I have that CPU, and I have the 8800 GTS 320 with 4GB ram, and it runs fine for me However, Im about to upgrade to the Core2Duo (CTD) in the next few days as soon as the 6850 price evens out, they just released it and distributors are trying to gouge it with a 25% markup...I'll wait till it gets under 300 Good Luck, I play fine with the setup with my current CPU, i just want to be able to play MAX settings and have 100 FPS I also have Vista 64 , and a 24 inch Widescreen, so that makes a difference.

Support for using 2 screens simultaneously

http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/intel/showdoc.aspx?i=3038 Wow. the intel CPU's that are a couple of hundred bucks would have cost over a grand in performance price 1.5 years ago. upgrade now... Question, does ArmA take advantage of Quad Core Cpu's? CHECK OUT THE MASSIVE PRICE CUTS-- THIS IS A REVIEW SITE NOT AN AD SITE.

hi guys, My idea is that basically you have a main screen, the one you have up most of the time, then you have the second screen is your map screen, and in RTS can be your STATUS MENU screen, etc. There are a few games out there that will allow natively to support two screens, for me it would be nice, I have a 24inch widescreen LCD and an older 19 inch LCD I could utilize..... Some guy bragging with screen shots with 3 screens, I think the more normal case if there will be multiples it will be 2.
-
You know IF we had a second screen, NOT ONLY could we view map and status menu's etc. We could have separate camera's for AI views....see what the AI see, MUCH like modern Army and Marines commanders do with their Helmut mounted Camera.... Little boxes for each AI or we have a list we could scroll through the AI and it gives the AI view? They use the intel from the cameras to influence decisions they give on the ground.... Oh! the benefits of a second screen.....!

Yeah no problem, i knew it kind of would, but Im hoping my fella ArmA friends will be able to take advantage of this... The website is a article on Anandtech.com , which is one of the very few reputable reviewers on the internet, who does a thorough unbiased job.

I think its so satisfying because since it has such a "learning curve"...especially in the RTS for example, and other gametypes as well....with the tactics, strategy, timing, honestly, I'm just starting to get some of it down, and I feel like Ive learned a new instrument.... Playing ArmA feels like conducting an orchestra of war.....ArmA is the instrument....and when you play it right, you pull off some amazing things...especially when you are controlling AI, and have strategic objectives with a Human opponent.... I feel its more complex than Chess....more intricate... Satisfying, I'm GLAD I took the time to learn the ins and outs of this game...

Unnecessary, as when you start in the relaxed position with no weapon chosen, then you choose your Rifle, it is VERY fast.... The only thing that is slow is SWITCHING from rifle to rocket..... thats it....next topic.

ArmA as a game is extremely satisfying...

Naww...I dont agree with stickying topics like that. My post gets lost in pages and pages of posts? no thanks. Why even post at all? No, its better to have a new topic, delete that big ass thread. Half the first page is stickyied topics...they should let the first page have more topcis on it, each page doesnt get very many....of the forum that is. -
Another game using DUAL SCREENS is "World in Conflict" Check out this video, unfortunately its the last feature he discusses its at the end. But its a good illustration of how it works http://us.download.nvidia.com/downloa....X10.mov

Here's how supreme commander did it (I dont like SupCo, personally, but I like the idea). one side is the map, other is the unit CHOOSE THE LAYOUT IN THE SETTINGS -- PRIMARY ADAPTER, SECONDARY ADAPTER: Not promoting mac, but you get the idea: Another image I found from SupCo.
-
actually, it doesn't. post in the correct thread. and knock off the attitude. kthxbye Actually there is a 10+ page thread about a Multiplayer mod called Evolution.. K thanks bye
-
Like every post in here isnt about a mod (EVOLUTION) or contains a video... get over it.
-
I'm sure it would be very easy to do.
-
Actually I was considering using the screens for different things, not one image spread out over two or more screens....bigger is not better...sometimes it is

You capture flags, the flags represent resources for your side, and build deployable bases out of the flags, and you can pick units and "buy" them and the AI is yours to order around and it was an awesome game mode, and I want to know the name, was great fun!!! ANYONE?!
-
ANyway, great fun as a game type, and I hope he still works out some of the info and tips since obviously the ArmA manual doesnt teach you about how to work this game type.
