Another brilliant mind to come help out. We're stupider after having read your post.

I think vista is a big issue too. I had more than just CTD problems with vista. Performance issues and the lack of changing gpu fan speeds because ntune wasnt able too on vista. Maybe that has been fixed by now. I have 8800gtx and without turning fans on 100% it would go over 80C cause for some screwed up reason nvidia default fan speed is 59%. When it reaches that temp i would get bad artifacts and lod issues. With xp I have no problems except CTD if I dont flush Vram. I hardly ever crash while flushing every once inawhile. If its possible for you I would try and make a partion or another harddrive and make a dual boot with xp. VistaBootPro is a free program that allows you to do this. Like I said above xp solved most of my problems now im just waiting on a fix for Vram issues. I am having that temperature issue right now! I spent so much time today trying to get control of my fans, I dont know if I can dual boot....was really hoping not to have to do that.........ugh, with a downloaded version....have to get it unlocked again... Go ahead and try Ntune, maybe they fixed the problem controlling fans since I had vista. Its been a few months since I went back to xp, Im thinking it was the drivers that caused the problem changing fan speeds. Also you can use rivatuner but I think rivatuner is limited on Vista. Ive tried nTune, Riva Tuner, nTweak, etc, etc, It works if you dont use drivers 158, but then I cant run the game.... CATCH 22....if I want to control my fan, I cant play the game.

I had the same black screen the 158 drivers solved it for me.....the memory bug was fixed with the maxmem 256 fix

Unfortunately I use Vista 64, those havent worked for me, but the 158 do.... I cant believe we cant figure out WHY 158 work and 160 versions do not? Why cant Nvidia or Arma let us know? I know the fanboi's will say "nya nya they don't have to if they don't want to..." Fine, I wish they would anyway.

An informal poll to get a readout from the General Forum Goer here which driver they are using with their 8800 GTX, there is much discussion about drivers with this card and this might lead to some helpful information. Thanks, I appreciate this being posted in the General Forum for a while to get as many responses from as many users as possible. Thanks again.... I am using 158 drivers. I am also using VISTA 64bit O/S So, if you could just put the O/S you use (operating system) and put the Driver version, thank you! Something like this: Vista 64/Driver 158.45

Another useless post. You and Marines should start a club. Or, you could do like Marines does and post a link to a "slowdown" issue forum..... *sigh*.... learn how to read.
-
Nvidia Architecture? haha.. Here I won't troll, I'll be you: 'Are you ignorant and stupid? I told you its not the card, every other game I own, and that's many, work just fine.....EVEN BETTER than the 8800 GTS, are you ignorant and stupid? (not trolling here, just curious the level of ignorance and stupidity you have) Also, I told you time and time again, people have the same issue with cards that ARE NOT NVIDIA ... THEN, you yourself tell me you had the "exact same problem" with an ATI card? Are you ignorantly stupid again? Why would you go on a binge of blaming NVIDIA when you CLAIM to have the same problem with an ATI card? "Duh, its NVIDIA architecture, just like my ATI card!" Ignorant, or stupid? Pick Now. You are a troll.

The article you posted is about "8800 slowdown issue" This is not a "SLOWDOWN" issue. Thanks for the link though.

Full Story Link Also are you using XP or Vista because i didnt see your system specs or i overlooked them. Sling Blade your link doesn't work. Secondly, as Ive repeated, now for 3 times, there is a thread which Ive posted in this thread TWICE, which refers to the exact same problem occurring in DIFFERENT manufacturers card... HERE IS THE THREAD AGAIN: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=64690 I.E. ATI...check it out (first post) Thanks

WAY TO NOT READ THE FIRST POST...I POSTED A THREAD WHERE MANY USERS HAVE THE PROBLEM AND THEY ARENT EVEN USING NVIDIA CARDS!!! EXACTLY SAME PROBLEM, NOT NVIDIA CARD? HRMMM ARMA?! UPGRADED FROM 88XX card to 88XX card So, guess what, the first 88XX card worked...... So, you're saying that two different, but similar pieces of hardware are expected to preform identically, because that's the jist of your post? Sorry BUD, but that's are fairly ingnorant statement in-of-itself. Also, have you not taken into consideration the possibility that while the preformance you previously experienced, is perhaps, just perhaps, related to a hardware/software issue between your new card, ArmA, and Vista? However, I can understand your fustration More ignorance and another post that doesnt help anything. Wow, you're on a roll "marine".... You're first post completely wrong, and a weak troll. Now, lets examine your second effort: Well, Im not sure I expected anything to "preform", however of course buying an upgrade I expected it to perform BETTER.... First error. Thats a pretty ignorant assumption on your part. Why would I upgrade for the exact same performance? duh.,,,, "preformance" for you to understand. Now secondly, you confusingly reason, again without consideration of the thread I've TWICE enlightened you to, people who do not have the same VIDEO CARD have the exact SAME PROBLEM... In logical terms that REMOVES the card from the "troubleshooting" equation.... I dont expect you to be logical, however , your troll is getting weaker by the post.... So, you can reply, but offer a solution, as weak as you could probably offer, would be better than your childish troll attempts. Buy a Dictionary, increase your vocabulary. I'm quite certain "MARINES" you have no idea what PERFORM or PERFORMANCE is....and probably never will.

So, YOU ARE TROLLING? How is your post helping anyone? ...I POSTED A THREAD WHERE MANY USERS HAVE THE PROBLEM AND THEY ARENT EVEN USING NVIDIA CARDS!!! CLICK HERE (second time just for you): http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=64690 EXACTLY SAME PROBLEM, NOT NVIDIA CARD? HRMMM ARMA?! UPGRADED FROM 88XX card to 88XX card So, guess what, the first 88XX card worked...... Since you dead wrong, about everything you posted, that's YOUR mistake, and a RATHER STUPID ONE AT THAT.

Wrong bucko, already been there, already thread there, already no answers. Sorry to burst your faith in "Troubleshooting" General Forum will get more HITS, and potentially more answers.....Is your brain on AUTOPILOT?!
-
The reason that no one who visits that forum can provide an answer? is that the reason its called troubleshooting? so no answer can ever be found by its visitors? nice
-
So I upgraded my video card today, yeah! now it wont work! Go ahead send me to trouble shooting....I dont care! HELP!!!! There is ALREADY a post in TROUBLE SHOOTING and THAT forum COULDNT FIND AN ANSWER, SO I am trying this ONE!!! But, go ahead, shoot me to that one, the one that DIDNT find an answer!!! YEAH! Here is the thread that found no answer: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=64690 CLICK TO VIEW , IT AINT SO BIG, MODERATOR ON AUTO PILOT, CANT THINK STRAIGHT. http://i9.tinypic.com/4oqiot0.jpg Screen shot!
