    I love it in the first mission when the leader says, "Yuri, watch out, you have no combat experience!" or something, it cracks me up everytime I hear it. - - - - - spoilers - - - - - There is another Rpg in the car, although you have to be quick to retrieve it. As far as the last mission is concerned, yes it was good too, but I got a little pissed off because I couldn't really find a proper spot for the mg. But that's because of the grass and not about mission design. The best part for me, was probably when you have to make a dash for the back up area near Obregan and avoid the american tanks. The end cut scene wasn't nearly as good as your previous ones too. Overall a pretty good mission though.

    I hate bumping my own threads but with the next patch coming soon, it might be a good idea to report as much bugs as we can so it can get fixed. Surely you can test this stuff, it only takes 5 minutes with the editor... Also can someone add this to the bug tracker and/or move this thread to the troubleshooting forum please.
  3. Ok I have these weird problems with some russian armored vehicles while in commander position. I am wondering if it is a bug or if there is something wrong with the way I set up my controls. But it only happens with a few vehicles so... BMP-2 : When in the commander spot, and in exterior view, I can't look around the vehicle at all and I have the command mode icon stuck on my screen. Only way to look left and right, is to bring up the comand screen. Is this a feature? Shilka : Exactly the same problem, but on top of it, I can't even access the command mode at all. I double tap the space key but it won't do anything. T-72 : How do you tell the gunner to switch to main gun when in the commander seat? I designate a target like a building, but he will only open fire with the mg. Can you guys check out these situations and tell me if you have the same thing happening?

    Better landscape

    The thing I don't understand with the grass, is that often when you're prone, you can see just fine, but when you switch to optics, suddenly your view is obstructed and you can't see anything anymore. Like someone said in another thread, that makes the machine guns a bit useless, since it is hard to shoot accurately unless you're prone.

    Man, I don't know...I wish I was as optimistic as you. They have so many things to fix/improve and this post will probably be buried in page 2 or 3 tomorrow anyway. I would just like someone to confirm that stuff about not being able to look around outside BMP-2 and Shilkas while in exterior view with the player in the commader spot.

    Yes space + F did the trick to switch fire modes, thanks plaintiff1. I haven't figured how to tell the gunner to switch to HE though but that's less important. I got the option to reload HE when I bring up the menu and hold space but it also brings up the chat interface and that's where it scrolls when I use the mousewheel. But for the problem with not being able to look around the vehicle while commanding a BMP-2 or a Shilka, i am talking about outside view here, what does it have to do with vehicles not having interiors? And the BMP-2 has one anyway, so that's pretty annoying... Forgot to say that I can't use free look either, how are you supposed to give orders to the crew when you can't even look around?

    Ok this was simply brilliant. I think it is the best single player mission I have played for Arma so far. The intro, the music, the end cut scene, the atmosphere, the voice acting (it is hard to believe it is the same person doing all the different voices) and the mission itself are top notch. It is not some sort of commando or specops fight, it feels just like war. It is pretty brutal and yes you can try to be a hero or just try to survive. I highly recommend this mission! It is so good, it puts the game missions to shame. And playing SLA is my second favorite thing to do after playing rebels Â

    From the change log : 5142 Â - Fixed: Improved helicopters engaging targets. Has someone tested this? Does it work properly now? It was a bit of a let down to have a kamov fly above bluefor soldiers without firing at all. (no i didn't read the whole thread)

    That was a really well done and fun mission although too short! If you enjoyed playing the mp mission Insurgent, you will like this. Please do some more. I love playing rebels.

    How does it break immersion to be able to tell who that squad member is when he is standing just in front of you??? When he is 100, 200 meters away, fine, you have no way to tell, as it should be. But when you're unable to recognize your buddy supersniperx on the runway before boarding the choppers and have to point your gun at the sky or lean left and right like a retard, so you can embark together, or when a team leader goes, "bravo squad follow me" and you have no clue who your leader is, now that kills immersion for sure. That ideas about having names printed in uniforms sounds good in practice, but really I doubt that's feasible. Same thing for the password idea. Sounds a bit too complicated. It's not about identifying someone moving in the bushes, or finding out if that soldier you saw moving inside a house is friendly or not, it is simply that there is no way to tell who that teammate 2 meters away from you is. And Walker, no offense mate, but I have played countless mp missions, and i have yet to find a single one that had an anti tk script. Saying every little problem can be fixed with a script is just a cop out. But like I said, this isn't just to fight tkers, it is also to make teamplay and coordination easier. It is hard enough as it is in this game to get people to work together... Yes I know, organized squads don't have that problem and there is always cadet mode, but for some reason I really like veteran mode, and I feel it could be improved and made more realistic with a little fix.

I don't want to give people ideas so i won't explain in details how he did it, but let's just say that he knew when to shoot while everybody was busy or looking away. And that's only half of it. I really hope a dev reads this and adds an option in the difficulty settings to allow friendly tags to appear when squad members are less than 20 m away, both to prevent that kind of annoying behaviour but also to make it easy for players to work together on public servers in veteran mode.

    Yes but if he just killed a friendly player, i would have seen the kill message and kicked him because i was admin. He only shot people in the legs at the start of the mission. That's why it was a problem, since without player tags it was tricky to see who did it.

    unfair arma ?

    I often play with the M240 or the PK these days, because honestly the SAW just feels too cheap. It is just too easy really and i like a challenge. Only time i use the SAW is when i am feeling lazy or when i play on a US server where i have 200 ping.

    I have always thought it is a bit ridiculous that you can't identify a squad member when he is just in front of you. I am all for playing without friendly tags, it means you have to be cautious and think before opening fire because there is a chance you will end up shooting a squad member and it's good for realism, but really, like someone said before in this thread, when the friendly player is less than 20 meters away from you, his tag should be visible. It makes coordination kinda hard on pubs and really it is often messy enough as it is. Besides tkers really have a field day with this system. I was playing on a server where a little prick kept shooting people in the legs at the start of the mission and there was no way to tell who did it. I think it took us two hours to finally find out who it was.

    Fps counter

    I want to see how I can improve the look of Arma with my not so great config and I'd need a simple to use fps counter so I can change a few settings and see what it does to my frame rates. Can someone give me a link? I have tried searching with fps + counter, but I didn't really find anything useful, I don't want no benchmark program or anything. Thanks.

    Thanks, I don't know why but I always thought FRAPS was just a tool to do screen captures and to record movies, I didn't realize it had a fps counter too.

    It looks awesome, great work! Just a quick question. Are the included missions for multi or single player?
