wrong. Considering this and many other strange behaviors of ARMA on different systems it is not wise to come and say somebody that his system is wrong and not ARMA especially if he or she is only having problems with ARMA and no other software/game like villas is stating. But some people think that they know everything and try to convince people of their opinions based on some vague assumptions. Live and let live, this is disappointed about ARMA thread so let people post what about they are disappointed. I admit that I sometimes write nonsense or bullshit in the forum but at least I admit it, nobody is perfect.

@Bratty: So you accept everything M$ is doing to you and now you are trained to accept every quality of software without whining. It is your choice to do so, other have chosen to whine and it is their right to do so. So why are you not staying at the topic instead of commenting nonsense around here.

@villas: In the past I done similar things and was disappointed with gaming industry so I stopped buying PCs only to play some specific game. It is not worth it. I only bought ARMA because I was very impressed with OFP back in the days and I assumed that BIS will make better improved OFP and consider most of the wishes from community and remove all the annoyances from OFP. I was wrong it is only more bugged, more annoying version of OFP with new useless graphic eye candy and minor improvements. It was failure but I won't repeat the mistake. This was last game I bought from BIS. Your pictures are very beautiful and impressive. If I had a choice I would rather go and make holidays in that magnificent scenery then spending my time with PC and games. You have made a mistake, must live with it, important is that you learn from it and don't repeat it again.

Hey villas, I can feel your pain. Take a advise from me and stop playing ARMA until it is fixed up, if it ever will be. It will spare you from frustration. At least it helped me. Just wait 1 or 2 years and perhaps then it will work like a charm.

Army tells you lot of things in the training(mostly bullshit) but reality on battlefield is different there you do everything to survive. What I think is to have a flexibility as I have it in reality to do what I want to do and not what is a consensus at military training. In reality you can drop your weapon and run away in any situation and you can stop your reloading process when you want to and switch quickly to your side weapon. It should be done like this you can move slowly and reload and reloading on the move should take longer time then when you stop and reload. Also the must is that you must be able always to stop reloading process. You should drop your magazine on the ground if the reloading is not finished and clip is not inserted or something like that. That would be realistic simulation. What I also miss is knife as weapon.

So I tried altering the EXE with the set mem 512 fix, then i got the 8007000e Error CTD!!! wow, THREE DIFFERENT PROBLEMS SAME PROGRAM!!!

So, Im playing for about 10 minutes then NEW ERROR!!!!! Game Locks Up, I CTRL ALT DEL and this is the error code! I got the ATARI version of the download version, the patch is for "BOTH" download and DVD versions...check it out. There is no "you choose which you have" moment. HOw is it a secure rom issue if I am using the Download version and have the same problem? I wish this thread had came out when I was researching this POS game, I would have never bought it. I loved OFP.,.....IT WORKED.

I am not going to buy it as all sane customers out there also because I already paid lot of money for beta or even alpha product. Until ARMA is not completely fixed and improved I won't spend a dime to any crappy expansion.

So Chris you mean that real OFP sequel will come only from Codemasters with OFP 2. Could be, Could be, who knows.
