Wow, cant believe i am just now seeing this for the first time. Gonna give this whirl on my dedicated...

It is somewhat like bullet time from max payne game series...slows down the action so you can play through tense periods with steady aim and enjoy more carnage...

But apart from your last request, does all the buttons work as they are intended to? most of the buttons dont map properly, crouch=standup, for example. But ive trained my brain to find them and its still far more comfortable than a standard layout.

also wanted to say thanks for this mission. Focus/relax should be in more missions, including retrofitting the sp ones included with the main game. cheers!

Other players booting my AIs out of gunner seats

That's it, in a nutshell... If I was a squad leader and an enemy sniper was sapping my units, I would send an armored vehicle after them too...however, I would not send it for a single shot or even a single casuality...But lose a whole squad then thats another story. I agree with the folks that say tone down the accuracy by hearing and tone up accuracy by sight. Also agree that ai needs to shoot more with less confidence. Really good firefights are few and far between, usually you just hear the stready thump of simi fire snipers, with the occasional 500m ak auto burst of death. Ai needs to take more "snap/kneejerk" shots with low probability of hit, but high suppression value. Especially, if they are just going to prone swim around out in the open. For now, I will keep turning what is perceived as a disadvantage, into advantage. After all, anytime you know the enemy is going to react a certain way, you can use it to your advantage. btw, for snipers, shoot 'n' scoot is very realistic.

I use a zboard and it was a freaking pain to get it running good in vista, but works much better than normal keyboard. I just hope they come out with a arma keyset.

I have been experimenting with many different server.cfg's and so far, I havent been able to get the server to behave when more than 5 or 6 ppl are playing. Bogs down and Desync spikes to 100000 for everyone. I had the host move my server to a completely different machine and things improved 2x but it is still no where near capable of hosting the 20 players advertized. I am convinced that this is happening due to a combination of mission (evo 3.0) and less than optimal server hw specs. When my subscription runs out, I will be moving my server to a different host with top notch HW.

@Dustoff - good idea. Strangely my dedicated server died a miserable death yesterday...started crashing every 5 minutes or so. The log showed signs of a memory leak...ultimately, the hoster had to reinstall the game for me, wouldv'e been kind of them to let me know it first so I could back up some stuff though, and for some odd reason they installed the international version on top of the old US version...now I gotta see if that is gonna be a problem. I dont think any of this is ARMAAC's fault, but I cant help but feel like I got nuked by someone...somehow.

So, I just played a bit and would like to suggest that the msg frequency be toned down a bit. once a minute seems a bit too often. Or maybe after the first 3 or 4 msgs have it scale back to just spam the screen when a new player has joined.

Ok, sry as well for all the extra posts, but problem was solved with the RC6-redux. My initial update said it succeeded but the file was still the older one, re-updated it and now it works like a charm in evo. Nice work and thx for the assist...
-
OK, I was assuming the RC rev would roll if changed. I see the updated SIX_Misc.pbo but after updating it on the server and restarting, I am still not seeing any ARMAAC msgs anywhere.
-
I have reuploaded 6thSense.eu Pack1 as of this morning 08:30 CET. Please redownload it and take the updated SIX_Misc. Your problems should be gone. It can be possible that Initialization messages of ArmAAC arrive later, not around briefing but at mission start. hmm, I have the RC6 version already. I also tried pulling the pbo out of default addons and putting it in its own mod folder and updated the server cmd line to point to it. That didnt work either. I am not running any other mods on the server, and I have SIX_Misc, SIX_tracers and ModWarSound running on my clientside. I waiting each time I tested it for the mission start and even bopped around inside evo, never saw a message from ARMAAC and arma_server.rpt is still only showing msgs from SIX_Misc. Thanks for the help, btw...
-
ok, then it isnt working by just copying into addons folder. I got SIX_Misc installed and can tell that is working by the spam in my server.rpt file...what else could be wrong? When you say I have to enable it as part of SIX_Misc, do you mean actively edit SIX_Misc somehow?
